Chapter 146 - Custom Battle Room (4)

Name:Ceo Unrivaled Author:inflict
"No clash? Ohh... woahh! 13 minutes!?" Stephen inquired after noticing the timer of the match.

To most of the matches that happened in this game, 13 minutes could be considered as a turning point or even the ending minutes to decide the winning and losing side.

"How did it come this far? Is there a bug in the game?" Stephen urged.

Initially, he was just silently observing the lady beside him and did not look at the match duration. However, now, he wondered how the heck there was no confrontation by the two players when the match had already reached this minutes!?

As he observed more, it would seem like the characters were just doing some sort of quests and minding their business at all!

In Stephen's point of view, there was only one possibility for this. The timer for the over all match had caused an error.

"No, it's not a bug in the game. We were just grinding gold for us to reach full build," Sofia said. Not an error!

Krista19 was also not clueless about this. Even though she had evil schemes in gaining fans and viewers of her streams, she was still aware of how the game work.

After she noticed some changes in the shop panel where they had to buy their items, she realized that it was better to wait for their character to be in the full build.

"Oh, full build. Okay," Stephen responded. He straightened his back and stretched his knees without removing his eyes to the mobile screen.

"Hehehe, I know, it's kind of monotonous. But, I'm about to clash," Sofia assured. Then, she tapped the upper left corner of her mobile screen to view the entire map.

"Yeah if it's this 13 minutes... it is really dull. The zero kills and zero deaths, for a long game, what an odd match!" Stephen could not help but voiced his opinions.

The gameplay was dull! It was a fair description of this match. Even Sofia was aware and agree of this feeling.

In a tournament that requires entertainment for its audience, this kind of character gameplay was hardly satisfactory. Their viewers needed to be entertained by their performance for them to have continuous viewers.

"Is this applicable for the tournament matches, Sof?" Stephen asked again.

"I'll make a good gameplay so that this character will be applicable," Sofia nodded. "But before I can finalize a backup role, we had to wait for the update of the game to see the banning mode. We can't be sure as to how many characters in the match will be ban."

"That... yeah, it might be different in pc games," Stephen also wondered about the possibility and stared at the upper part of the mobile screen which revealed the KDA of both players. It was indeed zero.

On the map, Krista19 was nowhere to be found either. Sofia surveyed the entire possible area using her gaming map. She checked everywhere that her enemy could go to, but, she could not locate her enemy.

"She's hiding in the bushes for sure. Maybe, she is about to attack you? Careful!" Stephen stated as he realized that Sofia was searching for the location of her opponent.

From the perspective of a marksman user, when an enemy is nowhere to be found, it's equivalent to an ambush. He was concerned that Sofia's instinct may be influenced by her tank gameplay.

Tanks were hard to kill. So, even if there is an ambush, a tank character won't die easily. They can take much damage than all other roles. But for a mage character, an ambush is enough to end its life.

He was worried about this. Sofia may think that she could still survive a sneak attack.

"Don't worry. I got this," Sofia told him softly with a small smile on her lips.

"The HP of mage is not as sturdy as a tank," Stephen stated despite the assurance from Sofia.

"Hehe, yes sir!" Sofia playfully giggled. Her character continued to move and headed towards the top lane. She was sure that her enemy was there. All she had to do was to figure out her exact location.

While CEO UNRIVALED was walking through the river area of the map, a figure suddenly flashed on her screen.

Boom!

A loud explosion reverberated that a big crater momentarily formed on the ground.

It was the ultimate of the earth mage from Krista19. The giant seed bomb detonated right on Sofia's location within a matter of seconds.

It turned out that Stephen's instinct was right. Krista19 took the initiative to sneak an attack.

CEO UNRIVALED was almost hit by the AoE skill. Almost!

If she had not noticed the figure of the giant seed moving in her direction, she would not be able to dodge the attack.

Fortunately, this streamer could not conceal its character and the animation of the skill that she hurled on her was also visible.

