Chapter 288 - LOOKING THROUGH ALBUMS

Jillyanna blinked her eyes and looked at him before she looked at Valkyrie and Brown who were also staring back at her.

"What's the matter? Why are you looking at us?" Brown asked in worry because he couldn't read what Jillyanna was feeling that time.

Jillyanna finally smiled but she still turned back to Travis and kissed both his cheeks. "Were you shocked that they're together now?"

"Nope. I expected it already but I didn't expect that it would be in such a short time." Travis admitted which made everyone happy once again.

Valkyrie and Brown were elated to hear the news but they kept their happiness because they noticed that Thomas was looking sad.

Not only them, Jillyanna noticed it too. "Alright, don't tire my husband so much. It's early in the morning and we're all getting emotional." Jillyanna spoked with a smile. "Dad, once Travis gets discharged we'll come visit the hacienda, too. He spent most of his time there so he would be able recover plenty of memories. Let's all look forward to that."

"Sure. Come and visit me sometime." He looked at his wrist watch and sighed. "I'd have to go now. We still have plenty of things to do today."

"Okay. See you tomorrow." Jillyanna led them out and watched them go. The only remaining people was her and Travis, together with Valkyrie and Brown.

"Did you guys eat already? Why don't you eat with us?" Jillyanna offered while she took a spoon and fork for Travis.

"We ate before we left. You guys take your time. Don't mind us." Brown refused politely and walked towards the couch with Valkyrie.

Travis was quiet while he slowly ate his food. "I think I disappointed my father. I remembered my friends first instead of him."

Jillyanna put down her spoon and looked at him. "Actually, what I remembered is that you didn't really spend so much time with your father. When you were young, he sent you to different classes to be an excellent man. You only spent time with him during weekend and that's even in my house. As you grew up, you were becoming distant to him. Still he took care of you when your mother left. Sadly, his health was getting worse which was the reason you asked Evan to take care of him when he's home. When I was really angry and upset because of you, he will always defend you in front of me. At the same time, we can't force you to remember your father. We're depending on the circumstances and the places for you to recover your memories."

Travis nodded his head in understanding. If he had a choice, he would want to remember his father, too but he'd have to suffer from headache and dizziness. He didn't want to worry his wife so he was depending on whatever memory that popped in his mind.

They ate their breakfast in silence and sometimes they would talk if something popped in his mind.

After they ate, Travis took a half bath and changed his hospital gown. He can't wet his head yet because the wound hadn't healed yet and the doctor reminded him not to get it wet.

"Do you want to take a look at the album?" Jillyanna asked him when he came out of the bathroom.

"Sure. I'd be happy to know more things about me." Travis responded to her and sat on his bed with the album. Jillyanna took a chair and sat beside his bed.

Brown and Valkyrie would often steal glances at the couple in front of them and they would smile secretly to each other.

"I didn't expect he'd remember us today." Brown whispered as he leaned his back on the couch.

"Neither did I."

"Do you think Uncle is upset?"

"Probably. Who wouldn't be upset if your son remember someone else instead of you, his father? At the same time, I think uncle would understand him. The situation is out of our control after all." Valkyrie stated his opinion while he took hold of Brown's hand and intertwined their fingers.

"And what do you think you're doing?"

"I'm holding you. Dad told me to never let you go or I will regret it for the rest of my life." Valkyrie shamelessly admitted which didn't escape Jillyanna's hearing.

"You and Valkyrie are so alike." she whispered to Travis with faint smile. "You act shameless whenever you want."

Travis chuckled at her statement as he shifted his gaze towards the pair. One was grinning mischievously while the other was glaring sharply.

"Indeed. But I am only acting this way towards you. Just like how Matthew acted the same way towards Evan."

"Tsk! You're even admitting it now." Jillyanna rolled her eyes at him. She opened the album to different pages but all she could see were pictures of them when they were young. "I don't think there's a need to see these pictures." She closed the album and placed it on the side.

"Why don't you want to see it?"

"I just don't want to." Even if she forgave him already, even if she's married to him, and even if she loves him more than anyone else, she still didn't want to remember her childhood. As much as possible, she wanted to forget them. She didn't have any good memories with it.

"Your father left you and died without letting you know. Your mother died unexpectedly when you were 12 years old. And I hurt you when you were five. I left you and you collapsed. I said so many hurtful words. Is that why you didn't want to see them?"

"Hn."

"I see. Then, I won't see them. Let's take a look with the other albums." Travis suggested and Jillyanna took a new photo album. This time there were pictures of him, together with Gabriel and Winter. "I remember this. But I couldn't remember the current Gabriel."

"It's fine we will get to it soon." Jillyanna smiled and flipped a new page. They looked at each page of all the albums but Travis didn't remember anything. "We'll check on them tomorrow. I heard that your cousin is coming back in a week. It would be better if you could talk to her in person."

"Wifey, don't I have a prize for taking a bath on my own?" Hearing this question, both Brown and Valkyrie wanted to laugh so hard. They couldn't believe that a childish Travis existed.

Jillyanna didn't mind though. She wanted to spoil him in whatever way possible. She leaned closer at him and held both his face before she placed a light kiss on his lips. "That's your prize."
