Chapter 116 - Bait The Culprit

Thomas felt the heavy impact and heat on his back as his shirt and skin ripped, blood seeped out instantly.

"Thomas." Ivy was pushed and embraced by Thomas and as she turned she noticed the tear in his shirt then the dark red blood stood out against the white shirt and made a ghastly sight.

"Teo go check the area, find them." Thomas still held Ivy protectively as he ordered Teo to search for the perpetrator. He didn't let her go in fear of another unseen attack.

"Thomas let's go and get you seen at the hospital first. Come on please, your back needs treatment." Ivy felt fearful when she saw the size of the brick. If it had of hit her she would have been in a vegetative state or died with the impact.

She was thankful for her friend but also worried about his injury.

Thomas nodded and they both headed for the car, all the while being vigilant for further dangers.

Teo returned out of breath and saw Ivy helping Thomas into the back of the car. Thomas lay down in the back seat. He was happy he had managed to save Ivy. She was a precious friend and he would do anything to keep her safe.

Ivy jumped in the front passenger seat once she saw Teo she shouted, "Hospital... let's go."

"Right." Teo jumped in the car and they drove off to the hospital.

Thomas turned to Teo, "Did you catch them?"

Teo drove quickly and answered, "No I am sorry I failed. By the time I had got to the roof, there was no one there and I didn't see anyone on the ladders. It seemed they had escaped quickly. I'm useless." Teo hung his head.

"You did a great job, don't worry about it. I think we all know who it is." Ivy answered.

"You do who?" Asked Teo

Ivy glanced in the back seat at Thomas, "I'm sure you noticed it too, from the minute we pulled out of the underground carpark at Noah's penthouse we were followed. Just to check I got out and went to grab a coffee. I made small talk with Bella to see who was following but I couldn't see their face. I wasn't sure what they wanted but I didn't think they wanted me dead."

Thomas nodded, "Yes, I had noticed as well and knew you would want to bait the culprit. But I think we all know it's Governor Anna. Now she will know who you are Ivy. Are you okay with that?"

Thomas was in pain but it wasn't that bad he had been through worse than this before and this amount of pain he could handle. He just needed to be patched up and a new shirt and he would be good to go again.

Teo pulled up at the accident and emergency doors and Thomas and Ivy got out.

Ivy spoke to Teo as she followed Thomas inside, "Inform Aiden, wait for us. We won't be long."

Thomas and Ivy walked straight to the VIP ward where they saw Dr Stewart standing at the bottom of the corridor.

Dr Stewart sighed and teased, "Thomas what happened now?"

Ivy felt guilty, "It is my fault, he saved me and got hurt instead."

Dr Stewart shook his head, what would he do with these two, "Follow me to exam room four."

Ivy went inside with Thomas and Dr Stewart. Thomas took off his shirt and Ivy felt for him, his shirt stuck to his wounds and although he didn't show his pain but Ivy felt it for him.

"I'm sorry." Ivy saw the blood-red gashes down his back and her heart hurt for him.

Dr Stewart put on his gloves and started to tend to Thomas quickly.

"Seriously Ivy it is okay don't worry about it. I am just glad it was me and not you." Thomas didn't want Ivy to feel guilty any longer.

Silence ensued as Dr Stewart finished up his treatment with Thomas taking off his gloves, "All done, keep your dressings dry. Luckily it is just a superficial wound."

"Thanks, doc," Thomas answered.

"Thank you, Doctor Stewart." Ivy thanked Dr Stewart as he nodded and left the exam room.

Just then Teo arrived at the door with a spare shirt for Thomas.

"Thanks, bud." Thomas thanked Teo.

Once Thomas was dressed in a new white shirt they all headed back to the car together. No one knew what to say as they were all deep in thought about what had happened this morning. They all got in the car and Teo turned to Thomas, "You okay?"

"It is just a scratch, I have been through worse." Thomas shrugged and glanced out the window. He was thinking about Anna and what she would possibly do next. The boss wouldn't be happy about today and Anna couldn't escape his wrath.

"So where too?" Teo asked Thomas and Ivy.

"The Ivy, we all need to regroup and eat," Ivy answered concisely.

Two-headed to the restaurant it was a short half-hour drive and when they arrived they all got out together. Ivy went to the back of the car and took out Thomas's laptop and then joined the two men as they walked in.

Pierce saw Ivy arrive and he immediately walked up to her and hugged her.

Teo was about to grab Pierce but Thomas indicated that it was okay.

Ivy was happy and embraced her friend in a hug and smiled at him cheerfully.

"Hey Pierce, the place looks amazing and you are so busy. I will have three of something tasty and a private room." Ivy requested

Pierce beamed at Ivy and showed her to one of the private rooms. Ivy hadn't been here since the opening but it seemed brighter and bigger since then. Pierce was doing so well just like she had thought he would.

They all took a seat inside the private room, it was decorated tastefully with simple bright colours and they had a view of the outside garden on one side.
