Chapter 179 - [Bonus ] Sofia's Skills Of Provoking

The next day, Ms. Yen, the representative of the exclusive press that would handle the Chronos Squad's brand deal felt light-headed as she saw the budget that was forwarded for the summer campaign of a swimwear company.

The company was adamant to have the five members of the Chronos squad pose as the cover of their summer collection and endorse their brand.

"This swimwear company would really put their money to some teens? Why can't they just hire professional models?" Ms. Yen grumbled.

She was sitting in the office of Boss Wang and was examining all the brand deals and sponsorship for the Chronos squad.

"Because at this point, these five teens remained the hot topic across majority of their target audience. The young, young adult and middle-aged people in this district kept on mentioning the Chronos squad. Naturally, the company would show generosity to hook the teens to promote their products," Boss Wang replied as he lazily glanced at the swimwear magazine on his table.

"Cousin, we have confirmed with this summer wear shooting. I will call that young lady for them to prepare," she casually said and dialed Sofia's number on the phone.

"There's a good opportunity for brand endorsement that is available. I put the squad to collaborate with it. Shooting will be this afternoon," Ms. Yen directly said on her line right after Sofia answered the phone.

She did not even bother greeting her. Instead, she showed an imposing attitude to let the young lady know that the opportunity that she chose could not be denied.

Upon hearing this tone, Ms. Yen heard the young lady cleared her throat and went silent.

"Are you there? Did you hear what I said?" Ms. Yen continued as Sofia was not speaking a word from her end.

"Ms. Yen, is this you?" Sofia finally asked.

"Yes, it's me! Can't you recognize my voice?" Yen stated in an irritating tone. 'How dare this young girl not recognize me?!' she mentally scolded Sofia.

"Ms. Yen, there is a proper manner of handling a phone call. You should perhaps learn it, lest would tell bad things to your company. For example, just now, forgive my bluntness but you sounded too unprofessional," Sofia's calm voice spread to her ears. But, the words were a bit harsh. And because it was spoken by a youngster, Ms. Yen, became furious.

"How dare you lecture me about professionalism?! You are too young to know how professionals act. You have no write to tell me how to act, young girl!" her voice erupted like a rumble of thunder roaring in the sky.

Sofia winced and adjusted the volume of her device to a lower level. "There is no need for you to shout, Ms. Yen. This mobile phone is right in my ear and you are speaking near your mouth," Sofia replied.

"Hmmph! You don't know how to read the situation, do you? Well, that is expected for you to be still green. Don't worry, I will discipline you so that you will grow into a mature person," Ms. Yen stated.

"Hehe, in your opinion, a mature person screams over the phone for no reason? I don't like shouting unless I am in-game, so I'd rather pass the lesson. However, if Ms. Yen is interested, you could definitely make me your role model. Please meditate. Stay calm and don't disrespect people. You are being very disrespectful right now," Sofia refuted. There was no way she would just let the rude behavior of this lady. 

"D-disrespectful? I should be the one who calls you that! You have no respect for seniors!" Ms. Yen stated.

Boss Wang who was just sitting opposite her raised a hand signal for her to stop. But the battle had already sailed out of the dock and for this hot-tempered lady, there was no turning back.

She moved her feet away from Boss Wang and the man worriedly looked at her retreating to the corner.

"Yen, don't argue with the teen. This may damage our reputation," boss Wang demanded. But his cousin turned deaf from his words and refused to end the call.

On the other line, Sofia only released a soft chuckle, provoking Ms. Yen's, and intensifying her anger even more. 

To say, no one knew better than a gamer on how to make a good taunt to their enemy. And much more to Sofia for she was but a tank user. Taunting had already been part of her skills.

If it was still in the past, she would for sure continue to lecture this lady. But, at present, even if it's a bad thing to say, she still felt enjoyment... perhaps, the youth age had really influenced her mindset too. She wouldn't hesitate to use her taunting skills just to see how far could a person go before they erupt.

