379 Everyone's Christmas Morning - Part 3

Name:Get Back to You Author:ljack_ace
It's a new development for Jenna this year because she got invited to spend Christmas at her grand uncle's house. He had requested her along with Jenna's eldest aunt, who proposed the idea. She originally wanted to have Jenna at her place, but recognizing how all of their presence is new to Jenna's life, the eldest aunt considered approaching her uncle.

Jenna's grand-uncle welcomed the idea with an open heart. He vaguely remembered asking Jenna to spend the holidays, but due to his age, he forgot about it. It made him thank his eldest niece for not ignoring the poor child Jade left behind.

Jenna accepted the invitation to visit her grand-uncle's place, who settled in Staten Island. It was her first time meeting her cousins, who, from one glance, appeared to belong to a different world. They all received an academic education, receiving their technical degrees to work for the corporate giants and companies.

However, Jenna chose literature to become an editor in the publishing house. Although she had seen growth in her career, she still remained in the same position for a long time. It is only natural in her line of work. It takes time to climb the ladder.

Not that it matters at the moment because her cousins seem friendly to approach. They all chatted and mingled to celebrate as one big family together. It was the first time for Jenna to be around a group of people she could call her relatives.

They were her family, slowly reaching out to reunite with her. Jenna was also aware of her youngest aunt's disapproval. She had heard it from the eldest during one of their phone conversations.

"She will come eventually- Jenna," the eldest aunt appealed.

She didn't want Jenna to bore any bitterness in return for their continuing hostility. But Jenna didn't care to worry, for there are still people who accept her without expectations. Their sincere efforts made Jenna remember Jade on Christmas morning. She was grateful for everything her grandmother did, including the newly forged bonds she came to know after her demise.

"Jenna! Breakfast is ready! Come on," the eldest aunt called for her. Jenna followed to join everyone at the table. Despite missing her grandmother so much, Jenna made sure to treasure this moment and cherish these people more from now onwards.
