Chapter 954 You Make Me Feel Sick

Zed was about to open the door, but then his cell phone suddenly rang, so he immediately picked up the phone and found that it was Jean calling. Then he pressed the 'Answer' button in surprise.

"Is everything all right, Jean?" he asked in a soft voice.

At that moment Julie came to the door and opened it. To her surprise, she saw Jean standing outside.

Jean was just as shocked to see Julie in Zed's office. At that moment, Jean could hear Zed's voice on her cell phone.

"Hello? Jean?"

Jean removed the phone from her ear and spoke into the microphone, "I don't know where my keys are. I need to get something from home. Please lend me the key."

Zed was stunned to hear her voice coming from outside of the door. Then he turned back and found Jean and Julie standing at the door. Jean's sudden appearance was like a thunderbolt out of a clear sky for Zed.

"J... Jean..." With a trembling voice, he looked at her in bewilderment.

Now he wouldn't be able to explain himself in any way. Julie was in his office, so all his explanations would be futile.

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward. They just stared at each other for a few seconds, and neither of them spoke. At that very moment, it felt like time had stood still.

"Can you please give me the key?" Jean said, breaking the silence.

Zed snapped out of his stupor and quickly went to her with the key. "You're my wife, so of course, you can have the key. What is it that you need? Let me go with you." Zed glanced at Julie standing next to him and said coldly, "Aren't you going to the accounting department to settle your salary? You can go now!"

"Okay." Julie understood what Zed meant, so she nodded her head and walked out of Zed's office.

"Give me the key." Jean reached out to take the key from Zed while staring at him with cold eyes.

With an awkward smile, he held her hand instead of giving her the key. "I said that I'm going back with you."

Jean knitted her eyebrows, then she pulled her hand back from his palm with great force. She asked with a sneer in a mocking tone, "Why are you going back with me? Are you afraid that I'll steal your things if I go back alone?"

"Of course not! Why would you think that?" Hearing Jean's words, Zed looked at her with a helpless expression. Then he reached out and gently stroked

It all starts on that fateful night.

When Ella, who is the dear sister of Samuel’s best buddy, sneaks into the hotel where the drunken Samuel resides and gets pregnant…

"I don’t want a divorce!"

"I don’t want a divorce!"

"I did no such thing!"

Ella jumped on the bed and cried out. “I don’t want a scheming woman as my wife. Just sign the paper...

.

Not long after she got in the taxi and left, Zed had arrived home.

"Jean," he called out loudly as the door was locked.

His phone buzzed.

He received a message. He immediately took out his cell phone and found that the text message was from Jean.

"The key is under the vase. As for the divorce agreement, I'll send it to you in several days' time."

The cold words had pierced his heart like a sharp knife. Zed lifted the vase and retrieved the keys.

Giving out a helpless sigh, Zed walked out of the courtyard sadly with the keys in his hand.

He started the car and drove aimlessly along the road. Zed didn't know where he was going, what he was supposed to do, or even what he could do anymore.

His life seemed to be getting worse and worse. The problems that he had with Jean had pushed them further apart in opposite directions.

Zed had been driving aimlessly for hours, and it had become dark outside. He noticed that his car was almost out of fuel, so he parked at a pub nearby. He sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of a high-alcohol full-bodied wine. Zed kept filling his glass and gulped the wine down one glass after another until he finally collapsed unconsciously. The barman called an ambulance that took him to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.

During this time Jean was exercising at the gym. It was very late in the evening when the last customers had finally left the gym. Once they all left, Jean put on a pair of headphones listening to music with her mind blank while she began to vacuum the gym.
