Chapter 212 - CALM BEFORE THE STORM

During lunch, they left their things in the living room. Travis had placed his phone and wallet on Jillyanna's bag because he didn't want her to be exposed in too much radiation from gadgets.

They didn't know that his secretary had been calling him multiple times. It was an important matter but she didn't know where her boss was.

She was still working at the Finance Department as her boss instructed her to do so in order to observe Mr. Guevarra. Today was just like any other day. There was no abnormalities in the target's action. That was until lunch break.

"I heard the boss is getting his marriage registration today. Mr. Sandoval wanted to come but he's got work to do so he sent his son over." one of the secretaries who came to eat in their private cafeteria chatted.

"Really? OMG! I am so happy for them. They looked so good together and I do think it is time to register their marriage specially that our young madam has a baby." replied the other employee.

It wasn't just them who was talking about it. Other employees who heard of the news were happy and expressed their well wishes, except for a certain someone.

He was eating alone and didn't like talking to anyone. Travis' secretary observed him for a long time while eating her food. When he was done eating, he placed his empty dishes on a tray and placed it on the counter for washing.

She followed him immediately even though she didn't finish her food yet. She saw him walk to a corner and pulled out his phone. She hid behind a wall to listen to him.

"I heard he is getting married. Wait at the Office of Marriage Affairs and do your work. I don't care if you cripple him. The most important thing is for the woman to die. He should know the pain of losing someone."

The secretary heard every single word he said and she started having a goosebump. She left the place immediately and started calling Travis. She called him again and again but no one picked up.

Unknown to her, the man had caught up with her. Since it was lunch break no one was around because they were taking their lunch. He strike the back of her head with his strong arms, making her lose her consciousness.

He dragged him into the storage room where no one usually go unless it was time to clean the glass windows of the building which would happen next month. By that time, they'd only find a corpse inside. He even taped her mouth, tied her hands at her back and tied her legs together to make sure that she couldn't make any noise.

He looked around the place and found no one was around. He didn't find any CCTV cameras as well so he was confident with his work. A sinister smile crept on his lips before he went back to work like nothing happened.

"Where is Ms. Eva? She isn't back yet?" one of the employees asked when she came back from lunch.

"She isn't back yet. Maybe boss asked needed her to process something." another employee answered.

"But her bag is still here."

"It's fine. She always bring her phone with her so boss can contact her." They ignored their worries and continued to work. Soon, Mr. Guevarra came back and continued working too with glee.

At three in the afternoon, Travis and Jillyanna went to the Office of Marriage Affairs to register their marriage without checking their phones at all. Whenever they were together, there was no need for gadgets.

Registering for marriage wasn't a long process. You just have to sign documents and a lawyer will sign and testify to your marriage before officially putting a seal on your certificate.

"There is a wedding photo boutique beside the office building. Shall we get a set of pictures before we have our official wedding?" Jillyanna suggested since she wanted to have a remembrance for this day.

"Sounds like a plan. Let's go?" Travis reached out for her hand. Jillyanna took it and laced their fingers as they walk out of the building.

"It was Mr. Madrigal right? I wasn't seeing anything?" an office woman whispered to her colleague.

"Yes, that is him. The woman is Miss Jillyanna Madrid. They just got their marriage certificate."

"I envy them so much. I hope their baby is girl and as adorable and pretty as her."

"They look so good together. It does not matter as long the baby is healthy."

People whispered and wished them luck and blessings as they watched them leave the building.

Jillyanna opened the sliding door and went inside the average wedding photo boutique. "Good afternoon, do you also lend some wedding attires here?" Jillyanna asked to an attendant.

"Yes ma'am. We have different suits and wedding gowns. Let me show you the way." a young lady informed them and led them all the way to the back off the place. There were rows of wedding gowns with their prices as well as different suits.

Jillyanna chose a gown with a sheer style of sleeves and a multi-layer dress. It was fitting to her waist and the gems embedded on the dress were sparkling like real diamonds when the light hits it. She looked for a suit that would look good together with it and gave it to Travis.

A make up artist and hairstylist was waiting for them on a different room to help them. When she saw Jillyanna she didn't touch her face at all. There was no need to do her make up when she's already beautiful. She chose to work on her hair and sweep it up high on top of Jillyanna's head with a stunning twists and curls. She left some loose strands to fall out from her head to frame her face in absolute perfection.

"I like it. Thank you." Jillyanna expressed her gratitude before going out to meet Travis.

"The most gorgeous bride I have ever seen." Travis commented while looking at her from head to toe.

"Stop staring at me and let's take a photo." she smiled at him cheerfully before linking her arm with his. They walked to another room with different backdrop and chose the garden theme.

When they finished taking their shots, they chose the sizes and paid the down payment. However, Jillyanna's hands tremble and she felt nervous again.

"Let's have someone pick us up?" she asked Travis who was paying for their photos. "I feel very nervous today."

"Trust your instincts ma'am." the cashier told her when she heard what Jillyanna said.
