Name:Get Back to You Author:ljack_ace
Over at the Bronx, Anna and Jake finally admitted to each other about the things that bothered them for a long time. They resolved to leave the disturbing past behind them and start a new beginning together. Overwhelmed by Jake's affection, Anna couldn't help but desire to spend a romantic night. The two made sweet love all night until dawn appeared to signal the start of the day.

Anna fell deep in sleep while Jake lay next to her. He was honestly too happy to shut his eyes, childishly pretending that all the good times might disappear if he closes his eyes for a light snooze. He stayed awake to keep watching his wife's pretty face. The only reason Anna got the opportunity to rest is that she couldn't keep going along with her husband's insane passion. Although it was her who proposed the idea, Anna grew tired eventually. They stopped counting at some point, ignoring to keep track of such records and only focused on each other.

Seeing Anna's face quite worn out, Jake couldn't help but remember the struggles she endured all alone because of the rude comments. It aggravated him, but he knew that he couldn't do anything to shut other people's mouths. All they can do is to support each other and be there when needed.

Aside from the painful confrontation, Jake recalled Anna's wish to have a child. These were the words he thought would be too hard to hear from his wife, considering the suffering she encountered. However, listening to her admit sincerely once again made Jake shudder in happy tears.

Without disturbing her dream, Jake inched closer to plant a kiss gently on Anna's cheeks. Anna stirred her lashes to feel something warm embracing her, but Jake quickly withdrew from waking her up. Instead, he quietly got out of his bed and went to the bathroom. He then got ready to step outside to get something special to surprise his wife.

When Anna finally opened her eyes, she felt her exhausted body lazing dormant on the bed. She picked herself up to lean back against the pillow while rubbing her eyes to look around. Her gaze traveled to reach Jake's side, which was empty. Anna assumed if he had woke up early to leave the bed. Regardless, what stood in his spot is a bouquet of red roses, and a smile broke out on Anna's face instantly. She picked it up to smell the pretty flowers, getting dragged into their enchanting scent. Along with the roses, there was a card that carried Jake's handwriting.

Anna plucked it out of the bouquet to read.
