Chapter 232 - COMING OUT I

"Good morning doc." another scientist greeted Brown when he came in to put away his bag, only bringing his phone with him inside his lab coat.

"Morning." Brown spoke softly since he wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone.

"Hey doc, do you want to cover that?" the woman was pointing at her own neck while eyeing the same spot on Brown. "I have a concealer."

"It is fine." Brown answered before leaving the locker's area to head inside his laboratory to conduct test on subjects that weren't taken back by any family members.

He was just about to press his I.D badge on the sensor to gain access when his phone vibrated inside his lab coat. He picked it up and found several messages from unknown contact.

-Please help me get a justice for my sister. I don't want her daughter to experience the same pain as her.-

-I can give you access to the basement laboratory for one day. Find a chance to sneak inside.-

-You are my only hope.-

Brown tried calling the number but it was already out of reach. 'Just who the hell is this person?' Brown wanted to ask this question to anyone but he knew he can't do that.

At the same time, Jillyanna received an email. The same, exact, e-mail address who sent her clues about her mother's death, leading her to almost die two years ago.

-I hope you are fine. I am glad to see you are doing fine. Don't look into your mother's case anymore. I don't want to see you suffer while I stay hidden in the shadows. I found someone to look into it already.-

Jillyanna's eyes dimmed and she sighed deeply to release all the negativity inside her. She somehow knew who it was but she could only assume. She wasn't sure. The last time she saw the person personally was when she denied her identity.

Jillyanna didn't delete the e-mail so that she could show it to Shein when she got back. The problem was, would he go back to Jillyanna now that he found Riley? It would be a 50/50 chance.

She sent a text message to Brown to remind him to take care of himself as well as a message to Valkyrie to make sure that they were both doing fine.

Brown already gave up contacting the source of information and got inside the laboratory. Inside was a man, whom he saw at the hospital last time. He was arranging some flask with different colors of liquid in it.

He started to do his work without disturbing the man. He took note of his findings and showed it to him without saying anything. For some reason, they could still understand what the other was thinking when it comes to experiment.

Whenever Brown got a vacant time, he would chat with the other scientist to get information about their experiments but no one said a word regarding the experiment in the basement.

The day ended without any valuable information aside from the text he received earlier. When he got the message from Jillyanna, he started to feel guilty towards her. She had to think about Travis, about her baby, about the company, about her family and the people who's after her mother's research. She had so many things to think about but she still worry about him.

With his head bowed down, clutching on the strap of his bag, Brown went out of the building with other scientists who's going home as well.

"You are finally out." Valkyrie spoke which brought him back to reality. "What are you thinking?" He linked their hands together like it was the most natural thing to do.

People stared at them. Some were shocked, some were amazed with their bravery, some teased them and some were just expressionless. Brown tried getting his hand back but Valkyrie held him firmly.

"Isn't it time that we should get used to this?" Valkyrie whispered, his hot breath warm on his cheeks. "Do you really want to throw what we have?"

Brown felt puzzled and confused. His walls started to crumble but he didn't say anything. He just allowed Valkyrie to hold his hand and led him back to the apartment they were staying.

"Hey doc! Why didn't you tell us that your boyfriend is this hot? Are you afraid someone will steal him?" It was the same woman who offered her concealer this morning.

"I don't think doc's boyfriend will show interest in someone else. He even left his mark." another woman teased in order to ease Brown's discomfort.

Valkyrie smiled and nodded his head. "You are right. I won't be seduced with anyone because I can't get it up if it isn't him."

These made the women blush from his bluntness but they still giggled and smiled towards Brown. "Doc, your boyfriend is very possessive."

Brown continued to smile throughout their conversation even though he wanted to kick Valkyrie beside him. When they reached the main road, his colleagues were going towards the opposite direction so they bid farewell cheerfully.

"Your colleagues are very supportive. Are they involved with the expirement you are investigating?" Valkyrie whispered since they were still outside and anyone might hear them.

"Why are you asking that?"

"Because I thought you might not want them to be sent to jail or to die in Jillyanna's hands. Those were the only choices and you know that."

"They aren't involved. By the way, why did you show up in my workplace? Did you forget that you did something this morning?"

"I don't dare forget which is why I am picking you up to make up for it?"

"Are you saying that you are just picking me up to make up for what you did?"

"No. That's not it. I really wanted to pick you up everyday but I don't want to upset you."

"And you think today I'm - " to his horror, a man with almost the same face as Valkyrie was standing in front of their apartment room. "Dr. Anderson."
