Shannon ignores the voice in her head.

[Hello, I am Pi9019. You can give me a new name if you want to. Honestly, I prefer a short name,]

"Darn it!" She murmurs to herself. The voice in her head keeps talking as if she is a radio. "Can't you shut yourself down?"

[I have reconnected with other systems. We made a group. You can send a message to your friends. Brandon also has a system. Isn't it amazing that you can contact other people in your head?]

"Only if I had some privacy?" Shannon isn't a fan of anything that invaded her privacy and thoughts. After having a conversation with Sung Nami, the president of the council, she has started hearing this thing's voice in her head. It talks about how she can have her own continent -- and how the Developers can help her rebuild civilization. She must get a place for humans or they will get extinct. Shannon isn't against these ideas. Humans are the most vulnerable creatures in the current world -- there's barely any humans left. The angels are trying to help all the survivors, but everything is revealed. Their world consists of fae, dark creatures, and other creatures that aren't humans. Sung Nami isn't a human like her either.

And it seems that Sung Nami is soft toward non-humans. Sung Nami's brothers are demons and her mother is also a demoness.

[And her true mate is a vampire.]

Shannon folds her arms. There's a near-permanent scowl on her face. How can they trust someone who has a vampire mate?

[Although there are only nine pureblooded vampires, they can always make more. The vampire queen is a convert. She used to be a human, but she was converted into a vampire during the apocalypse. She killed hundreds of humans. And she kidnapped a human child.]

"A human child?" Shannon raises her brow.

[The human child was adopted by the vampire king. She's the only one who can kill the noble vampires.] A pause. [Currently, she's living with the moon guardian. The moon guardian will train her to be a blood witch. Anyway, the moon guardian's true mate is also a dark creature -- a ghoul with a history of violence.]

It seems that humans can't trust anyone.

[That's why you should seek your own nation during the meeting. You are the chosen leader of the humans -- it's not Sung Nami. Don't worry about starting, Shannon. I am the Empire-Builder System. I can make you an empress.]

"I don't have such interests," Shannon murmurs. "I just want to protect my people."

[And that can happen if you are powerful. You don't have magic or the talent for spiritual cultivation. I mean, it's not impossible, but the current status of the world? It will be a long time before you can even sense some spiritual energy.]

Shannon inhales sharply.

This kind of problem has existed before. Previously, people of her country were worried about immigrants. And racism existed to some extent. Now what? It wasn't even racism. It was a problem of species. Vampires aren't even humans. There are demons and faes -- and what not? Humans need to survive. Having a different nation is a legitimate request.

[If you say yes, I will help you kick them all out of this world.]

Sung Nami looks at the crowd in front of the council building. Shannon is their leader.

"My head hurts," She grumbles. "The meeting hasn't even started yet."

"I didn't expect this to happen either." Sung Seung Jin leans against the wall. "Will you go ahead with the meeting?"

"Do I have any choice?" Sung Nami frowns when she notices Klyn making his way through the crowd. "Now, why is he here?"

"Who?" Sung Seung Jin follows her eyes. He wrinkles his nose. "Your mate."

The crowd starts to shout loudly. Klyn is startled. He dashes toward the gate of the council building.

"Don't call him that." She scratches her head in frustration. "Don't let him enter. It's already bad that they know I have a vampire mate. There's going to be so much political drama, although most of the council members are dead."

"Don't worry too much." Sung Seung Jin puts his hands on her shoulders and squeezes them gently. "Mother and Father are trying to find a solution before the meeting. Also, Uncle Choi is here. He is also trying. Brother Soo Hwan will come soon. And his wife will be here with him."

"Nakashima Natsumi." Sung Nami widens her eyes. "If she comes, she can easily convince these people. Wait! When did she become his wife?"

"They haven't married in name yet." Sung Seung Jin rolls his eyes. "We all know that they will be together. Anyway, I don't like her but she is smart. She is the smarted woman in our family --"

"Smartest?" Sung Nami scowls at him.

"Rina is only smart when it comes to Reis. Mother isn't exactly smart. Father fooled her." Sung Seung Jin states, "You are smart, but you are not smart when it comes to laws."

"She is smart when it's about laws." Sung Nami corrects him, "I am an all-rounder smart."

"Let's not get competitive." Sung Seung Jin continues, "It will be beneficial for us if she comes. She can beat some sense into these people."

"Is Aunt Wakana coming?" Sung Nami asks.

"I am not sure…" Sung Seung Jin looks toward the crowd again. "Uncle Choi didn't speak much about her. Soo Hyun went to get Sayuri from the Phoenix' realm. As much as I know, they will go to see her."

"I wish everything could turn normal again," Sung Nami says. She senses Klyn approaching the office. "Can you see Klyn and tell him not to see me?"

Like scare him away?"

"Yes."

"Happy to."

Sung Seung Jin doesn't question her further. He walks out of the office.
