Chapter 441 - I DON'T BARTER MY CHILD FOR MYSELF

"W-what did you say?" Walter Damien's subordinate rose to his feet from rage. He didn't like it when his boss was being looked down upon.

Travis leaned back on his chair and looked at them. Walter Damien was looking at him, too.

"I know I made a mistake but, won't you give me a chance to become a good father?" he was almost pleading to Travis but the man in front of him was cold and indifferent to him.

"I don't care about you wanting to become a good father. You lost that chance when you abandoned your family. At the same, it's not really me or my wife who doesn't want to give your child back, it's your daughter who didn't want to see you at all."

"You told her?"

"We spoke to her three days ago. Such a young child...she went through so much without you showing any care. I might as well tell you, your daughter might be young but she already know how to hold grudges against someone. She can't be lied either because she'll see right through you. She can easily distinguish someone's expression. Even if you take her back, I don't think she'll ever call you 'father'. I am not looking down on you Mr. Damien but, I am just telling you the truth."

"Y-you...you.." Walter Damien was pointing his finger at him angrily but Travis was still nonchalant in front of him. He wasn't threatened at all.

"Don't make it difficult for me either. Don't do anything stupid or you will lose everything in one night." Travis warned him. "Don't lay your fingers in my family or your daughter will hate you forever."

The man put down his hand and took a deep breath as he closed his eyes. It took him few seconds before he opened his eyes and spoke again. "Can I, at least, see her?"

"Sure. You can wait. She will be visiting her mother in a while." Travis stood up and walked back to his work. He didn't care about them at all.

"I heard your wife is going to have a heart transplant after giving birth." Walter Damien spoke again.

"What are you trying to say? Get to the point." Travis responded while keeping his eyes on the screen of his computer.

"I can get you a heart donor in exchange of my daughter."

This time, Jillyanna glanced at him coldly. "I don't barter my child for myself. We already have a heart donor. No need to waste your time. If you want to see your daughter, keep your mouth shut and wait there."

Travis just smiled while watching his fierce wife. "Don't bother about that Mr. Damien."

The man kept quite on his seat but his mind were full of plans to get his child back. 'I won't give up no matter what.' He thought to himself while waiting for his child.

After almost half an hour, Jade came inside with Sky following behind her.

"Mommy, Daddy, look what I have." she showed them a white handkerchief with her embroidered name on it. "Grandma made this for me. I wanted to try making one for baby Raizel but grandma said that it's dangerous."

"Just make it when you are a bit bigger." Jillyanna spoke softly to her daughter. "What else did you do this morning?"

"Oh! We also tried baking cookies." she opened her bag and took out a box with chocolate chip cookies. "Tada!" she opened the box and showed what was inside. "I made it with grandma and grandpa."

"Wow! That looks delicious. Can I have one?"

"Sure. You can get as many as you want."

"What if I want all of this?" Jillyanna joked at her daughter.

"No, you can't. Mommy, you have to share it with Daddy and Uncle Hawk." Jade was shaking her head from side to side.

Jillyanna chuckled as she gently pat the child's head. "I was just kidding. I'll just get one because my doctor told me not to eat too much sweets. Go and give some to your daddy and Uncle Hawk."

Jade obediently followed and walked towards Travis. "Here daddy."

Travis picked one and took a bite. "It's yummy. Our little princess can already bake this kind of cookies. You will inherit your grandma's cooking book."

"Grandma gave it to me already." Jade proudly stated with a beaming smile.

"She did?! Wow! That's great of you. Did you thank grandma?"

"Yes. You told me to thank someone if they gave me something or if they help me."

Travis rubbed the child's head happily. "Very good. Go and give some to your uncle."

Jade walked slowly while holding the box of cookies. When she passed by the couch, she saw the two me who had been waiting for her. She just looked at them and went outside where Hawk was sitting on a bench.

"Uncle Hawk, I brought some cookies. Give it a try."

Hawk picked up one and slowly took a bite on it. "This is delicious. Who made this?"

"Me."

"Really?!" Hawk acted surprise even though he heard from the inside that she baked it. "Our little Jade is impressive! You can bake cookies already!"

"That's because of grandma and grandpa. They helped me make it."

While Jade and Hawk chatted, Travis looked towards the man who was clutching the silver cane. "Your daughter doesn't even recognize you."

Sky who heard the statement turned to look at them. "This is Jade's father?"

"Yes Ma." Travis and Jillyanna answered in unison.

"Oh." Sky didn't say anything more but her eyes was looking at the man disdainfully.

Walter Damien was a little embarrassed but he couldn't do anything. He wanted to see his daughter very much.

When Jade came back inside, she looked towards the two men again. "Do you want some cookies?" she asked with hesitation but her parents didn't stop her, so it must be okay.

Walter Damien stared at his daughter with tears welling up in his eyes but because he didn't want to surprise her, he swallowed back his urge to call her and just took a piece.

"Uncle, are you alright?" Jade asked him softly while peering up in his eyes.

"I'm fine. Thank you for the cookies."
