Chapter 316 - Maxwell's Parking Space Idea

The sun started to set while Jing Jing also set forth to execute her goal. She exited their company and walked a few steps away when out of nowhere, customers started to whisper around. She was recognized warmly by most of the customers who were gathering outside. However, they were suppressing the volume of their voices and were reluctant to call her.

"Ms. Jing Jing, hello!" one middle-aged female finally waved a hand and beamed at her. Her voice was louder than the whispers around them.

Jing Jing turned and faced in her direction. The woman was not her acquaintance. But, with her previous job, she was already used to citizens calling her in public. She slightly bowed her head and returned a small smile to the woman.

This one shout from the woman caused everyone to look at Jing Jing. Soon after, people were chatting their greeting and compliments to her.

"Ohh... Ms. Jing Jing, I haven't seen you on TV these days! I miss watching your news and scope!"

"Ms. Jing Jing, are you going to cover this business too? I see other press companies filming there."

"How are you, Ms. Jing Jing? Are you here to dine too?"

"The intersection street is really famous today. Even Ms. Jing Jing is here! Maybe celebrities are also booking tables but we just happened to snatch their first day? Hahaha...."

Jing Jing only waved her hand to the customers and did not respond to the chattering. She had set her mind to prioritize looking for an available property nearby.

She continued to walk along the line of cars parking on the side of the road and scanned the area. The people looked at her for a moment before they also focused on their own chatter.

"Miss Sofia is really perceptive and knows the best for the business. With this many cars on the side of the road, it will indeed become problematic," Jing Jing whispered after seeing the cars that had parked in the area. Her eyes wandered from every other establishment. She walked a little bit farther and even crossed the street to see for available lot property to buy.

But after the long searching, she could not see any for-sale property around!

"This is not right. How could there be no property for sale in here? This place is supposed to have many closed businesses due to the bad reputation of the area. But now, I can't see any sign," Jing Jing pondered and paused her steps. She looked at the sky that had begun to turn reddish-orange while the sun was setting. "The sky is beautiful!" Jing Jing absentmindedly said, withdrawn at the allure of the sunset.

"Jing Jing!" A familiar voice pulled her out of reverie. Jing Jing turned around and saw her two close friends, Rica and Maxwell, walking in her direction. Rica was wearing a red blazer and jeans. Maxwell is also wearing a maroon coat and jeans. Both also had a pair of white shoes.

"OH!!! Hi! Didn't expect to see you both here! Wow, the couple outfit looks so dashing!" Jing Jing's expression quickly changed to excitement. She complimented the two right away after recognizing that they were in a matching outfit.

"Hahaha, yeah... Thanks, Jing Jing! The social media is focused in this place for an entire day. It's crazy! Since I have no work, I've brought Maxwell with me to eat here!" Rica beamed. "Well, I did not expect to see you here, too. How have you been?"

"Right... I'm kind of looking for a property to buy within this area," Jing Jing expressed. She raised her hand and pointed the directions in a circular motion.

"You're buying a property?" Maxwell softly asked.

"Yes, the lot property actually," she specified. Since there are several kinds of properties, such as cars, homes, buildings, she realized that it would be helpful if she made it clear to Maxwell.

"Hmm.. you want a parcel of land property," Maxwell muttered. "I'll see if I can contact someone."

Maxwell owned most properties in district 7. Even the private subways beneath the street were controlled by his family. However, because of the reputation of the intersection street, he avoided this area. His interest was mostly around the place where he could also gain money easily.

"It seems that no one is selling property here. Especially that this place becomes the center of attraction in this district!" Rica stated. She was searching on the internet for the availability of properties that are currently for sale. But, when she entered the location of the intersection street, there was a zero result.

"Yeah... I checked it too. I also walked around. But, the last time I inspected this place... there are several properties that are actually for sale. Now, there is no single trace of it," Jing Jing subconsciously pouted her lips and furrowed her brows.

"You inspected this place?" Rica questioned, she did not even conceal the curiosity in her expression when facing her directly.

Jing Jing giggled. "I did not mention this to the two of you... but, my new job is that company that you booked for dinner. Hehe. I sorted the list of reservations just now. And the parcel of land that I wanted to buy is for the parking space of the business."

"Wait... Are you the one that I talked to when I made a reservation?" Rica suddenly questioned and blinked her eyes a couple of times.

Jing Jing also tilted her head and tried to recall. But then, she shook her head and smiled at her. "I think... No, it's not me. If it was me, I would definitely recognize your voice. Silly. There is another person answering the calls..."

It was not Sofia that was in her mind. It was Heiz. She had asked Heiz's help last time to answer and list those who would contact her phone for a reservation. Thus, it was the only plausible explanation as to why she did not know that Rica had also reserved in their business.

Rica glance at Maxwell and slightly laughed. "That's right. I was indeed a different person who catered me."

Maxwell was still busy with his phone, but, upon hearing Rica's claim, he paused and looked at her in the eyes.

Such expression was not hard for Jing Jing to understand since they were close friends.

Based on their eye contact, Jing Jing could tell that Rica was not the person who reserved their schedule. It was Maxwell.

Strange. But, she did not think too much of it and was still worried about how to accomplish her task.

"It's not surprising that property owners near here would stop selling. In business, competition is very aggressive. Where the profit is, there the business crammed. It's either some big figures had already contacted those property owners to buy their property. Or the property owners wanted to continue making business here," Maxwell solemnly explained to Jing Jing.

"Hmm..." Jing Jing released a sigh. "That makes sense. But, with so many vehicles on the side of the road, we are obligated to find a parking space to avoid traffic," Jing Jing added.

"I have learned a new way of providing parking space. But, this is not yet used in this district. Do you want to hear my idea, Jing?" Maxwell initiated and kept his phone inside the pocket of his coat.

"Ahh... you are here on a date. Hehe, I don't want to disturb the two of you," Jing Jing politely declined.

"It's fine! My boyfriend rarely offers his idea, Jing Jing! Go for it! Our schedule is 6 PM. We just want to see the hype and fall in line earlier," Rica insisted.

"Then, thank you so much! This parking space is actually an urgent project of the business. And if there is no property available to buy, I'll be grateful for an alternative," Jing Jing expressed with genuine gratitude in her eyes.

"This idea... I'm not sure if you are willing to follow it because there are possible dangers of it too. And we are still trying to test if it's applicable. But, as you know, my family builts subways, right?" Maxwell started.

"Hmm. What kind of idea is it?" Jing Jing directly urged Maxwell to continue. Rica also gazed at him with an expectant look on her face.

"The idea is to build a parking space below the ground of your property," Maxwell easily replied.

"B-Below?" Jing Jing gasped and felt worried. "That sounds dangerous."

"It is... well, that is why we are in the process of testing if the idea is applicable," Maxwell expressed and gave her a sympathetic smile. "If you can't find a property to purchase, then, just reconsider my idea. But, if there is a property available, you can forget what I said. I agree that it is dangerous."

"Then..." Jing Jing contemplated for a few seconds. "I will see if my boss is willing to accept your idea, Maxwell. Is it possible to contact you if the boss will agree to it?"

"Of course!" Maxwell politely smiled at Jing Jing.. Rica also nodded her head and gently looped her hands on his shoulder.