Sofia quickly activated her first skill, to increase the mobility of her character. She then stepped back and retreated swiftly like the wind.

But Krista19 suddenly was not yet done. She followed and pursue CEO UNRIVALED using the same mobility skill. They were chasing each other for a few seconds.

Just as Krista19 felt overjoyed for seeing that her opponent was running away like a coward, CEO UNRIVALED abruptly halted.

Sofia's movement skill was already in cool down. Her eyes glanced at the other skills before her speed started to turn slow.

As her speed, decreased, Krista19 quickly close their distance. But, before she could cast one of her available skills, CEO UNRIVALED was already prepared.

Sofia had anticipated her timing. Her character suddenly ceased retreating and instead, it turned around then charged forward, meeting her opponent in the same area.

Then, the two earth mages cast their third skill. A root sprouted on the ground that producing a stunning effect towards the target.

Both of them were immobilized at the same time.

But, the moment CEO UNRIVALED was stunned by the third skill, a small yet visible curve appeared on Sofia's lips.

She had perfectly calculated her cooldown and the opponents cool down already.

Since Krista19 used her ultimate upon revealing her location, Sofia was confident to counterattack her.

When the stun effect wore off, she threw a giant seed giving the same explosion effect to her opponent.

The distance was too close and the time was not enough for Krista19 to escape.

"Ugh! Sh*t! She caught and killed me!" the woman using this character swore loudly that her voice echoed in every corner of her gaming room. Along with the sound of her cursing, the notification also announced the very awaited kill of all spectators on the battlefield...

FIRST BLOOD!

It took almost 14 minutes to carry a first blood. If it was not CEO UNRIVALED playing this match, the audience would have already exited the battle room and sleep!

It was too painful to speculate something that was too dull to watch. Without action from both players, the match was almost depressing to see.

"Ahh! Finally! A kill!" one of the spectators exclaimed with his sleepy eyes still watching the match.

The level of relief from all audiences was almost the same.

"This battle is too weird and abnormal! I have never seen a match that got a first blood this long."

"The summoner is a long game character? or what is it really? Ahh, base on this match, it's for long games!"

"This battle will end with a single kill only!"

Various speculations from the audiences started to appear as they watch CEO UNRIVALED pushed the top lane. The respawn of her opponent would buy her exactly 40 minutes to continue attacking. But even if her opponent will return to combat, their ultimate skills were still in cool down. This meant, they would hesitate to make another confrontation.

Stephen who witnessed this on the side of Sofia could not help but question this abnormal cooldown of their ultimate skills.

"Why is there no cooldown reduction in your item, Sof? That's a crazy amount of cooldown. More than two minutes, what the heck!" Stephen muttered.

"I read the description and back story of the summoner character. The system says that the seed bomb of this character caused its skill to develop an immunity to any cooldown reduction items. So, those items are useless. And, in the shop, those items are not also available," Sofia explained.

She then opened the shop panel where the player would purchase their desired items in the match. Truth be told, the buttons for all items that focused on the cooldown reductions were gray. It meant that it can't be bought by any means. The system was preventing any player to use their gold coins for a not useful item.

"Ohh, so that's why no gamer played this character. It's too many restrictions," Stephen stated.

"Yes, but if played with the right timing, this character can be applied like any other role. Look at the damage it caused and imagine if this is a clash. It could be an assassin with a variety of skills set," Sofia expressed.

"How about the support role for this summoner?" Stephen curiously asked.

"I haven't tried the support," Sofia easily admitted.

"Haven't tried? This is your first time to play the mage role too?" Stephen asked in disbelief.

"Yes, I'm still experimenting. Anyway, it's a backup role just in case..." Sofia answered.

It might be easy for most gamers to play several roles in the game. However, for Sofia, this transitioning was crucial. She had her own reservations and plans for she was no longer the same gamer that was addicted to this game.
