Chapter 239 - Far Considerations (1)

"How long is here and going to boss Wang's office, sister Jing? I need to be in school at 4 PM," Sofia queried and told Jing Jing her next schedule. 

"Hmmn, I almost forgot about your class. Is your headache gone?" Jing Jing asked back.

"Yes, I feel better now. The pain had finally left. Thank you for asking!" Sofia smiled then waited for Jing Jing to respond to her first inquiry. But, in her mind, if she would come late in her first subject, it would not really be much of a problem. Students in night class usually arrived late.

They hit the road again, going in another direction. Few cars bypassed their speed but Jing Jing did not seem to be in a hurry.

"Don't worry, I know a shortcut. We will take a right turn on the second corner," Jing Jing said and pointed to the location. Sofia followed and saw that there were luxurious cars that had turned in the direction already.

"There is an exclusive subdivision in there but I have an access card to their private road. We can take their road. It will lead us to the district's subway that would lead us to the central. We will arrive at our destination in less than 15 minutes," Jing Jing explained calmly. She smiled and give a glance at Sofia before she give her an assurance, "You won't be late in your class."

Sofia smiled back and did not speak anymore. She was not familiar with the streets in their district and could only rely on Jing Jing. 

"Here we are," Jing Jing notified and Sofia saw that there was a boom gate blocking the road ahead of them. 

Just like what Jing Jing conveyed, they did make a right turn towards the corner and stopped just a few meters away from the boom gate. On the side, there was a fancy gate for pedestrians too. 

A guard sauntered towards the driver's side and Jing Jing rolled down her window.

"Good afternoon, ma'am! AH! Miss Jing Jing, it's you! Good afternoon!" the guard of the gate said. He switched from his initial formal tone to a more friendly voice once he realized that it was Jing Jing in the car.

"This place is Maxwell's subdivision. He rent the houses here. He is Rica's boyfriend. The two friends I introduced to you before," Jing Jing gave Sofia a quick background of the private place before turning her attention to the guard of the gate. "Chief, I am heading to the press company and is planning to be using this way."

"Yes, I remember Maxwell and Rica," Sofia softly replied and observed the infrastructures ahead of them. The design was indeed within the elite standards.

The guard of the gate gave Jing Jing a thumbs up without even asking for her access card. She had been using this private road countless times and the guards had remembered her face easily. 

After the quick signal, the man ran back towards his post and the boom gate that blocked the road was rolled up, allowing their vehicle to proceed with its entry.

Jing Jing did not waste time and drove off.

"Your friend Maxwell... are you close, sister Jing?" Sofia suddenly inquired. Her curiosity about Jing Jing's relationship with the man suddenly peeked high.

"Maxwell? Not that close. I am more close to Rica. But Maxwell and I are cool! That man is soo humble and won't complain about all my requests. If I ask him a favor, he always does it. So, I approved him to be with my friend Rica. He is a good guy!" Jing Jing casually replied.

"Ohh... Maxwell... did he not show any interest with you in terms of a romantic relationship, sister Jing?" Sofia probed further.

"He would not dare have a romantic interest towards me! I have a boyfriend at that time. That scum of an ex! Besides, Rica has a huge crush on him," Jing Jing recounted. Then, she contemplated a bit before she asked, "Miss Sofia, why do you ask about me and Maxwell?"

"There is no reason, sister Jing. I am just curious about relationships," Sofia replied.

"Ohh... speaking of relationship, how are you and Stephen? Are you together officially now? I think Claire and Clark are official," Jing Jing excitedly made a comment about the couples. 

"Claire and Clark... Me and Stephen... it's hard to be certain if our relationship would last. It would be challenging."

Sofia's response suddenly made Jing Jing flustered in confusion. "W-what? Pardon me, Miss Sofia but... I have never imagined that I would hear you say cynical words. But now, you actually have negative thoughts about your relationship!?"

"Ohh... well," Sofia said but soon stopped mid-way.

When Jing Jing sensed that the young lady was hesitating to speak, she could not help but make another comment. "You know, I see your confidence in playing games. I admire your confidence when speaking about business. But, for your relationship... you should have confidence about it too! Why are you doubting?"

Sofia rubbed her hand. The gaming and business fields are her expertise. So, her confidence was never questionable. But in terms of relationship, she had her own considerations.

"Sister Jing, Stephen is from a wealthy family. I am only from the mountains of this district, raised by my grandparents. I have no mother and father anymore. So, it would really be challenging for us. The same situation is with Clark and Claire. Clark has a respected social status and good family background. Claire is only average... maybe, this year, our relationship would be good. But once the parents interfere, it would eventually become challenging."

"Your consideration has gone this far?" Jing Jing was completely shocked to hear Sofia's response. In a sense, she could not find a way to refute what the young lady had also said. She just spoke of the reality.

"Whether it is gaming, business, relationship, I've always made consideration and calculate the situation properly, sister Jing. This way, I am prepared for the outcome," Sofia calmly answered.

"I don't know what to say. Miss Sofia, you amazed me every time you give explanation," Jing Jing admitted with a sigh. She was really speechless and lost in words. When she was in a relationship, she had never thought of these things. She did not even bother to know her ex's family background! 

'No wonder, the outcome of my last relationship was very ugly! I should have made my considerations at that time!' Jing Jing secretly thought while looking at Sofia using her peripheral view.