"What are you laughing? You disrespectful brat! You should thank me for arranging your group a brand deal!" Ms. Yen stated,

On the other line, Sofia responded in a very cheerful tone. "Thank you for your hard work, Ms. Yen. Do tell this 'brat girl' about what you have done to secure the brand deal for my Chronos squad? I should know your efforts before expressing my gratitude, yes?"

This question completely made Ms. Yen caught off guard that her face turned dark. What had she done to secure the brand deal?

In fact, she did not do anything for the swimwear company was the one that had reached them. And precisely, these companies contacted to Sofia first and offered her directly to endorse them. But she told them that it is against protocol for they had a private press. Thus, the companies had to to contact their private press and negotiate to them first. Only then, the company will inform them of the negotiation and arranged a meeting.

Jing Jing would not even need to remind Sofia about some possibility of endorsing shady company for most of the company had emailed to her first for possible collaboration.

It was thanks to her that these companies contacted the press company to inquire about the Chronos squad!

If she was not busy with the matters of their business plan, Sofia could have handled the brand deals and endorsement herself. It was even fortuitous for the press company that Sofia was bringing business to them.

In the corner, Ms. Yen was rendered speechless. She stared blankly at the wall, unable to think of any response.

"Your silence is a good indication that you have done nothing for us, Ms. Yen. Then how shall I express my gratitude to a senior for doing nothing? Since you are eager to teach me a lesson, please enlighten this youngster," Sofia followed up. This time, her tone hinted that she was smirking on the other line.

"You! How can you insult me like that?!" Ms. Yen managed to speak. But, her voice cracked as her eyes suddenly began to mist. For some reason, she was on the verged of crying.

"That's not true for I did not insult you. It is you who called me a brat. I did not speak any derogatory words nor trash talk you, Ms. Yen, didn't I?" Sofia stated.

It was true. Sofia had not said the direct words to degrade her but right now, Ms. Yen felt very insulted. For the young lady had subtly crafted her sentences, so expertly and laced them with sarcasm so she could tell her that she was useless and not worthy for any gratitude.

"Ms. Yen, let me tell you something that is rather fascinating. After I joined the gaming world and had a good experience on it, I can tell you that those who had a guts to bark nonsense to a gamer must prepare to get bitten. And when they bite, its not only painful but it would also be venomous. It's not good to pick a verbal fight against me, for I am one of those gamers," Sofia added after the long silence in their line.

A sudden cold sensation touched the spine of Ms. Yen and she had completely lost her momentum. Sofia's warning was too much for her to handle that she staggered felt her entire legs went limp. She swayed as steps a couple of times before she completely sat on the floor.

Boss Wang who noticed her cousin collapsing quickly went to her side. "What happened? Why are you suddenly sitting on the floor?" Boss Wang asked but soon he was silent for there were tears on his cousin's eyes.

He took the phone and noticed that it was still connected. "Hello?" he awkwardly said.

"Boss Wang, I was just talking with Ms. Yen, and she became silent?" Sofia's soft voice responded. There was even a hint of excitement in her tone that left the man completely perplexed.

Why is the other line so excited while his cousin looked so dejected?

"Miss Sofia, hello, hehe," Boss Wang said and made a series of pauses for he did not also know how to start the conversation with her.

"Boss Wang, the matter about the summer campaign from the swimwear company, only one of my members had the time to attend it. We are still students and you know how hard school works are. Right now, we are catching up with our lessons as well as the preparations for the upcoming regional tournament. The rest of us will be so busy," Sofia took the initiative to start the conversation.

Despite Ms. Yen not mentioning the entire information during their conversation, Sofia had already calculated that the main subject of their conversation should be the summer campaign.

It was to easy for her to guess. And after being called out for her pimples last time, she did not plan to display her entire figure for the public.. But because Joey expressed his interest in modeling, she would not also stop her members of what they aspire to do.
