Chapter 485 - DRESSING UP FOR HIM

"No, Mommy. Don't go home yet." Jade called out to her as she chased after her mother to get back inside the house. "The apple isn't cook yet. If you leave now, what will we bring to Daddy?" She looked so adorable while holding onto Jillyanna's hands. Her eyes didn't even blink when she talked to her.

"Let's just bake some at home?" she suggested to her daughter. Looking at the two of them, it was like Jade was the mother who was stopping her daughter to see her boyfriend. The role was reversed!

Jade pulled her mother back inside the house. "No, we have to wait for it. First, daddy wants to eat an apple pie. Second, it is something that we made together. Third, we don't have enough ingredients at home." Jade reminded her mother while she was pulling her.

Jillyanna didn't have much of a choice so she went back inside following the cute little girl. Cielo laughed at her when she saw her situation. "It's good to have Jade around you. She can help you get back on track and not just go with whatever you're thinking."

"Yeah. She may not be our biological daughter but she is really a lot like Travis. Their attitude was the same as well."

"She learns quickly and learning from her father is the best way." Cielo chuckled when she saw how grumpy her sister was. "Don't worry, you just have to wait a little."

They waited for another half an hour for the apple pie to cook. Actually, it was already cooked but Jade didn't tell her. She didn't know what else to occupy her mother. She sat on a stool chair and placed her chin on her palm while watching her grandmother make some fruit juice for her.

While she was thinking what else to do, an idea popped in her mind. Since they were planning to surprise her, and since it was a belated birthday surprise, Jade decided to help her mother dress up for the occasion. It wouldn't be suitable if she comes home and find out that everyone was all waiting for her, and she's wearing simple clothes.

Jade climb down from the chair and ran towards the living room. She knew that her father would prepare a dress for her mother when she comes back but, she wanted to buy more time for them and this was the only way she could think of. "Mommy, the apple is almost baked."

"That's good to hear. We can go back home soon." Jillyanna responded which made her daughter sigh internally. How long has it been that she left the house? It wasn't a month or a week! It was only half a day and she was already missing him so much.

Jade kept her act and smiled at her mom. "Do you want to give Daddy a surprise?" Jade asked her.

"What are you up to?" Cielo and Jillyanna asked in unison. Cielo knew about the surprise but she was acting like she didn't know anything and decided to support Jade with whatever that comes to mind.

"I was just thinking that Mommy wasn't able to come out of the house this past few months. Daddy had been very strict as well. Why don't you dress up and once we're home, you can ask Daddy to bring you out on a date."

Jillyanna knocked her daughter's head when she heard her statement. "Where did you learn this nonsense? I know your Daddy. If he says he won't, then he won't. He might bring me out on a date but that would be a date outside the house. Probably at the back garden or in the front yard under the mango tree that we have."

"Mommy, you just have to understand that Daddy is doing what is good for you. You know how scary it is to watch someone in a brink of death, right?"

This made Jillyanna think back on the past few months. On the day that they registered their marriage, he almost died because of her. That time, her heart broke apart whenever he was sent to the ICU. She even decided to live in the hospital despite her pregnancy. She was really scared back then. Every time she heard the faltering 'beeping' sound, her heart would lurch on her throat, chocking her from her tears and fear.

Jillyanna watched her daughter in silence. She reached out her hand and pulled Jade in a hug. "You are right. It is scary and I must have scared him so much."

"Not only Daddy but, you scared all of us Mom."

"I'm sorry." Jillyanna whispered to her.

"Do you understand now why Daddy is very strict to you? If I remember correctly, Uncle Shein told me that you were very strict to Daddy when he came out of the hospital as well."

"Hn. I understand. You don't have to lecture Mommy anymore."

Jade hugged her mommy back and kissed her cheeks. "Once you become strong again, Daddy will allow you to come out and have fun."

"Jade is really sweet and understanding." Cielo commented which earned her a smile from the little girl.

Jillyanna just nodded her head in agreement. Jade might be young but everything she said was sensible. She wasn't just spouting nonsense but an information from her careful observation. "Alright. Help me dress up and surprise your Daddy. Even if it is a date at home, it is still fine."

"Okay." Jade and Jillyanna went upstairs to find Jillyanna's room. Even though she seldomly visits the villa, she still got so many clothes in her wardrobe. Cielo watched the mother-daughter pair walked upstairs. When they were out of sight, Cielo called Travis to get some update.

"Is it not done yet?"

"Give us half an hour to check everything. We are almost done." Travis responded when he answered her call.

"That's good. I don't think Jade can stop her mother again. I can't obviously stop her to leave the house, that would make her think that we are up to something."

"It's fine. If she decided to leave again, just let her go. I have some plans at home that can stall her time."

"Sure." Cielo responded. "I'll go check your wife and your daughter now." She didn't tell him that Jillyanna was currently dressing up herself for him. She went to the kitchen, took the tray which contained some refreshment and brought it upstairs.
