43 Departure

Name:Dragon Ball: New Life Author:draykan
Jimmy Firecracker shook his head several times to wake himself from the daze he was experiencing from the explosion. It didn't last long, but it appeared as though the sky had gained a second sun. The reporter spotted Raditz standing near his allies. Hoping to get an interview with the emperor, Jimmy grabbed his cameraman and asked Tights to follow him over.

Raditz, back in his normal form, felt drained from his new Super Saiyan transformation. He still hadn't completely mastered it, and this battle was the first time it was field tested. Everyone offered their congratulations for managing to defeat Cell. They were shocked by the level of power Raditz reached after transforming.

"So, you discovered the form beyond a Super Saiyan." Kakarot guessed. When he trained with Gohan in the Room of Spirit and Time, he believed that remaining in the Super Saiyan form at all times to master it would allow them to go to the next level. Neither of them achieved it, but he felt they were close.

"Yes we can call it Super Saiyan Two." Raditz explained.

Kakarot immediately liked the name of the new transformation. He was ready to get back to training to obtain the form for himself. Vegeta rejoined the group before the reporters and Mr. Satan arrived. He, once again, had to face the fact Raditz not only became a Super Saiyan before him, but also went to the next stage before him.

"Your Majesty," Jimmy and his crew quickly bowed. "Could we please ask for a short interview."

"Of course, ask your questions." Raditz saw that Tights was with them, so he decided to let the interview happen. Plus, if he was seen as a hero by the people of the Earth, it could only help later.

"Is the threat of Cell over, Your Majesty?" Jimmy politely asked.

"Yes," Raditz answered, "I sent him into space, then vaporized him."

"Into sp-space?" Jimmy's voiced cracked in fear and confusion. He thought he misheard what the emperor had said.

"Yes, I used a Ki beam to push him into space." Raditz reconfirmed his answer, which didn't help relieve Jimmy of his shock. "You are familiar with Ki techniques, are you not?"

"Yes, your Majesty." Jimmy nodded. He was familiar with the concept of Ki techniques, most people on Earth were, but Ki attacks strong enough to blast people into space was a different story.

"Your Majesty, Why did you personally answer the challenge of Cell?" Tights asked.

"Earth is part of the Prometheus Empire. Therefore, as emperor, it is my duty to make sure threats to worldsunder my protection are handled efficiently and that they remain safe. Cell was an exceptional threat which required my strength to solve." he answered trying to look as heroic as possible. If he could, he would have taken the acting skills of Mr. Satan to make certain Earth remained behind him.

After a few more questions and words of thanks, the news crew departed the area to head back to the ZTV office. When the news chopper lifted off, the group off warriors decided to relocate to Kami's Lookout, leaving behind Mr. Satan. The Champ realized through what occurred, that he wasn't nearly as strong as some of the other beings in the world. His tournament win made him think he was at the pinnacle of martial arts.

At Kami's Lookout, Eschalot let everyone know that her goal was successfully accomplished. The cyborgs were officially gone and she was confident that with her strength now, she could handle the cyborgs in her timeline. There was no reason for her to remain in the past any longer, so she needed to say her goodbyes.

"Make sure you watch out for Cell when you get back." Raditz warned the girl.

"Thanks for the warning, Your Majesty." the blonde girl cheerfully answered. "You were stronger than the stories said."

"Good." Raditz walked away from the girl.

"Training with you was amazing, Dad. I never thought I would get the chance to see you, but we actually got two years together." she said to Vegeta.

Vegeta seemed to be completely unprepared for his daughters statement.

"Your mother is waiting for you to defeat the cyborgs." was his answer.

Eschalot smiled, and with one last goodbye, flew off in the direction of her time-machine. She really was going to miss this time period, not to mention she managed to see her father, but she missed her chance to speak to her young mother. It was too bad they never got a chance to speak, but she could tell her about it in the future. The cyborgs wouldn't be a match for her. It still would take some time before the resistance put a stop to the entire cyborg army, but now the main threats could be handled.

When he convinced Dende to alter the Room of Spirit and Time to allow for multiple uses, Vegeta left for Omori's Island. Dende promised after reactivated the Dragon Balls, and he wished back the people killed by Cell, he would fulfill Vegeta's request. The new Kami estimated that it would take, at the minimum, six months to get the Dragon Balls back.

Raditz was looking over the edge of the Lookout when Bardock walked over to stand beside him.

"You never cease to impress me." Bardock praised. "I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I thought you and Kakarot would only be middle and low class warriors."

"Is that a compliment?" Raditz asked.

"When you learned the Riot Javelin and the flying technique so quickly, I realized you were talented. I never imagined you would be a Super Saiyan Emperor." Bardock continued.

As Raditz listen to his father talk, he realized this was probably the longest conversation they had. He also thought that it had been awhile since he last visited his mother. Kakarot walked over to join the conversation.

