408 Dining With Royalty

Mika walked back into the dining hall with Ailwin right behind her. Spotting her mother and father being sweet together, she went over to rain on their parade.

"Mom, dad knows about all about Rowood City. Dad, mom didn't want you to know. Bye." Mika walked away after dropping a little bomb.

Lyra stared at her daughter's retreating back, Damn brat!

Mano squeezed Lyra's hand, gaining her attention.

"We need to talk." Leaving their seats, Mano pull Lyra along out of the dining hall.

Mika watched as her parents left the dining hall from the main kitchen's doorway.

"Was that necessary?" Ailwin questioned. He could sense that what she just did cause some kind of rift between her parents.

"Yes, its time they handled what is going on between them." Pointing at the plates of food she wanted to servant piled two tray full with food. Looking at Ailwin, she gestured for him to grabbed to two tray befor leaving the kitchens.

"There are how many servants here...why am I carrying the food?"

"Ailwin. don't be lazy."

"Says the person who's carrying nothing."

"I'm carrying my pride...its too heavy for me to carry anything else."

Once we reached the front gates, Pia welcomed the two inside. Though, she wouldn't allow Mika to bring Ailwin into her bedroom, she did show them to a extra room side room they could use for their private conversation.

"Pia, why can't we talk in my bedroom?" Mika whined after being denied so vehemently by her mother's personal maid.

"Do you want your mother to kill you then me?"

"No...wait! why would she kill me first then you!?"

"...I'm more useful to her."

"Pia, this is why I didn't bring you back any gifts!… Is this the type of attitude you should be showing your young miss!" Mikaela pushed out her flat chest and held her head up high.

"Tch...Mikaela, I wiped your a** when you were just a wee fledgling. If you think your title as young miss of Amara clan scares me, you never seen your sh*t." Pia turned around and began walking away, "Now, go eat your food before it gets cold."

"Heh...hahaha…" Deep laughter had Mika turning her heads to its source.

"I can see why you didn't want me meeting your mother earlier, she and her maid are the only ones who can take you down a peg or two huh...haha." Ailwin laughed freely in Mika's face.

Pouting and hungry, Mika pushed him out of the way to sit and begin eating without him.

Realizing she might eat his share just to spite him, Ailwin swiftly joined her at the table, filling his plate with delicious food.

"So, tell me why your eyes are a different color?"

"Are you sure you want to hear about it now? It is a long story…"

"Isn't this why you dragged me away from the festivities tonight."

Mika shrugged her shoulders, "Fine...but before I begin I need your word that you won't interrupt me or speak of this to anyone."

"You have my word."

Wiping her hands and taking a sip of water, Mika cleared her throat, "It all started with my great, great, grandmother…..Analise…."

As Mika started telling Ailwin about her family's history, off in another private room, Mano and Lyra sat next to one another on a sofa.

"Lyra, this really needs to stop...I want to help you, but your not even willing to tell me what your up against. I can't keep acting dumb and ignorant of your activities anymore...I want to know what is going on. Especially if it involves our daughter running for her life from exploding cities!"

Lyra stared at the man she has been with for the majority of her two hundred plus (200+) life and sighed.

Maybe, it is time to stop…

"Okay...what do you want to know?"

Seeing that his wife was ready to put down her walls, Mano retook his seat beside her, "Everything, Lyra...everything."

For the rest of the night mother and daughter retold their story as father and son-in-law listened.

By the end, both Mano and Ailwin felt like their souls have left their bodies.

"...and now, here we are…" Mika finished her story then picked up her fork to resume eating.

Ailwin had long forgotten the plate of front of him when Mika first started talking, and by the end, he couldn't even stomach the though of finishing the meal.

"So….so you're actually…"

"Royalty...a princess, yes…*burp*...excuse me." Mika patted her chest after chugging down her spiced pompom juice.

Ailwin shook his head free of the image his mind concocted. For an instant there, he thought Mika was someone different.

"What? What's wrong?" Mika asked after he went quiet.

"Nothing, for a minute there I start to believe this fictitious image of you...but I see now you will always be my Minx." He laughed.

Mika didn't know what he meant by that, but chose to ignore it.

"Do you have any questions?"

"Tons...but it is late and I don't want to give your mother any reason to give me another sparring lesson in front of my men."

"Oh, don't worry about that. She is probably be late tonight herself anyway."

"Still, I need some time to process all that I have heard. Later...I'll come back with my questions, okay?"

"En…"

With the meal finished, Mika walked Ailwin to the front gate.

"After tomorrow we need to leave for the palace, make sure you have everything pack and ready." Ailwin reminded.

"En."

Wishing each other a goodnight sleep, they parted ways.

Arriving back in her bedroom, Mika plopped down into her vanity chair, exhausted.

Struggling out of her dress and shoes, Mika washed up and dressed in a clean nightgown before climbing into bed.

As her head hit the pillows, her conscious instantly appeared in her mind's space.

"What the…?"

I have no desire to work tonight, so why did my conscious come here-WOAH!

Mika felt a searing pain in her low abdomen, which soon became an unbearable heat.

It felt like lava was burning through her body.

What the hell is happening!?...Do I need to get to a toilet!

In her bedroom, her body had twisted and turned before finally laying still on its back as a glow built in her core to shine brightly in the room. Sweat dripped down her body to soak the bed as if she had been doused with water.

Mika soon couldn't take it any longer and she blacked out.
