Chapter 22 - 22: December 7th-14th, 2099

[A/N: Should I start time-skipping? MC is progressing fast and we have a while until Fallout 1]

A week passed as I found that I did not have much to do other than watching and talking with my inhabitants.

And thanks to my Rangers, I even hit level 8 giving me quite a bit of new things.

The first thing I got was two new skills, [Wood Imp Creation] and [Evolve].

It cost 5,000 Energy to create a single wood imp and it even cost more energy just to maintain them at 500 Energy a day.

And after creating a few of them, I was surprised to find that these fascinating creatures were basically guardians of the forest, they could hide and meld with other trees and attack any unsuspecting trespassers before they can react.

The small wooden creatures could even change their arms into sharp wooden weapons if or when the need arises as well, making them great protectors for the large forest I am erecting on the mountain.

On the other hand, [Evolve] seemed to let me evolve a plant or spore creature at the cost of 50,000 Energy.

Specifically, the Southern Live Oak and the Black Cherry Tree which naturally grew black cherries using most of the energy it got from the sun, sending a bit to me.

I also got a few more plants.

Namely, the Xander Root, Potato, and the Punga fruit from Fallout 3's Point Lookout DLC.

Now that I had Xander Root and Broc Flowers I could mass produce Stimpacks so long as I had empty syringes and someone with the skills needed in creating the stimpacks.

Other than that, I also got a new blessing and curse.

[Restore Mind(+5,000 Energy)] and [Degrate Mind(+5,000 Energy)]

I found that the costs that are listed along with the blessings and curses were the cost per second, meaning it would cost +5,000 Energy per second if I were restoring a person's mind.

...

The next day I began spamming out all of the new plants I got from level 8.

I would even get some new food items to sell to Vegas, especially the Punga fruit which could both heal someone and rid their body of radiation.

Besides that, I have also begun mass producing Wood Imps in Big MT and once I actually have enough imps, I will finally be able to start expanding further in Big MT.

I just hope that my Wood Imps would be able to fight back the robots and scientists of Big MT.

[A/N: Note that Dr. Mobious has yet to mess with the minds of the other Think Tank Scientists as of yet, not until the Cazadors and Night Stalkers escape, which means the scientists of Big MT are still somewhat sane, it also means that the Think Tank will most likely be the MCs biggest enemy early on]

Although I still have a while before I even make a move in Big MT, I did make sure to scout out the surroundings of the Botanical Gardens my colony is currently located within.

Other than that, back in Vegas my reputation only continued to increase as we brought in more food and water into Vegas.

Not to mention all the good we were doing for the young, elderly, sick, or hurt made our standing even higher in Vegas.

And what made our standing even higher was that a few of my Rangers took care of some of the more...notorious gangs in Vegas, making it much safer for the cities inhabitants.

...

With the caps we have been earning from the people of vegas, we have been buying pre-war books, comics, bobbleheads, ammo, tech-scrap, music holotapes, educational holotapes, and more.

Of course, this stuff was quite expensive, so we also bartered some food and water for some of the things making it much cheaper for us.

In my spare time, I also taught my inhabitants all I knew when it came to intellectual studies such as math, science, and etc.

Education is a rarity in the wasteland due to the harshness of the wastes and the lack of books and teachers and most of those that do teach people things like Math or Medicine bȧrėly know enough to even teach someone else the basics.

It's sad really.

Luckily there are many places in the wasteland that still have intact books and terminals just filled with random bits of knowledge.

I also had another goal for gathering all of these things, I wanted to create a library in which my inhabitants could learn what they wanted to learn and discover what they were talented in.
