Chapter 66 - The Woman He Deeply Truly Wanted

Her nanny was giving out one thing after another to Thomas and Aiden to put in the car. Ivy saw the Foxford blankets of all kinds, from sturdy wools to luxurious mohair's, in more contemporary styles and traditional Irish tartans. There was also a set of Waterford Crystal glassware. As well as several Aran sweaters for each of them to wear.

To her nanny, no trip is complete without picking up a substantial woollen sweater to fend off the bitter cold. Each stitch is steeped in tradition and symbolism. The cable knits signify fishermen's ropes and a wish for a bountiful catch; diamond stitches invoke the Irish moss farmers use to fertilize fields, and zig-zag stitches recall the craggy cliffs along Ireland's coast.

"I'll make more it'll give me something to do. They may not be very good but it'll keep you all warm."

Her nanny was happy to do this for her granddaughter and anyone who treated her well would also look after her.

"No this is great, thanks, Sheila." Thomas was excited he was included in the gifts. Ivy could only roll her eye's as she knew when they left her nanny would make sure they had more to take away on their next visit.

All packed up Ivy gave one last hug to each of her grandparents and said goodbye. She got into the car and Noah sped down the driveway. She looked back to see her grandparents holding each other. They had the forever type of love that people craved and searched for.

Ivy sat back and gave Noah directions to the lake. Noah drove slowly so Ivy could take in the sights. Noah had wanted to see where she lived and hung out. He wasn't part of her past but will be her future. Her past though he was greedy enough to want to be part of it as well. So when she thought of her grandparent's house or the lake she would picture him there with her and not her past.

Parking at the lakeside they got out. It was warm and sunny, Ivy stretched and soaked up the sun rays and fresh air. Noah's arm came around her small waist wrapping her up and pulling her closer. Aiden and Thomas got out of there car and stayed behind the two lovers watching.

After walking a while Ivy stopped and looked out on the lake it was calm and steady. Only ducks made it ripple as they swam. Ivy pointed. "That's the tree from the photo you saw in my room. I used to sit under it to get shade in the summer and keep warm from the wind in the autumn. This is my favourite place."

Ivy's smile was bright and carefree she looked younger and more carefree in this spot than Noah had ever seen her. Noah very uncharacteristically sent a txt to Aiden.

Aiden herd his phone buzz and checked it, he was surprised for a moment then looked over and caught on to what Noah meant. Ivy looked beautiful and Noah wanted to capture it for himself. Aiden took discreet photos of not just Ivy but of the two of them. Noah was showing his rare Ivy smile watching the girl stare at him and then the lake. The moment was peaceful and beautiful.

Aiden made a note to himself to take pictures of these two whenever they had a rare moment like this. Here there was no CEO Noah Adler there was just a man that was enchanted by his love.

Ivy then took out something from her back pocket. She quickly placed it in Noah's breast pocket of his suit. "Don't look, it's for good luck. My nana gave one to my grandpa and this is now yours. It's an Irish Celtic love cross." Ivy looked at the lake she blushed as she told him. "There's a saying that goes with it."

"May your heart be light and happy, may your smile be big and wide and may your pockets always have a coin or two inside. May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live."

After she recited the old poem her nana had once said to her grandpa she hid behind her hair. "It's silly but do me a favour and keep it close for luck."

Noah was speechless which was rare and even rarer he smiled a wide smile as he fixed Ivy's hair which hid her face and pulled her close to his chest.

"I will always keep it close." Noah kissed the top of her head. He could see the tips of Ivy's ear had turned pinkish with her slight blush. He wanted to see more so he lifted her head and kissed her. It was a passionate, butterfly in the stomach and igniting a fire in your heart type of kiss. Noah broke the kiss and leaned back slightly with his eyes locked on Ivy's. He stated at her lips they were red with his kiss and she nipped it with her teeth. It made Noah want to take her then and there. He smirked, "Let me see if I can kiss you deep enough to take your breath away."

Ivy was not prepared for this suddenly heated exchange. She felt her body sway to his every move anticipating what would be next.

He was kissing the woman he deeply truly wanted. She was his drug, so addictive and nothing else quite like it. A kiss so hot and so deep you never want to come up for air. He hoped in that one kiss, Ivy would know all he hadn't said but felt for her.

But he let her go, smiled again. Which indeed stole her breath. She caught her breath and took his offered hand as they went back to the car.

Meanwhile, Thomas was left not knowing where to look as this moment was indeed something he didn't expect from his boss. Aiden too had to eat dog food while he snapped photos. In everything his boss asked him to do, he would do it but this was testing an old single man like himself.
