Chapter 460 - HER BOTTOM LINE

Even though they weren't completely out of danger, Jillyanna was confident that they would be safe. Most of the men who were paid to target her or anyone from her family were taken into custody by the policemen.

Everyone from whole police department, inside and outside the city B, was monitoring their hotline in case someone would contact them regarding Ryden.

"Ex-mayor, I heard your son is on the run. He is already in the list of wanted man." one of the inmates stated in bored tone.

"What can you do, it runs in their blood to do a crime. Like father like son, as the saying goes." another inmate made fun of the jailed ex-city mayor.

They were laughing and hooting at him, happy at his schadenfreude. There were different types of criminals inside the jail but to them, the ex-city mayor was the worst. The crime that each of the inmates did was all done by the mayor. He killed. He raped. He framed innocent people. He robbed people's taxes. He abused women. Name it and that would be on his checklists.

The ex-city mayor didn't say anything. There's nothing he can do as well. He was sentenced a lifetime of imprisonment. How will he send help? How will he keep his son safe?

While someone was 'atoning' for his sins inside the jail, no one knew if he was really sorry though, Jillyanna and her family was enjoying their time in the amusement park.

"Look at that big bear!" Jade looked in wonder to her right. "Wow! Look at that big round ring!" she exclaimed while pointing her fingers at the ferris wheel. "Daddy, look at that big ship!" her big round eyes were sparkling with excitement and joy. Her index finger was pointing here and there. She was so happy being out in such a wonderland.

Jillyanna was watching her happily too. Jade's cheerful laughter and excited remarks were contagious. "That big round ring is a ferris wheel. I rode it once with your Daddy. Do you want to ride on it?"

"Can I?" Jade asked her with expectant gaze.

"Of course. Daddy will go with you. I will watch you from here." Jillyanna told her. It was her intention to bring Jade out and let Travis experience the role of a parent.

"Will you be alright here?" Travis asked her. If he could make a choice, he really wanted the three of them to be up on a ferris wheel. It was just impossible to ask her such huge risk and sacrifice.

"I will be fine here. We will stay down here and watch you two. We will grab something to eat as well."

"Alright. I will take Jade to ride it first." The father and daughter pair left the three women to get tickets for their ride.

Winter watched them go and a smile was hanging on her lips. "I have never imagined that my cold cousin will be this warm. I am glad that you came back to his life."

"There are many things that we won't expect. In fact, I didn't expect you and Gabriel to end up together as well. After all, you had been refusing to remember your past."

Their teacher was also in wonder as she listened to them. She was indeed surprise with the development of her two outstanding students. She never thought that they would fall in love or trust their heart to someone else after being betrayed.

Jillyanna felt betrayed by Travis when she was young and she refused to love him again but, she still found her way towards him. Winter forgot the person she really liked and ended up loving someone insolent and a bastard, got her heart broken during her engagement and started to hate men. In the end, she still remembered him and started to love him again.

"I am starting to doubt myself if I did the right choice." she mumbled to herself. Jillyanna looked at her with an inquiring gaze but she only shook her head to tell her that it was nothing. "Let's buy something to eat while waiting for them." She pushed Jillyanna's wheelchair to find a place where they can get some food and sit.

Travis and Jade were waiting in line among other people. Travis was carrying her in his arms to make sure that his daughter won't be pushed by other people.

"Daddy, it very high up her in your arms. I can see everyone in line. There are many people waiting like us."

"Do you hate crowded places like this?"

"Not really. As long as I am with with Daddy and Mommy, I don't care about the place." Jade answered sweetly which made other parents envious of them.

"My daughter is very sweet." Travis kissed her cheek making Jade giggled.

"Jade is sweet because Mommy and Daddy love me so much."

"Of course. You are our one and only little princes."

"And baby Raizel will be the one and only little prince." Jade added to her father's statement.

"What a sweet child!" exclaimed one of the parents following them in line.

"Look at that pretty little girl. You should be good and sweet like her." another mother reprimanded her own daughter while comparing her daughter to Jade.

"But I don't want to be a girl. I don't want to wear skirts like her or wear cute shoes like her. I don't want to wear a braided hair. I don't like to act cute and sweet." the child argued back. Instead of acting like a little lady, she was acting like a man. She was even wearing a baggy shorts, big white shirt, a rubbed shoes and a reversed baseball cap.

Her mother couldn't do anything but roll her eyes at her daughter.

Other little kids, specially the boys, had been staring at Jade. She was really pretty and even with her shades, she looked adorable.

"I only see her father. Where is her mother?" one of the kids asked while observing that she was only with Travis.

"Her mother probably hates ferris wheel." the mother of the kid answered.

"Is she afraid? Is that the reason why she wasn't with them? Hmp! I have a better mother than her."

Since he wasn't very far from Jade and she can see anyone down from her place, she immediately found the kid who insulted Jillyanna. She raised her shade and looked towards the crowd. She didn't look sweet at all. In fact, she was staring daggers at them.

"Just because my mother isn't around doesn't mean she is a coward. She is pregnant and isn't allowed to ride on this things." she mumbled, loud and clear for everyone to hear. Her tone was condescending and her haughty attitude made everyone's scalp numb. The sweet child they admired earlier was showing her tough and sharp tongue. It was the first time that Travis heard her spoke that way, too. Jade didn't just stop there. She crossed her arm over her chest and even pointed her finger at the little kid. "You were thinking that my mother was a coward because she isn't joining me and my Daddy here. How about your father? Where is he? Hmp! I have a better father than you."

The other parents who heard her couldn't help themselves but stifle their laughters. Her last statement was the exact statement that the kid used earlier and now she was using it against him.

"That's alright, Jade. You don't have to do that." Travis spoke to her. "Your Mommy won't be happy if you get into fight."

"But she insulted my mother! Why can't I insult his father?" she couldn't understand the logic that people can just make an insult but she can't.

Travis patted her head gently with a smile. "My little princess is smart. Insulting people is an attitude of a fool and stupid people. You don't have to stoop to their level. Don't insult anyone."

He was telling his daughter not to insult someone but he was clearly insulting the mother and child. What a nice way of correcting his daughter!

"Okay Daddy. Jade won't do it again." even though she promised it, she looked at the kid and glared at him. "I will let you off today."

The kid and his mother were embarrassed to the point that they had to leave their place in line. The careless remark of her son made them a laughingstock after Jade reprimanded and insulted them back.

They looked towards Travis before shifting to Jade who was currently putting back her shades.

"Daddy, what ride will we take after this?"

"Let's ask your mother after this. She must have something in mind already."

"Does she want me to spend the whole afternoon here?"

"Uh huh. She wants you to enjoy your time."

"Yehey! I will surely enjoy all the ride. When Mommy is allowed to join us on different rides, let's come back here."

"Of course. We will 5 back here. All four of us with the baby."

She was finally back to being cheerful and sweet again. A kid with bottom line. She might be young but she can understand many things. Once you teach her about something, she would always remember it.

That is why, kid should be taught correctly at the very young age. Because their learnings from one to seven years old is their foundation.
