78 Seeing Double

" Are you going to help me up?" I said looking at Cupid and his stupid grin.

I was slowly becoming immune to his strong jawline, long black hair and sleek collarbones. He was wearing yukata that was made from the finest fabric I had ever seen. In his hair was a jade pin. He looked exactly as people would describe gods in wuxia novels all he needed was a Guqin and some fine wine.

[ Maybe I wasn't that immune yet ]

I blushed as Cupid offered me a hand, which I promptly took as I stood up. We walked over to a table that was covered in extravagant food and I smiled brightly.

" Is this spread from that food universe?" I said grinning.

Cupid nodded as I looked over at that food that looked more like art pieces then food. There was some sort of jelly that had golden fruit in it. Some tea that was giving off rainbow steam and some finger sandwiches that looked so fresh and fluffy that my stomach growled.

" Are you going to eat or am I going to feed you?" The king of flirtation said as he took his seat and grabbed a sandwich.

" I am alright to eat myself" I replied trying to hold back a headache.

We both had some of the tea that tasted like hot fruit juice before we sampled each of the snacks. I had to savor each bite as I knew that I would very rarely get to eat such a sumptuous snack.

" There are two reasons why I have had to call you," Cupid said after a moment.

He clicked his fingers and a boy around my age appeared. He looked exactly how I imagined a younger version of Cupid except he was missing the tribal tattoos. Coiled on each of his ears were tiger wrapped earrings. He was wearing pure white clothes that made him look dignified like an emperor.

The aura he gave off was insane.

I couldn't help but stare.

" It is weird seeing you from two places at once," the boy said before sitting down next to Cupid.

[ What the hell is happening?! ]

Cupid laughed in unison with the boy next to him before they both stopped and gave me an amused expression.

" Rinura had left an avatar down in the world I created for you," the smaller Cupid said after a moment.

" So I will leave one too!" the larger Cupid followed while he drank some tea.

" So… you are both you?!" I said confused as my head spun.

Both cupids nodded simultaneously.

I pinched the bridge of my nose.

[ This was going to get confusing ]

" Call me.. Loki" The smaller Cupid said pointing to himself.

" Loki?" I replied still wrapping my head around everything.

" Mm we may be the same person but Cupid split his soul. I will technically be a different person with different experiences soon. I am also not as strong as the main. So .. don't expect much help from me." Loki said nodding.

" Is this what you were busy with?" I said blinking rather quickly.

Loki walked up to me at a slow pace. He looked to be the same age as me but was still a little taller.

He came up next to me before asking me to stand.

I complied without much complaint and stood to face Loki.

"Ready? I am not sure if this will hurt..." Loki said worriedly.

" Uhh I guess..I" and said and before I could finish Loki's eyes went dark and galaxies shone in them.

I was hypnotized followed by a very real pain.

" AHHHHHHH!" I couldn't help but scream as I grabbed my head.

So much new information poured into my head about things I had never heard of before I forgot them again. The cycle continued for a good incense stick of time before I was panting in a puddle of my own sweat curled into a ball on the floor.

" It's done!" Loki said and looked at Cupid.

I heard the systems voice in my brain.

It looked like he had just installed the new War package for the Lubu Lubu System into my head.

" It won't be ready for a while, last time when I updated you out of the blue there was too much information and your brain fried. So this time I am letting it unpack slowly. Humans are such weak creatures" Cupid said as he sighed.

" Excuse me for being human," I said weakly.

Loki walked over and grabbed some tea before he stooped down and fed it to me. The pain in my head subsided after a while and I finally stood up.

" How come every time I see you something painful always happens?" I said sarcastically.

" That's not very nice," Loki and Cupid said in unison.

" I guess you will be staying with me back in Tama?" I said changing the subject.

" Now that you have offered I would love to," Loki said with a cheeky tone.

" I really put my foot in my mouth then didn't I" I replied.

" Well if it makes you feel any better, Rinura is currently with someone who won't like you very much. It is probably best you stay by my side anyway. I have no idea what she had got planned staying in Vance" Cupid said smiling.

" Was Rinura behind my father and mother?" I said with gritted teeth.

" Can't and won't tell you," Cupid said flatly looking at a jelly and popping it in his mouth.

" What why?!" I said angrily.

" Think of Rin Rin as my sister. You are special to me, she is also special to me. I won't let her harm you directly but I won't protect you from anyone but her" Loki said with a sigh.

" Not even when it has to do with my family?" I said in response.

" Yuta.. you forget to someone like me you are no bigger than a spec of dust, every other human in every other universe and in every other situation is about the same. Your lifespan is so small I could sleep for an hour and the universe I placed you in would be dead and gone. I care about you for reasons I will not share but I will not damage a 30 billion-year-old friendship I have with Rin Rin for you. " Cupid said sternly.

" Is she even a friend if she is doing this to the universe you made, to begin with?" I said suddenly.

" If she really wanted to she could put a black hole on your house and be done with it. She is just messing around. To people like her, this is a prank and nothing more." Cupid said shaking his head.

" I see that you for clarifying," I said bitterly.

" I know your feelings are hurt but I thought I would like to be honest with you. I came to correct a mistake I made not fix all your problems for you. You should believe in yourself more. Let me handle Rinura. You look after the rest" Loki said as he grabbed my shoulder.

" I see, I want to go back to Tama now," I said quietly.

" As you wish," Cupid said as he clicked his fingers.

I pulled my head up from my desk groggily and looked at my hand. It was the same symbol as before just now with an added sword. I looked up at Kibbles who seemed to be peacefully sleeping and for some reason, I felt refreshed.

There was a knock on my door.

" Come in," I said with a croaky voice.

My grandfather walked in with someone behind him who stood up straight with an air of mischief.

" Yuki since people have been after your life, the Emporer has arranged a special forces bodyguard to accompany you from now on, this is a rare honour! He has really gone above and beyond with this little twerp! Say hello to your new guard he just arrived five minutes ago." Reo said with a broad grin.

I was waiting for it but it really was.

I sighed.

Loki came up in front of Reo and said in a calm voice " Hello young master, I am Hidden Dagger, Please call me Loki" he bowed with perfect manners before looking at me and smiling.

[ A god-like being calling me young master.. ]

I tried not to swallow my tongue and I replied " I look forward to your help"

" Right this old man knows where he isn't needed I will see myself out!" Reo said chuckling.

Loki did a firm military salute to grandfather which made him grin and pat Loki on the head.

[ Did you just?! ]

I looked at grandfather with a horrified expression which he didn't seem to notice before he made his way out of my room.

Kibbles lazily awoke before he sniffed the air.

" Something smells amazing" Kibbles mumbled inside my head.

" You better not try and eat me" Loki replied.

" Meowster?.." Kibbles replied groggily before his eyes shot up.

" MEOWSTER!!!!!" Kibbles said excitedly looking over at Loki before jumping into Loki's arms.

I looked over at Loki who scanned my room and tutted.

" Aren't you gonna say welcome home? We will be VERY close to each other for a little while." Loki said with a grin.

I looked over at him with a blank expression.

[ I just.. ]