"Brother, you got time to spar?" Kakarot asked, "I was disappointed I didn't get to fight. Neither did Gohan, he could've use the experience."

"You're that confident you could beat Cell?" Raditz asked.

"No, I would've been at a disadvantage, but it would've been fun." Kakarot laughed, "If I lost, you could've given Cell a Panacea, then fought him after."

The emperor was still amazed by his brother's negligence towards opponents. Kakarot was completely willingly to give an enemy a healing item to make a fight more fun.

"Alright, I'll spar with you Kakarot. I have some free time." Raditz agreed to his brother's request.

The air around the Lookout was disturbed by the thundering sounds of impacts from the sparing brothers. Reiss and Gohan watch from the Lookout as their fathers fought in the sky above them. Kakarot was clearly trying to push his brother into using his new found power. Raditz was battling in his normal Super Saiyan form. Although he was winning, his power wasn't too much higher than his brother's.

Finding he was still lacking, Kakarot began to use his new Kaio-ken against Raditz. It was a smart move, because he started to overwhelm his brother with his power. Tired of being pushed back, Raditz exploded into his Ape Power form to contend with his brother's use of Kaio-ken.

When the spar was over, Kakarot was satisfied with the progress he made in his training. He ultimately lost against Raditz, but did better than anticipated. If he was capable of using Kaio-ken ten or higher as a Super Saiyan, then he stood a good chance of making his brother use his new form.

After witnessing their fathers spar, Reiss and Gohan decided to have a spar themselves. Kakarot was interested in watching their fight, but Raditz was uninterested. Their grandfather Bardock was also curious about the outcome of the fight.

"You think Reiss will easily win?" Kakarot asked. "Gohan has a lot of hidden potential, and he can be stubborn."

"Reiss could win easily, he is monstrously talented." Raditz answered. He confirmed Reiss's capabilities on multiple occasions, and training the Room of Spirit and Time was no exception.

"I guess he gets that from you." Bardock laughed.

Raditz shook his head, "No he learns faster than me."

When he was trying to teach Reiss to become a Super Saiyan, the boy managed to achieve the state in just over two hours. The most impressive part was, after Raditz finally became a Super Saiyan 2, his son pulled it off after a short explanation. Reiss claimed after he felt what being Super Saiyan was like and seeing that Super Saiyan Two was possible, it wasn't hard to get "a feel" for it.

The benefit of Reiss talent was that Raditz could always have someone to train against. The downside was, if he didn't stay motivated, his son could quickly surpass him. It wasn't a bad thing, because it meant his empire would have another strong ruler.

The spar between the children ended much faster than their fathers'. Reiss, as Raditz said, easily obtained the victory once he started trying. He took it easy at first as to not completely over power his cousin from the beginning.

Later that evening, Raditz and his son arrived on the Menagerie to celebrate the victory against the cyborg threat. Bulma listened as the animated Reiss retold the story of how everything happened. After listening to his explanation, she was sorry she missedout on the event. Raditz assured her that their would be another crisis on Earth that she could witness up close.

"How do you know the Earth is going to get attacked again?" she asked. Reiss turned to listen because he was curious as to how his father would know.

"Something always happens to the Earth," Raditz shrugged, "It has been attacked more than any planet in the empire. For whatever reason, Earth is unlucky"

When she thought about it, Bulma had to agree with his assessment. Earth had been getting attack since she was a child. Reiss left to go talk about his adventure on Earth to other crew members, leaving his parents alone.

The interview with ZTV aired the following day. The Menagerie was able to receive the transmission so Raditz and Bulma could watch it together. The program was call Interview with the Hero, Emperor Prometheus Raditz.

"What's with the Prometheus Raditz, thing?" the emperor asked his wife. He heard Cell refer to him as that on TV, but now ZTV is doing it too.

"Are they now using the empire's name as my family name?" Raditz thought. Thinking about the only Saiyan to actually have a family name was Kakarot.

After spending a month with his wife, Raditz explained that he would be gone for awhile to train. He power level of Cell had him worried about the strength of the future threats. Cell was way stronger than he should've been because of the changes to history. If the trend continued, then there is no telling how much stronger he will need to get.

"Reiss will be able to help you out while I'm gone." Raditz said. "I'll come back whenever I have time. I got the hang of the Instant Transmission now."

"It doesn't help that you have no idea how long you will be gone." Bulma didn't like inaccurate predictions.

"Like I said, I'm not sure how long it will take, but I need to get stronger to make sure our empire stays intact." Raditz was honest. "If it wasn't for the existence of the Room of Spirit and Time, we all would have been in trouble."

"Okay, I got it. I married a Saiyan after all." Bulma sighed.

He smiled and headed out to prepare for the future enemies waiting to attempt to destroy the work he and Bulma put into their empire. Raditz loaded into his shuttle after saying goodbye to Bulma and initiated the startup sequence.

"Menagerie, do you have the coordinates to the homeworld of the deceased Ginyu Force member known as Guldo?" Raditz asked.
