Chapter 254 - HER PENT-UP JEALOUSY

It wasn't just Jillyanna who was worried for her health. The person who knew her secret, Lucian, was also worried. He even started searching online as to what should be done and what should not be done for a person with CHD or those with artificial heart organ.

However, when it came to artificial heart, there was no relative information since there wasn't anyone who got an artificial heart transplant. Which goes to say, Jillyanna was the first person to get an artificial heart transplanted inside her body.

"You've been looking through different sites and books about artificial heart and CHD, what happened?" Cielo asked him in worry when she saw the opened websites on his laptop.

It had been several days since he had been acting strangely in front of them. When they talked about matters of the heart, he would keep silent and stare into space. She was starting to worry that he might have a problem with his heart.

"I'm sorry for worrying you. I am just curious about this." Lucian lied to her again. He had lied to her multiple times in order for Jillyanna's secret to remain safe. They knew that Cielo was the most worrywart person among them and if she knew, she would be flipping the whole house from rage.

Cielo just looked at him for a moment before standing up and looked outside the window which led to the back garden. They were currently staying in their apartment to accompany Jenny who was still studying. They would go back to the mansion during weekends to accompany their parents.

"Will you always lie to me to help Jillyanna keep her secret?" Cielo asked in monotonous voice. Flat and emotionless.

Lucian was dumbfounded with her question. He didn't know if she knew or if she was trying to sound him out in order for him to reveal the truth. Nonetheless, he kept his mouth shut.

"We knew that Jillyanna has a heart disease. That is why we got Eliezer as the family doctor since he knew Jillyanna ever since they were kids. We knew she had a surgery years ago."

"I'm sorry for lying to you but you know I'm not a person who breaks a promise. I promised to her that I won't tell anyone until she gets the courage to speak to us after a month." Lucian spoke to his wife in apologetic tone.

"And you promised that you would never lie to me!" Cielo exclaimed which stunned the both of them. It was the first time after two years that she raised her voice again. "You told me you won't lie to me. Why did you break your promise?" Her tears fell and she wiped it abruptly with her hands. "It's not okay to break your promise to her but it is fine if you break your promise to me. Is that it?"

She was never this jealous over Jillyanna's presence. It was fine for her that her parents love Jillyanna given the fact that Elizabeth saved her father and that Jillyanna was orphaned. It was fine to her that Jillyanna got more recognition given that she was really smarter than her. It was fine to her that Jillyanna was skillful than her, prettier than her and more filial than her. It was fine! But it wasn't fine to her that Lucian gave Jillyanna more importance than her. She hated it! She hated herself for feeling it. She never wanted to be jealous of her own sister.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean this to happen. It's just, she's got so much burden already and I don't want us to be an additional burden for her. If she knew we are worrying for her, she will act as if she's fine. I didn't mean to lie to you. I'm really sorry."

Lucian approached his crying wife but Cielo just glared at him. "Don't come near me." Lucian disregarded her warning and still walked to her. "I said don't come near me!" she shouted angrily. "I hate you! I hate all of you! I hate you so much! You lied to me again and again!"

Her tears didn't stop falling and she didn't stop throwing punches on his chest either. Lucian let her vent her anger, enduring the pain as she landed her fist on his chest. "Why must you lie to me? Am I really that untrustworthy? Am I really unreliable? Why?"

Lucian hugged her when she stopped throwing punches on him. He hugged her tightly, feeling her pain and anger. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. Cielo, I'm sorry."

In symphony with her hiccups and sobs, she asked him the most ridiculous question he's ever heard. "Do you want to get a divorce?"

"What?" his eyes were wide open as he stared at her in agape. "What are you talking about?"

"Maybe you are tired of me and that is why you find it okay to lie to me." she wiped her tears with the back of her hands. "First lie, second lie, third, fourth...you've lied to me and I've lost count already. Perhaps you are tired of me since we've been together for how many years. Perhaps I am not really that important to you. Lucian, I don't want to be lied. If you can't even do that, why waste your time with me."

"I...I...oh my god!" he couldn't stop himself from pulling his own hair. "I didn't really want to do it. Do you know how guilty I am everytime I look at you? I wanted to tell you the truth. I never wanted to lie to you."

Cielo didn't look at him at all. It was difficult for her to believe him again. Her brain were full of what ifs and she didn't know which way to go. She didn't want to face anyone anymore.

"Cielo, I am really sorry. I won't do it ever again. Even if the truth is painful, I will let you know immediately. Let's not talk about divorce, okay? I don't want to spend my life with anyone else but you."

Seeing her standing still with no sign of forgiving him, he went out of the room and walked towards the kitchen. In the next seconds, he was back with a knife in his hands.

"I can dig my heart out for you. Do you want it?"
