Chapter 317 - Alley Of Intersection Street

"Jing Jing, we will fall in line there," Rica spoke and gently tugged Maxwell's coat. 

"Okay," Jing Jing casually mumbled and glanced at the people around.

"You should eat with us too? What do you think, hon?" Maxwell suddenly invited her and simultaneously asked his girlfriend.

"Maybe next time if there is an opportunity. I still have to finish my task," Jing Jing immediately refused.

"Yeah, Jing Jing is working in the dining business. It's not convenient for her to bother her right now, hon. Next time if she is free. Hehe," Rica forced a smile and giggle.

"Mmn. Next time! Hehe, I'll just walk around a bit and see the other areas. Enjoy your meal!" Jing Jing maintained the curl in her lips and waved them goodbye.

Rica raised both of her eyebrows twice before looking Maxwell straight in the eye. "Let's go?"

She pointed the area where the line was now getting longer as more customers started to arrive.

"Yeah," Maxwell simply responded with the same smile on his lips and nodded his head. He then slightly bowed at Jing Jing before they started walking towards the group of customers.

Jing Jing did not waste her time too. After they exchanged goodbye, she wandered to another location.

She turned into a corner and reached an alley. In there, she saw six men, about her age. They were sitting on a wooden bench and were having an animated conversation. All of them have cigarettes in their hands and the lingering silver smoke from it surrounded them.

The minute Jing Jing's eyes fall on the group, she instantly realized that she had really gone far!

"A fine lady is visiting our alley?" one of the men asked and started taking a slow step towards her.

When Jing Jing looked at the man, she did notice that there was neon paint vandal on the walls behind them that said, "ALLEY OF INTERSECTION STREET."

Jing Jing suddenly felt her heart raced. She gathered her hand around her chest and tried to calm herself.

"Sorry to bother. I was looking for direction when I made a turn to your alley," Jing Jing spoke, still trying her best to remain calm. She subconsciously patted her pocket to check her phone only to remember that she left it to Sofia.

"Direction? Hehe... where do you want to go?" the man questioned and finally stopped walking after reaching a few steps away from her.

"I-I'm looking for the---" Jing Jing paused and carefully thought of a good reason. Out of nowhere, the face of the two Double Sigma Fraternity leaders flashed in her mind. "I'm looking for the leader of the Double Sigma Fraternity."

"Which leader?" another man questioned. Obviously, they knew the fraternity well. 

Jing Jing secretly took a deep breath. Then, she replied, "The man named Danny."

"What are you to Danny?" the first man to approach her inquired. He threw the cigarette butt in the ground and stepped on it. Then, he stared at Jing Jing as if trying to see through her pretense. "I can guide you to the fraternity house of the double sigma," he added.

"Raul, the double sigma fraternity is not in their fraternity house. I passed there when I woke up and did not notice anyone there," another man spoke.

The first man furrowed his brows. "Really? Then, it's no use. Just give us money and you are free to go." The man called Raul demanded.

"I--- " Jing Jing suddenly sensed a dreadful feeling. When she exited the Chronos company, she did not bring anything. Her initial plan was just to wander near and decided to leave her things on the front desk.

She looked at the faces of the six men, one by one for a few seconds. "I have no money too. I'm here to collect money." She made up.

"C-Collect money? Ha! You want to collect money... from Danny?" Raul questioned with a tinge of amusement in his tone. 

Meanwhile, the sound of bark laughter echoed the alley. The other five men just remained seated on the bench rubbed their stomachs while laughing wildly.

"HAHAHA... Raul, this is funny! HAHAHA..." 

"This girl came here to collect money from the double sigma fraternity? Lady, who gives you the guts to do this? Even the six of us would not dare," another man expressed after collecting his composure.

"Very well then, excuse me," Jing Jing spoke and turned around. But before she could start walking back to their establishment, Raul already held her shoulder with his right hand!

Jing Jing instantly felt cold. She was stiffened by the man's gesture and wanted to scream. But, for some reason unknown to her, she had lost all her strength to open her mouth and yell even a single word.

"Fine lady, you just came into our territory. How about you stay and hang out with us for a while? Hehe," Raul mumbled and smirked at her. He circled at Jing Jing and examined her from head to foot.

Jing Jing fidgeted. She took a big gulp and closed her eyes. All her courage somehow vanished. Even her legs felt limp.

Danny's voice suddenly sounded a few steps away from her while her eyes were still closed...

"Ms. Jing, have you seen a potential parking space?" The question sounded so casual and the man did not even pay attention to the six men in the area.

Jing Jing's shoulder trembled before she opened her eyes and glared at Danny. "Give me the money!" she blurted in such a way that it came out as a demand. 

Danny turned silent and finally looked at the six men. "Brothers, you have money?" he asked them softly. But his expression and aura were enough for Raul to take a step back.

Jing Jing quickly took the opportunity to step forward and walk behind Danny. 

"Leave them! They have no money," she mumbled. She did not even know why she was reacting that way. However, before she could think of what she was doing, her hand already held Danny's uniform and pulled the man away from the place.

Danny was still facing Raul when he felt the gentle force of Jing Jing pulling him. Without a word, he turned around and follow her lead, leaving the six men dumbstruck by what they had just witnessed.

"No way! Someone really acted like high and mighty to Danny!?" one of the men questioned after the sight of the two were gone.

"Hehehe... If I did not see it, I would never believe it if someone makes gossiped about it! Damn! There was only one explanation of it! Hehehe..." Raul spoke and released a long sigh. Earlier, when he was Danny, he even subconsciously stopped his breath.

"That lady--- good thing we did not do anything to her!"

"Raul, what are you saying? What explanation?"

"Only a great love can control a man like those double sigma fraternity! Heh! It's obvious, Danny is in love with that lady!" Raul expressed with certainty.

"IN LOVE!!!? HUH?" His companions repeated with full of disbelief. Initially, they looked curious about what he was about to speak to them. But, after hearing his word, they suddenly had a dark expression on their faces.

"Just where did you get that idea, Raul? If the double sigma fraternity hears you say that, they will pull out your tongue and feed it to the street dogs! You can't slander them!"

"Raul, you scared the lady. The double sigma fraternity will surely hunt you!"

The man listened to these two companions while shaking his head several times. "Well, you also saw it. If it is not love... then, what it is? HAHAHA... The lady is familiar... I think I have seen her before. I just could not remember where."

"Raul, you are really something," one of the men stated before they decided to drop it. "It's better to leave here first. Who knows if the double sigma members would come to look for you! They might include me by mistake. See you around!"

One after another, the men left in haste. But, Raul only watched them and sat back on the wooden bench. He does not seem to be bothered by the threats that his companions were spouting.

On the other side, Jing Jing finally released Danny's uniform after they arrived near their establishment.

"I almost lost my soul back there! What the heck... it's my first time to meet such scary people. Their aura is really dark. They are capable of doing shady stuff. Don't go there," Jing Jing rambled her words as she released a sigh of relief.

"Ms. Jing?" Danny finally called her. There was complete confusion written on his face. He could not understand the money or Jing Jing's behavior either. In fact, as he examined his face, he could not read any fear on it. It was weird to see that there was only panic in her tone but she seemed not scared.

"Ahh... Danny, it's good that you are here! But, why are you out?" Jing Jing finally recovered and asked him.

"Miss Sofia told me to look for you. You have gone for more than an hour, Ms. Jing.. Miss Sofia is worried," Danny politely answered.
