Chapter 189 - Young Masters' Secret

Not long after He Julong's rapid retreat, another two figures walked down from upstairs. These two were also immediately recognized by Han Qingshan and Jiang Yingyue.

The two figures that walked down were precisely Zhou Yan and Lin Qiang. Their faces seemed solemn, but a slightly mocking smile could be seen on the corners of their lips.

Seeing this, Han Qingshan was not the least bit in doubt. Zhou Yan had started to move against the He family.

While He Julong had noticed nothing when he exited the restaurant, Zhou Yan glanced over the entire floor to see what the reactions were of the drama he had staged, but his eyes suddenly widened abruptly before narrowing dangerously.

He had spotted Jiang Yingyue and Han Qingshan.

Unsure of what to do, he finally heaved a sigh and walked towards them. It would be weird if he left without greeting them now that he had obviously seen them, but if he went to them, Han Qingshan would definitely be hostile.

It was a bit of a pickle, but he felt that he had no other option than to greet them, and Han Qingshan's foul mood was not foreign to him anyway.

"Young Master Shan and Yingyue," he greeted when he saw them, "it is a surprise to see the two of you here, especially on the ground floor. One would think that it is below your status to be eating in the open hall of a restaurant."

Many on the tables close by were listening in on the conversation. It was rare to see two such attractive men, such as Han Qingshan and Zhou Yan, at the same time and in the same place, so they were very curious as to what was going on.

Most of these people were commoners and were unaware of who the Young Masters were, and those who recognized them said nothing but just widened their eyes in shock.

"I am here on a date," Han Qingshan answered proudly, glancing at the ugly expression on Zhou Yan's face and feeling rather happy upon seeing it. "When on a date, why not try something new? It is just like being a normal couple, going to a restaurant, eating amongst others, and feeling the atmosphere."

"Oh, so the two of you are on a date?" Zhou Yan's voice was dull and slightly pained. Jiang Yingyue was surprised when she heard it, and she looked up from the food she had been happily munching down, only to see the discomfort on Zhou Yan's face.

"Are you okay?" she asked, her voice filled with worry. Hearing her concern about him, Zhou Yan instantly felt better. Even if she did not love him, she still cared about him, and this was like a spring breeze in the middle of a snowy landscape.

Han Qingshan was not pleased to hear her worry, but he understood that Zhou Yan had been part of her childhood, and someone whom she cared about. He was not in a position to tell her who she could have as friends.

"I am fine," Zhou Yan answered with a slight smile. For the first time since he had returned from overseas, did he feel content.

Yes, Jiang Yingyue did not love him right now, but she cared about him as a friend. As long as she cared, he felt that he had hope and that there was a chance to change things.

Seeing the eyes filled with tenderness when they looked at Jiang Yingyue, Han Qingshan was in a foul mood, but he said nothing, and strangely enough, it was Zhou Yan who was the first to bid farewell.

"I should not be a light bulb on your date," he said smilingly. "Since you have something planned, then I will leave you to it and go on with my business."

Just as he was about to leave, he turned to look at Han Qingshan. "I have started taking action. I will be extreme, so I hope that you will not get involved."

Han Qingshan knew that he was talking about the He family since He Julong had caused quite a scene earlier after all.

"I won't get involved," he promised, his eyes layered with a sheen of ice. He was clearly not going to feel pity for a family that had caused harm to Jiang Yingyue.

Zhou Yan nodded his head, and then he left together with Lin Qiang. Lin Qiang was feeling slightly puzzled. He had seen the mood of his master being incredibly low when he first went to them, but after just hearing a few words of worry from Jiang Yingyue, it was as if he was reborn.

Unable to really comprehend what was going on, Jiang Yingyue glanced at Han Qingshan, but he did not seem as if he wanted to comment, and she respected his decision. It appeared that he and Zhou Yan had been keeping some secrets from her, but after considering the secret she had hidden from Han Qingshan for so long, she did not feel that she had the right to pry into his own.

It did not take long before the mood turned happy again. Jiang Yingyue asked many questions about Han Qingshan's life, about his circle of friends, and about his work.

Everything she asked, he would answer right away, and he felt so warm that he did not guard against her.

Like this, the meal was quickly eaten, and while Jiang Yingyue went to the bathroom, Han Qingshan paid the bill.
