Chapter 1088: Searching

After the war ended, Alex was standing in front of the Beast God. Behind him, Lin Xingzhi, Sullivan, and the others, including his wives, stood next to each other, showing their status. Of course, Sherry was among one of them.

Alex cupped his hand politely and said, "I would like to thank the Beast God for taking care of my wife."

"No, no. It's my job." The Beast God hurriedly replied. It felt awkward since it was their first meeting.

Glancing at Sherry, he knew what to do. "Since everything is our fault to begin with, I will hand over the right of Array God's territories to you."

*Gasp—* The princes and princesses dropped their jaws, never expecting Alex to hand the right just like that. To be honest, if Eulja moved from the start with their full force, the Array God would be extinguished even without their help.

Besides, only the Beast God could kill his opponent while the other Rank 2 Gods were killed by Eulja. Hence, it was kind of inappropriate to get everything.

However, it had a different meaning to Alex. He wanted to use this chance to show the worth of Sherry in his eyes. She was priceless. Even all the territories containing tens of billions of Spirit Crystals were not worth it than a single life.

"However, we have another enemy besides the Array God. It's a past enemy, so I would like to search for a clue in the Array God's temple for a while. Just lend me that building for a few weeks. You can even start stationing your people in that world." Alex smiled.

"Please don't request something like that. We have been the ones receiving the favor. It's just something minor, if you even want the entire planet, I would have given it to you." The Beast God scratched his head, feeling embarrassed.

At the same time, arresting his disappointing son in his room during the whole war seemed to be the right choice because he wouldn't ruin this talk.

"In that case, I and the others will clean up the process and start the investigation as soon as possible."

"Ye-yes." Even though Alex was only a Rank 5 God, he felt like Alex had been the one in charge of this conversation from the beginning. It might be due to the people behind him, but Alex's aura alone really made many words stuck in his throat.

"Then I won't impose you any longer." Alex cupped his hand before snapping his finger, creating a Teleportation Array below them.

"…" When they disappeared, they didn't know why but their mind felt refreshed in that instant.

Still, the Beast God let out a long sigh. Despite winning so much, this might be the last time he talked with the Spirit God. After all, he had delivered something worth more than one person, albeit it was only in ordinary people's eyes.

For those who knew about the Spirit God's true personality, they were worthless compared to one of his wives or family members.

"All of you. Let's clean up the battlefield and return." The Beast God's voice was tired, melting his sons and daughters' hearts.

"Yes, Father." They cupped their hands and answered in unison.

Meanwhile, the Cat Princess could only look at the horizon, thinking about Sherry and Alex. Sherry had been under her care this whole time, so there was still a lingering attachment to her, albeit she believed it was not possible to meet her anymore unless the opportunity arrived.

As soon as they arrived, Alex was greeted by Zerah. She had a pair of thunder wings behind her. "Your Majesty."

"How is the situation?" Alex smiled and nodded.

"All Rank 2 Gods have gone. We are starting to clean up all the planets around this place, making sure there was no chain of revenge from this place. If we continue at this rate, we should be able to finish within five days."

Alex thought for a moment and turned around. "Anyone want to fight?"

Surprisingly, all his spirits and wives, except Lin Xingzhi, raised their hands. The Five Guardians, except for William and Carissa, decided to accompany them.

"How about you, Lilda?"

"If I may be selfish, I would like to take a look at Array God's home to check about his array books." Lilda cupped her hand politely, requesting to be allowed to follow Alex.

"Alright." Alex nodded in agreement before turning to Sullivan. "What about you?"

"I am not sure about this, Your Majesty. I started to like Queen Sherry after accompanying her. If she goes out, I will do my best to protect her. Of course, if Your Majesty has a different plan, I will comply."

"No, it's fine. I have learned from Lin Xingzhi that you have been teaching her many things. I would like you to continue doing so. For now, I don't need a bodyguard or something since I want to progress as quickly as possible."

"I understand. I shall protect her with my life on the line." Sullivan bowed politely.

Alex's vision then returned to Zerah. "Call a few people from N Squad to investigate the building. The rest can continue handling the enemies."

"Yes, Sir." Zerah politely cupped her hand.

The next second, all those who planned to go disappeared, following Zerah since she knew about the whole situation.

"William, Carissa, you don't mind helping the investigation, right? Or you want to recover your power first?"

