Looking at Jocelyn’s speechless expression, Eliza was convinced.

“You’re right.”

“You’re the most conservative person I’ve seen. Moreover, with the example of your father having an affair, | believe that you won’t do the same thing as him.”

Eliza supported her chin with her hand. Her expression was serious and still carried some curiosity and inquiry.

“But if my guess is wrong, what is the correct answer?”

Eliza leaned closer to look at Jocelyn. Her dark green eyes were fixed on her. They were like a dense forest, filled with danger and exuberant vitality, mysterious and tempting.

“Darling, why don’t you tell me the right answer? If I don’t get the answer, I won’t be able to sleep at night and will have dark circles under my eyes the next day. This will ruin my beauty.”

“You don’t want me to become an ugly duckling, do you?”

Eliza grabbed Jocelyn’s sleeve and tugged it gently like a child who couldn’t get her hands on candy. She blinked her large eyes adorably.

However, Jocelyn still rejected her heartlessly. “I’m sorry, Eliza. | don’t know how to explain this to you. Can you give me some time to digest all this before I talk to you about it?”

Seeing Jocelyn’s tired and sad face, Eliza stopped making fun of her.

“Alright, you’re my good friend. I’m willing to listen to your thoughts at any time. But if you don’t want to say it, | won’t force you.”

“Everyone has their secrets, even if we’re best friends. Alright, don’t think too much. Have you eaten?”

As soon as Eliza asked, Jocelyn’s stomach started rumbling. When they were upstairs, Jocelyn was so angry with Aren that she rushed back to her ward without eating much of the food in front of her.

She had not eaten anything since the morning.

Hearing the sound from Jocelyn’s stomach, Eliza’s eyes widened. “Don’t tell me you haven’t eaten anything since morning!”

Jocelyn was shocked by Eliza’s suddenly raised voice.

“l actually ate a little, but I wasn’t full.” Jocelyn smiled shyly, which made Eliza roll her eyes.

“You’re already injured, and you still don’t know how to take care of yourself. I really don’t know what to say to you.” Eliza reached out and poked Jocelyn’s head fiercely, leaving a red finger mark on her snow-white

forehead. Only then did she put her hand away in satisfaction.

“Next time I catch you not eating on time, I’ll punch you!” Eliza said and raised her fist.

“Is there anything you want to eat? I’ll go buy it for you,” Eliza asked. She pulled out the notepad on her phone and prepared to punch down what Jocelyn wanted to eat.

“I want to eat apple pie. Just buy me some.” Jocelyn wanted to eat something sweet to calm herself down.

“Then wait here for me for a while. I’ll buy it for you right away.” Eliza shook her hair and stood up from Jocelyn’s bed. When she walked to the door, she didn’t forget to return and remind Jocelyn, “Don’t turn off your

phone again!”

Only when Jocelyn nodded in agreement did Eliza disappear from her sight.

After Eliza left, the faint smile on Jocelyn’s face disappeared completely. The expressionless face made Jocelyn look like a glass doll that was at risk of shattering at any moment.

In the VIP ward.

With Jocelyn gone, Aren took two bites of the food in front of him. It was a dish made by a top-notch chef, but he didn’t have any appetite at all.

It was as if the food in front of him had suddenly lost its deliciousness.

All of this was Jocelyn’s fault!

If she didn’t throw a tantrum when she was eating, she wouldn’t have ruined his good mood and made him lose his appetite.

“Women are really troublesome,” Aren mumbled to himself.

Aren threw his fork and knife on the dining table, making a crisp sound.

He didn’t know which of his words made Jocelyn unhappy. He was obviously telling the truth. Did she not want to listen to the truth?

Do women all like to hear lies?

Just as Aren was deep in thought, his phone rang. A melodious violin tune sounded from his phone.

At this moment, someone was calling him.

Looking at the caller ID on the screen, Aren pressed the answer button.

“What’s the matter?”
