Chapter 236 - HER WEAK COUNTENANCE

Jillyanna, together with Savannah went back to the hospital. Like always, Travis was still lying on his hospital bed, pale face with tubes connected to his body.

"Hi Honey! I'm back! Looks like you still want to continue sleeping. Aren't you scared I am going to run away with our baby?" she started talking to him while putting her bag away and went to the comfort room to wash her hands. She came out of the room and saw Sky preparing to leave. "Thank you for taking care of him, mom."

"No worries. I am glad I can help you lessen your worry." Sky said, smiling faintly at her before taking a deep sigh. "The doctors still couldn't get any response from him. They also asked if you are willing to take him home and let him recuperate at home."

Jillyanna thought about it for a while before refusing such opinion. Brown was currently having a mission. He couldn't attend to Travis. Eliezer was also out of the country for a seminar. Her house was under construction and wasn't suitable place for patient. His mansion was far from the city and if urgent things happen, she was afraid it would be to long to wait for an emergency response. She won't compromise his well-being at all.

"I won't bring him home. I'll stay here and let the doctors continue to observe." Jillyanna responded firmly. Everyone wanted her to give up already but Jillyanna believed he would wake up. Miracles happen and she will wait for that miracle, too.

She watched her foster mother go and sat on the chair beside Travis' bed. Savannah and Hawk was also standing at the foot of his bed.

"Will Jackie be coming home tonight? Should we wait for her before going home?" Savannah asked since there wasn't any update of them since this morning.

"Don't worry about them. You can go ahead first." Jillyanna didn't even turn her head to face them when she spoke. Her eyes were focused on Travis to make sure that she won't miss a single movement from him.

"Take care of yourself. Top will be guarding outside now. Let him know if you need anything." Hawk spoke to her before walking out of the room with Savannah.

Now that she was all alone with him again, Jillyanna couldn't help but cry silently. 'Until when are you planning to sleep here?' she asked him silently, wiping off the tears on her face with the back of her hand. 'Everyday, I'm living in fear that you will be gone while I'm working outside.'

"Travis, can you please wake up soon? I'm begging you to wake up soon." her silent weeping, tremblings shoulders and mournful whispers stopped the twins and Shein at the door.

The three of them decided to go back together since they have something they wanted to discuss with Jillyanna. Seeing her weak countenance, their hearts ached for her.

In their memory, Jillyanna was always strong, smart and brave. Even when she almost died two years ago, she didn't utter a single cry for help. She remained emotionless and cold. Shein had to locate her using the last signal he caught from her phone and looked for her whereabouts through different street CCTVs. It took him an hour to find her hanging on top of a building, clothes fluttering in the wind and bruises were clear in his naked eyes.

That time, he sent her location to Lucian's phone. He knew the man because Jillyanna would often talk about her foster family to them.

However, the Jillyanna they were looking at were different from what they imagined her to be from her past self. Right now, she was just a normal wife who's in so much grief and sorrow for her husband.

Shein walked towards her and gently patted her back. "I know you are sad for him but you have to stop crying. Do you want the baby to look ugly like you?"

Jillyanna abruptly turned her head and pinched his waist lightly. "I don't need you to say the second sentence." she rolled her eyes at him before wiping her tears with the tissue he handed.

"But I need to say it for you. Babies are delicate creatures and your baby is no different. What mothers feel will affect the baby's development. If you keep on crying, sulking and stressing yourself over this matter which you can't really do anything about, your baby will become ugly."

Jillyanna couldn't help herself from bursting into a fit of laughter. Ever since she found them, Shein was always the type who says something sensible but always come out like a joke. Even Riley and Jackie were chuckling on the side.

"Thank you Shein." she told the young man before looking towards the girls. "I am glad you are all safe. The three of you go home for now since we will busy tomorrow."

"Uh.."Riley wanted to say something but she didn't know how to start it. Jillyanna just looked at her and waited for her to say her words. "Uhh..we just thought that, we want to have our own house." Jillyanna raised her eyebrows in question. "I mean, we want to stay in your house but the construction for your house extension isn't done yet. There's not enough room for us."

Jillyanna understood their point which was why she arranged everything beforehand. "Hn. I already rented a house where you guys can stay. You can move there tomorrow but for now, you girls will stay with Savannah and Shein will stay with Hawk. They already know this arrangement."

"Thank you so much." Jackie spoke with a soft voice.

"It's fine. Once the house is completely done, you can move back in. I specifically asked Travis to have 2 extra rooms for you, though I didn't tell him the reason before." She regretted not telling him. She actually wanted to surprise him of the kids she brought up but she didn't have the chance and now his life was slipping away right before her.
