Chapter 232 - Young Master Is Petty

Name:Blossoming Flowers Author:Tinalynge
Jiang Yingyue was unaware of the thoughts that Tang Meixing was having. In fact, she did not even know if she was present due to the many people who had cornered her the moment Yan Meilin had finished talking.

Many of the people who had surrounded her and Han Qingshan were the younger generation of the Han family, all of which were eager to get to know Jiang Yingyue, and in turn, butter up Han Qingshan.

And it proved to be quite successful. He was looking immensely pleased as he looked at Jiang Yingyue with tender eyes as he listened to his cousins or relatives praising them as suitable for one another.

Han Liqiang saw Han Qingshan's extremely pleased look and knew what was going on, but he said nothing and just shook his head.

He knew that Jiang Yingyue would not be easy to be fooled into taking advantage of Han Qingshan.

The group of people were all in a good mood as they mingled. Many of the older generations went to congratulate Yan Meilin and Han Liqiang about finding such a beautiful daughter-in-law, and they politely made small talk.

It was not before Han Weisheng arrived, that they went to eat their dinner at the banquet hall.

Jiang Yingyue was not sure what to expect from Han Weisheng. The first time she met him, he had nothing but dislike for her, but the second time he was so friendly and overly enthusiastic.

This time he was casual and calm. He was not energetic but instead behaved as one would expect someone of his age to act.

He was overseeing the entire banquet hall with a calmness that made the others revere him; even Jiang Yingyue felt some respect for him.

It was not easy controlling a family like the Han family. The entire extended family was invited, and there were all of Han Weisheng's brother's children with their families, which contained them, their children, and grandchildren.

Then there were Han Liqiang's siblings and their extended families; in total, there were between fifty and a hundred people in the banquet hall.

Even so, he was able to maintain order, and no one seemed unhappy or jealous of Han Qingshan and Han Liqiang. If they were, they were hiding it well.

It was natural that some more ambitious members of the family wished for more wealth and power, and some even dreamt of taking over from Han Qingshan and Han Liqiang, but they were also realistic.

Many could understand their own ability, and when they compared it to the father and son duo, they quickly realized that they could just not compare.

The banquet was pleasant as Tang Meixing did nothing to interfere, and all the others were open and friendly towards Jiang Yingyue.

Although Jiang Yingyue was very nervous and worried, she soon found that she was treated well. She had also learned a lot in the etiquette lessons, so she did not make a fool out of herself - she was very likable, and the younger generation all found that she was enjoyable to spend time with.

The one who found the banquet the worst was Han Qingshan.

He was used to having Jiang Yingyue for himself, but now she was the center of attention. She was so popular that she did not even have the time to look at him;, she was chatting and laughing with the other youngsters, and some of the young men were looking at her with dubious eyes.

Did they want to fight him for her? He was going to teach them not to have any idea on his girl!

If the parents knew what thoughts were brewing within Han Qingshan's mind, they would be horrified. They had made their children approach Jiang Yingyue for the sake of having her say a good word for them, but who would have thought that Han Qingshan was so jealous and possessive in nature that he could not handle the fact that Jiang Yingyue had seemingly forgotten him.

Han Liqiang sometimes glanced at his son, and muffled laughter escaped his lips. Who would have thought that this sunshine boy was so petty?

Yan Meilin was also smiling, her eyes shining brightly. She understood her son well, but she was genuinely happy for Jiang Yingyue.

Although she, Han Liqiang, and Han Qingshan were not worried about her background, many of the members of the Han family were used to look down on commoners.

It would be no wonder if some of the uncles or grand uncles would have caused havoc at this banquet, but all of them were polite, friendly, and magnanimous.

After eating, the group went to yet another room. Some went out to linger in the gardens, while others socialized in the hall again. Snacks and drinks were prepared for everyone, and the mood was light.

Jiang Yingyue was dragged away by some young misses who wished to get to know her better, leaving an exasperated Han Qingshan behind in the hall.

He was standing with a glass of red wine in his hands, his eyes dark like thunderclouds, and even the trademark smile on his face was nowhere in sight.

"My dear son, smile. See how well she is being treated, isn't this her dream? Don't go breaking her mood by letting her see your black face." Yan Meilin appeared by Han Qingshan's side, her words stunning the young man.

It was true that he was petty. He had not considered her emotions at all. He knew she had no real friends because of her previous position, but now that she was getting some attention, who was he to get in the way?

A sigh escaped his lips as he took a sip of the wine, the angry beast in his chest pacified instantly.
