Chapter 180 - Ms. Yen Conceded

Boss Wang felt a massive headache was about to land on his temple.

He had strongly sensed that Sofia would not yield to this brand deal for she already expressed her opinion to him before.

But, because of the budget of this swimwear company, he neglected her opinion and thought that she could bargain the teen with the good amount of money that they would gain afterward.

"EHEHE, Miss Sofia, the shooting is just one day, it won't take too much of your time in school. How about you skip class? I can ask your teachers to excuse your other members too. This swimwear company is willing to give us a good figure. It's a waste if only one member would come. They might cut the budget for this summer campaign," Boss Wang still tried to test his luck and coaxed Sofia.

"Boss Wang, in this lifetime, money will never be an issue for the Chronos squad. Not today, not in the future. We will earn and make more profit but it should be because we love what we are doing. There is nothing wrong with endorsing swimwear, however, we are uncomfortable doing it. So, even if you will excuse my members to their class to attend the photo shoot, I won't approve it. Joey on the other hand is willing to go," Sofia responded. 

"T-then, what shall I do? I have already confirmed the appearance of the Chronos squad. And they are requesting the five of you," Boss Wang felt at loss and could not help but told Sofia about what he had done.

"If you have sister Jing Jing on your side, she would be able to handle these matters smoothly. It's a pity, you fired her. This time, the best you can do is to tell the swimwear company that the teens were so diligent in their studies and that only one of the members can endorse their products," Sofia responded.

"I have regretted my reckless action and firing Jing Jing. It was she was starting to talk nonsense about other business around the office," Boss Wang said to justify his actions.

"Boss Wang, you will regret not only firing Ms. Jing Jing but also by not listening to the...according to you, 'nonsense' words that she said. It's the investment, right? Then, next month you must have anticipated doubling your millions. Let's see if the result would be double or just a mere bubble," Sofia stated.

"Bah! Last month, my investment was doubled! I got the payment and earned big. So, why would it not be the same this month? Anyway, I still have other matters to do, so, I will call you again for the endorsement," Boss Wang said and quickly disconnected the call. 

By now, Ms, Yen had also managed to calm down. She slowly went towards the chair and sat with her eyes closed. 

"I don't think I can deal with her," she said before opening her eyes.

"Miss Sofia? That... I also feel that she is hard to deal with! So, just maintain a civil attitude with her," Boss Wang sighed. He initially thought that he could exploit the teens and make them his money tree. But now, he realized that his assumptions were wrong. 

It was like the Chronos squad was anchored in a big mountain, unable to moved or swayed by any means. And that mountain was of the squad leader.

"Cousin, if only you have heard how she insulted me earlier but made it seem like innocent remarks. She is indeed what she claimed to be. Venomous!" Ms. Yen scowled, thinking of how their earlier conversation transpired made her felt helpless.

"This time, we must deal with the swimwear company first. Tell them that the Chronos squad is too diligent in their school works that only one member is available for the endorsement. If they decided to cut off the budget, it is fine," Boss Wang stated and he remembered Sofia's exact word at the back of his head.

'In this lifetime, money will never be an issue to my Chronos squad.'

It sounded more than just a statement that the lady would randomly speak of. When he heard Sofia said those words, it felt like the young lady was making a vow. 

"Okay, I will tell that to the company. Cousin, sorry if I did not meet up the result that you had been expected," Ms. Yen stated. Even if she could be imposing sometimes, she was not a fool. A single warning from Sofia was enough to back off and just do her job. She could only apologize for the unmet expectations that she caused towards her cousin.

Boss Wang thoughtfully nodded his head but did not speak anymore. She sat back on his chair and started checking his emails. 

On the opposite side, Ms. Yen went to dial the contact number of the swimwear company. Few rings sounded and her mind drifted to what Sofia had told her.

'There is a proper manner of handling a phone call.'

She sighed. "I'm aware of it! Dammit!" 

Now she realized that even from the start of her conversation with Sofia, she already intended to insult her by reminding such basic details.

"Sha-Sha swimwear, how may I help you?" Ms. Yen adjusted her sitting position and took a deep breath.

"Hi, this is Yen. May I have a word with your advertising manager please?" she politely asked and conducted herself properly.

"No problem! I will connect your call to the advertising department. Please hold on," the voice from the other line responded to hear and she was placed on hold.

"Sha-sha advertising department, who's this?" another person picked the call.

"It's me, Yen. I am the representative of the Chronos squad. About the summer campaign, we have a bit of a problem about the shooting," Ms. Yen spoke lightly.

"What problem, Yen?" the person on the other line responded.

"Well, the teenagers that will model your product are very diligent in their school work. They value their grades. So, only one member can join the photo shoot," Ms. Yen said.

"If not five of them uhhmm---? Then, I must tell our boss first.. I'll call back once I finished communicating with my boss," the person said and their call was dropped before she could bid her goodbye.