"This old bone is strong. Although my energy hasn't been restored, my physical body is good enough. I am planning to rejoin the battle after two or three days," answered William with confidence.

"Ah, I am planning to sed—Ahem, accompany Your Majesty."

"It's too late to correct it, Carissa. Seduce him?" Lin Xingzhi narrowed her eyes.

Carissa only looked away and replied. "I mean, I can find poison in this place. According to His Majesty, the monster is the snake, so there might be poison somewhere. I can locate it."

"Sure. Please help me." Alex nodded with a smile.

"Yes. Leave it to me."

"Anyway, let's go." Alex waved his hand and flew toward the Array God's home.

It turned out that his home looked like a city. It was so big to the point that his castle looked tiny.

In the center of the city, Alex spotted a giant mansion, filling twenty percent of this city.

Next to the mansion stood a tall tower. It looked like a black pagoda, but if one took another look, they would find it was protected by an array to bar everyone from entering. Unfortunately, his force had destroyed the array, so only half of the array remained.

"I have heard that Sun Gong has a collection of Array Books in a tower… I think that's the tower." Lilda's eyes brightened as she exclaimed in amazement.

"You can go there. Just be careful."

"Yes, Sir." Lilda made a big smile and sped up, heading straight toward the tower.

As soon as Lilda entered the building, his head turned to the mansion as they landed right at the center of the mansion. "I think we can separate from here."

"I will go to the west then." William quickly chose a direction because he didn't want to get in Lin Xingzhi's way.

"Then, I will be the opposite of you. I will go to the east." Carissa walked toward their right playfully like it was normal, but Lin Xingzhi just noticed her real intention.

"As expected of a Poison Master, her brain is also a poison." Lin Xingzhi pouted and chose to go to the south since Alex would enter from the very front. Usually, she would go to the east so she would get the shortest distance to Alex, but Carissa had beaten her.

Alex shook his head helplessly and entered the building in front of him. The building itself was close to a Japanese Wooden Castle.

Most of the interior was made of strong wood but gave a relaxed feeling. The roof was blue and windows appeared every few meters.

Alex activated his Spirit Eyes to check whether there was hidden energy or not but to no avail.

"Time to go then." Alex sighed while carrying his sword on his waist. "Accompany me, Eve."

"Hehe, I have been waiting for you to say that, Master." Eve suddenly came out of the sword, floating next to him. "This is the first time I enter such an amazing building other than your castle. And I feel this place has dense energy."

"It's due to the array below us." Alex pointed his finger to the ground." There is a formation of a few Rank 9 Gathering Arrays underground, extracting a Spirit Mine. To not waste the resource, there is supposed to be a barrier in this city, preventing the Spiritual Energy from escaping, but it must have been destroyed during the battle."

"No wonder. Anyway, I will be helping you search every single room together." Eve smiled.

"Thank you." Alex nodded as they entered the building.

The first thing they saw was a corridor, leading to three ways: left, right, and forward. He thought he would meet either William or Carissa, so he decided to go forward.

The corridor had nothing exciting to him since it only had red carpet, windows, and paintings. Alex kept walking until he arrived in a large room with two doors next to him and one big open room.

"…" Alex waved his hand, using his energy to open the two doors. The right one seemed to lead him to a  library since he saw many books there while the left one was a kitchen.

In other words, his current direction had been decided. He entered the room in his front, leading to a working area. There were so many papers lying around as if they were sorting something before Eulja's invasion.

At the end of the working area were two giant doors that piqued Alex's curiosity.

"Master… That one is very suspicious." Eve narrowed her eyes, having the same thought.

"Yeah. Let's go." Alex nodded in agreement, walking toward the door.

As soon as he opened it, he arrived inside a room bigger than the office that could hold more than a hundred people. He could only find a couple of bookshelves, a pair of tables and chairs with many piles of documents on top of it, and a resting area filled with a couch and bed.

Alex took out the Space Ring that Sun Gongming gave and summoned all the research papers inside it.

"Can you help me search for anything important in this room? I am going to read these papers first to gain a clue of what I want to specifically find." Alex smiled and sat on the chair.

"I thought you were going to do it with me." Eve pouted.

"Ahaha. I will after reading all these. It will only take three hours…"

"Fine." Eve sighed and began to move around the room while Alex started reading the documents.
