Chapter 92 - Championship (10)

Brent produced a dry laugh and studied the map for a few seconds.

"Hahaha... This is so her! Sigh! Alright, let the real game begin!" he spoke enthusiastically.

His battle morale surged higher after his realization. It was as if Sofia had just aggro him completely!

"Since the Chronos squad are in their bottom lane, let's push this top lane!" William murmured and rotated his thumb on the mobile screen.

"Let's split! I'll go get some buffs and then follow me to their bottom lane when you guys are done. We will clash! Just don't face solo if there is an assassin," Brent stated, and then his marksman character moved towards their jungle. He planned to farm first and take their buffs before engaging in a full clash on the bottom lane.

While the gunner character was moving to the area of the jungle monsters, Brent also took a peek at the inventory and the individual stats of all the players in the match. His face turned serious while reading the particular stats of CEO UNRIVALED.

"Hehe, I am about to go to level 11. And they are about to hit level 10. This is really troublesome!" Brent mumbled. He would not deny that he was also taking advantage of his character upgraded. He was well aware that if he was not using a skin, his character might be a little lower than the Chronos squad members.

After a few strides of the gunner, a deep frown etched deep on Brent's forehead. He arrived in the area only to find out that it was an empty jungle.

All the buffs for him had been stolen by his enemy!

"TSK! Damn. What a trouble! I have no buff!" Brent could only curse and move towards the middle lane. He carefully shoots all the creeps along his way as he continued to move towards the bottom lane.

As Brent stepped on the wall where the giant mutant NPC was supposed to spawn, he saw the archer of the Chronos squad heading on his way.

Brent saw an opportunity and quickly pressed the button of his first skill.

On the other side, Stephen also used his passive skill to draw his arrow.

Since they were using different characters, their combos where also different. The gunner combo was first skill + ULT + second skill. Meanwhile, the archer's combo was passive skill + ULT + first skill

Both players became alert and fire a shot of different weapons. One produced a bullet while the other shoot an arrow. Their characters stood on the ground and looked dignified. The archer was dressed like a warrior while the gunner was dressed like a hitman in a black suit.

The bullets' movement produced a silver aura as part of the animation effect for the skin upgrade of the gunner that Brent was using. The beautiful silver-white line formed on the air behind the metal traveling at fast speed.

Meanwhile, on the side of the archer, a simple arrow moved forward in a straight line. The appearance of this weapon was too common but as the audience looked at the close-up perspective of the camera, they could feel that the arrow was moving at a terrifying speed.

These two weapons swiftly moved on the air and collided with each other in a perfect projectile.

Peng!

The sound of the collision followed to echo on the entire gym and both players quickly positioned their characters to a more advantageous place.

"AHH! That's so good to see! Very good aim!"

"Woohhhh!!! Arrow vs bullet!!! These two marksman users have great skills!"

"In theory, it is so hard to make two weapons collide! At most, it is better to dodge it. Nice gameplay!"

Seeing the impact of the two weapons, the audience applauded and some even stood in hope that they would clap louder than the others. They were all impressed! As for which side they are taking, they had not taken any.

These audiences were regular players who had a daily routine of playing the game. At some point in their gaming life, they have used both gunner and archer roles. Especially during the very beginning of the game tutorials.

To them, both were performing well. Their skills were all excellent!

While the entire audience was busy cheering from their seats, the collision was again replayed by the operator into a slower motion. Those who had missed taking a video of the highlight quickly got their phone and recorded the slower version.

Another video clip was quickly added to the trending posts of the gaming forum. The topics related to archers and gunners quickly flooded in the comment sections. Memes also emerged as the video was being screenshotted and shared so many times in just a matter of seconds!

After the replay of the initial clashing of weapons was made, five more arrows from the archer were launched on the air traveling faster than the first.

"Whoah?! Another five arrows?! That's... This archer has an insane attack speed! " the younger commentator quickly realized the speed of Stephen's marksman. His mouth was wide open for a while his attention was planted on the game.

"You're right! Usually, there should be two or three arrows after the initial attack. But seeing the five arrows in just a matter of seconds, this attack speed is too fast!" the older commentator followed agreeing that the attack speed of the archer was insanely fast!

As these commentators looked at the five arrows continuously traveling to the air, Brent immediately moved his character to the left side. He just took one step avoiding the four arrows.

The fifth arrow pierced right through the gunner's body before it disappeared. A damage text was highlighted in an instant before the gunner's HP quickly decreased by just 2%.

"Wait! Why is it 2% of damage only? That was the ultimate of the archer right? The damage is considerably low!" the younger commentator stated. Even though that it was done a lightning speed, it did not escape his eyes. He was certain that the archer used its ultimate skill.

"I think so..." the older commentator paused and was also baffled. He quickly analyzed the stats and items of the archer that was shown on the large screen.

Ultimate skills of marksman role usually gave full physical damage. Some of the characters can even kill in just a single hit if the item build was full. It was expected that the gunner would lose more HP after getting hit by the arrow.

But after they saw the remaining HP of Brent's gunner, they could not help but criticized how the archer's damage was too little to none! They even felt offended even though they are not playing the game. They felt that the user of the archer must be punished for his mistake of not providing sufficient damage.

"It looks like the marksman is not focusing on the burst damage! Well, this is also understandable because they have an assassin ally. Their assassin must be their core for him not to get the extra physical damage!" the older commentator replied.

"I think I know why," the younger commentator nodded his head but did not continue speaking.

After the five arrows were disappeared and handled by the gunner, another three more arrows come to the side of Brent's marksman! This time, he did not bother to dodge for he knew that its damage won't slay his gunner.

"F*ck! Another three arrows! That speed is a cheat!" an audience could not help but shout but his voice was also drowned by the loud cheering of the crowd.

"How can a marksman produce 9 arrows in just a short period of time? Is his character has no cooldown?" another man pondered whilst the three arrows penetrated the body of Brent's gunner.

Since Brent did not move out of his original position the audience becomes alarmed.

"Dodge LODS! Move away from the arrows!"

"Idol move! Don't let your character hit the arrow!"

Then, as the three arrows stuck on the gunner's body again, they realized the flaw of Stephen's stats.  Only then does the majority of the audience realized that Stephen's archer had low physical damage.

If Stephen dodge then they would not notice the flaw right away.

"Ohh, I see! So, this archer user is actually unbalanced! He is really a newbie!"

"Well, this explains his great attack speed. He neglected his extra damage!"

"I was about to believe that this archer is cheating! It turns out that he only had a speed but no physical damage!"

The audience's admiration quickly became series of ridicules.

Because of this nonstandard choice of stats, they quickly deemed the archer as a newbie.

Usually in the game, the team would really rely heavily on marksman's physical damage and mage's magical damage in a clash for them to defeat their enemy.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

As the sound of the gunshot from Brent's marksman rang on the entire battlefield, it followed with three more gunshots.  Brent pursued his attack! He could feel his heart beating and he was smiling subconsciously on the screen.
