Chapter 891 Arguments

"Whoa, man. Would you stop yelling at me? Your temper is really starting to get on my nerves," Zack retorted.

"The two of you just..." Jean stood helplessly as she was caught in the middle of the two men's clash. She wanted to stop them but she had no idea what to do at the moment.

She had dropped a hint at Zack, asking him to stop provoking Zed, but he did the exact opposite, which made the agreement spiral out of control.

Jean never thought that Zack would have ignored her warnings.

"If you're annoyed, why the hell are you still in my home? The door's open. No one's stopping you," Zed taunted back.

"Stop being so childish," Zack answered. A cold laugh came from him, devoid of even a trace of humor. "I know you're upset, but there is no need to make a big deal of things. I'm trying to be nice here and calm you down. But I won't be taking this treatment. If you insist on being rude, then I'll make sure to give it back to you."

At Zack's words, Zed shot him a glance and said, his words thick with sarcasm, "What? So I need to thank you now? What would you like me to do? Should I bow in recognition of your kindness? Or maybe you'd like for me to kiss your feet?"

Jean gaped at the two men, shocked wordless. She had never seen Zed being this furious before.

Even Zack's best efforts at calming him down seemed to have no effect. Instead, his patience just seemed to be tested as Zed acted and spoke out in his anger. Jean felt her anxiousness grow with every second. She had to do something, otherwise everything would blow up and there would be no coming back. "What happened, Zed? What are you mad at?" she attempted to ask.

"It's Uncle Simon..." Zack answered, frowning, but before he could explain further, Zed cut him off.

"Shut up, Zack! If I hear another fucking word out of your mouth, I will drag you and your officious ass out of my house. Trust me!"

he hissed as he stared at Zack, his face turning livid with rage.

Zack's expression turned dark, distaste written all over his face. His eyes were sharp as he looked at Zed. "I have been tolerating your temper for ages, Zed. I know you well, and I know how quick you are to anger. I've been taking all of your shit silently, but that won't be enough of an excuse for you to keep talking down to me." Zack clenched his fists and they shook with the force of his anger. "I'm no match to you physically, but that doesn't mean I won't fight back. Get up, asshole. Come on! Fight me!"

Jean paled with Zack's provocation. She leaped between the two of them, trying to prevent the two men's furies from touching and turning into a full-blown fistfight. "You two aren't kids anymore," she castigated even as her voice trembled. "Do you think that fighting could solve all your problems? What on earth had happened? Why don't you two just sit down and have a talk like goddamned adults? Be cool, both of you, okay? You're both acting like b

“Who does she think she is? I won’t marry her even if she is the last woman on earth,” said Hiram Rong.

“Marry into a family with tens of billions of assets? How lucky I am! I won’t be so foolish as to break off the engagement. At worst, I can receive money as part of the divorce settlement,” said Rachel Ruan.

Their great-grandfathers made a pact about their engagement a hundred years ago...

Simon's words brought him back to reality, and the force of his fall threatened to choke him with the impact.

"Zed..." Zack said, walking towards him and placing a hand on his shoulder heavily. "Don't overthink it. There are other things you have to think about too. Keep in mind why you're going back. You can't let anyone else take control of Sky International," Zack's grip tightened before he continued. "Don't forget what Uncle Simon had told you. Once he's gone, you don't need to show mercy to Aunt Sara..."

"Did Uncle Simon really say that?" Jean asked, her eyes wide in surprise.

"Yes. It was a shock even for me!" Zed nodded to Jean and sighed, "As I said before, it's not possible that Uncle Simon knew nothing about Aunt Sara's trick. He must have known something."

"Did you ask Uncle Simon if he knows Sara's men in Sky International?" Jean asked with concern.

"Oh, I forgot..." Zed said, sounding dazed.

Jean looked at him, noticing his absentmindedness and said, "Don't worry. It'll only take a bit of time to find out."

"We don't need to waste our energy to investigate it," Zack cut in. "If we think about it, Uncle Simon had no other option in that situation, so he let Aunt Sara do as she pleased. He is regretting that now. Earlier today, he told Zed that he didn't need to show Sara any mercy."

"Let's not jump to conclusions," Zed said, shaking his head. "I will talk to Uncle Simon."

"Sounds good! It's the best and most direct way to know what had happened." Jean nodded to show her agreement.

Zack gazed at them with a meaningful smile on his face. "It seems that you two have made a really good connection without my company. I'm getting jealous here, you know," he teased.

"Zack..." Jean said, chuckling, "You're gonna have to work hard to find yourself someone if you're feeling envious. Do you still remember what Grandpa told you?"

"Why are you saying this?" Zack's face suddenly changed.
