32 Unexpected Guests

Ki had come into my room and stood near the end of my bed. We had no candles lit, As I had looked over all I could see was a vague impression of her against the moon shine as if half of her body was drawn in pale light.

Her hair was tied up in a impeccable top bun, her simple dress that she wore tonight seemed to cascade her body like a waterfall. She wore no jewelry or accessories but it only seemed to heighten her beauty.

She had walked over to a candle as I had still been in a daze trying her best to take light steps as if trying not to disturb my thoughts. I caught myself stroking Kibbles unconsciously.

She had lit a candle.

" Young master" She had said softly.

I looked up at her as and watched her eyes be accentuated by the candle line forming slight shadows on her face. I caught myself staring at her after a moment then nodded my head.

" Are you okay is the party too much? I should have told you but it was a surprise… " Ki said apologetically in a soft tone.

[ Sure the party or just dying.. Take your pick! ]

I let her think it was merely me being overwhelmed by the party.

" I will be okay, thanks for checking up on me, I just needed a moment!" I said as the slit under my nose rose into its usual fake formation.

" Oh? It's Kibbles awake! I am so glad Ren will be happy too!" Said Ki as she looked down at the Kithun that was staring at her. She smiled broadly and clapped her hands together to change the depressed mood in the air.

The air lighted and I remembered to breath out the air that was caught in my lungs.

" Right, did you need me for something? I will be back inside in a moment." I said as I pulled myself together as best as I could.

" Mm it seems someone very special has turned up and is waiting for you in the hall, please follow me young master so I can present you to them!" Ki said as she tried her best tone to cheer me up.

" Oh Ki.. one other thing." I said as I put Kibbles on the floor and stood up. Kibbles seemed to stand near my feet for a moment before jumping on my shoulder with a grand leap.

Ki looked at me expecting my next words.

" You look lovely tonight, I am sure you will make any person you choose to be with very happy!" I said as I took one last look at her immaculate hair.

[ That should stop any more questions! ]

" Wa.. wa wa what! Um thank you young master! I appreciate it, Your father had given me the day off to celebrate your birthday.. I umm um" Ki said as she stumbled through her sentence she held her cheeks in a daze.

" Meowster, you sure are sneaky! " Kibbles said telepathically.

[ Sneaky your foot! I just didn't want to talk about stuff you know. I can hear you again.. It was lonely without you Kibbles. I am truly glad you are back! ]

Ki had finally snapped out of her daze and went to pat me on the head before she stopped herself at the last moment, flinching away. She then had coughed once and opened the door for me to exit.

Kibbles rubbed its face up against mine and we then walked through the door. People from a distance would have seen a young boy standing next to a person that was eye catching like a pearl.

Due to my stern looks I wondered if a passer by would think of something like that movie Beauty and the Spirit Beast.

I may have been short but I think the outfit that Riku's mother had made me with all of their gratitude made me look at least a little regal.

We had finally made it back to the party. Ki had walked me back inside, although I had gone through so much, in this world only five or so minutes had gone by. I could tell by the position of all of the people, barely anyone had moved.

Ki had taken me to a quiet spot in a corner before a butler had called at the door. The names of each of the people in the royal family. They had walked into the entrance in pairs with the crown prince being the only one without someone by his side.

Everyone including myself had taken one knee and put a fist to our chest. The sound echoed in the room with two thumps!

" No need for formalities, this is a celebration not court!" The emperor said grandiosity as he led his wife down the last step.

May of the adults in the room had laughed as if their life depended on it. In hindsight it probably could have had his highness been a tyrant. The emperor had seemed to smile at his own joke. I tried my best not to shake my head.

[ Wasn't funny. If you were not so handsome I am sure no one would have laughed! ]

" Meowster, you seem like your in a bad mood" kibbles said as his voice traveled between my ears.

[ You could say that look over there. ]

Everyone had risen afterwards almost as if it we had all practiced before hand to stand up at the same time. The royals all seemed to scan the room before they stopped on me and headed in my direction.

" Ki was I brought back to meet the royals" I whispered to the person next to me.

" No just wait a moment.." Ki whispered back and put on a grand smile.

The butler then cleared their throat and called a name I have never heard of before, however their title had made my head spin.

" Now entering Wu Wei, Headmaster of Main Magicus School for the Gifted Elite. " Said the butler as he sweated slightly with nervousness.

[ HEADMASTER?! ]

The headmaster had looked exactly as he had back in the game. He was of Chinese descent with a long white beard and moustache that gave him the vibe of a grand wizard from western literature. His head was shaved so bald one could mistake it reflecting the sun like that mood had that night.

His garb was a dark gold that was intricately laced with silver runes. The runes glowed a sign that the fabric was probably lined with some sort of protection talismans. I looked at him in awe. If he was anything like the game, he was a man truly worthy of the title headmaster.

" Now entering 5th rank earth mage lady Yu" the butler had spoken out loud again. This time there was a small crack in his voice, I felt sorry for him knowing how much pressure he was under.

[ Lady Yu? Isn't she a teacher at the academy? ]

Lady Yu in the game was one of the best earth mages at the school and taught the final year students advanced magic. Ki had nudged me at that moment in the direction of the royals. I did my most perfect bow as I greeted the emperor and empress.

[ Now is not the time to meet them, first this problem! ]

" Young man, We had heard you had quite an incident recently, We are glad to see you are well!" said the empress.

[ I wonder if the gown your wearing costs one entire city or two ]

" Thank you empress for your kindness" I said as dignified as I could.

I looked at her from head to toe as I notice her unusual square apparel. She was wearing what I could only describe as a Rorschach test dress, but instead of inkblots they were squares that seemed to change from large to small very slowly. I tried my best not to stare too much but it had taken most of my will power.

I felt dizzy.

As I tore myself away from the dress I felt a small set of hands grab my arm as if it was natural. I looked over and saw it was Rosali wearing a peach colored dress with white ribbons her hair styled in a light but refreshing look.

" Yuki!! Happy birthday! We bought you some gifts they are on the table with the rest! " said the princess as she smiled wide.

" Thank you Rosali and thank you to your family as well, I am sure I will love them!" I said looking down at where she had latched onto me.

People started to crowd around the emperor and empress so they had excused themselves as to not interrupt our talk.

From behind their leaving bodies, the crown prince and second prince had arrived. Once again they were matching this time is a western outfit. They had both warn suites that would not look out of style on a fashion magazine.

However on their breast pockets were the royal crest and they both had matching spirit beast furs draped over their bodies like cloaks. The only outstanding difference was that the crown prince had worn a gold beast fur while the younger of the siblings had worn a sliver beast cloak.

The cloaks had made me double look at the outfits because they seemed to have runes etched in them. I looked over at the princes to see her ribbons also glowed.

[ I wonder how expensive runed clothing is ]

" Yuki!" the second prince said as he smiled brightly.

I noticed from the corner of my eye the princess had glared at that moment, I have chosen to ignore it.

" Yuki, a pleasure to see you as always" said the crown prince elegantly.

Just as we were about to start talking, the form of the headmaster and lady Yu had appeared from behind the two princes.

" Oh young Leopold, Nathaniel, Rosali are you well? And you must be Yuki" said the kind and imposing voice of headmaster Wei.

I watched as all the royal children had turned around and half bowed politely at the two behind them.

[ Even the royals bow to these people? Incredible. ]

" I am Aikyo Yuki and the pleasure is mine headmaster Wei, Lady Yu" I said with my sincere respect.

" hahah good lad! good lad! " Said the headmaster in return as he seemed to beam.
