Chapter 182 - Punishments

Song Liwei was considering his options. Although it sounded grand to be the CEO of a company, it also meant that he had to take full responsibility. Although it was daunting, it was also a chance, and as Han Qingshan had said, he understood the business well. Han Qingshan was still a student, and he had a lot of other things to deal with at the same time, so he was not often at the office unless something went wrong.

"I will do it!" he said with determination. He did not have the educational background one would expect from a CEO; neither did he have a background as an entrepreneur.

However, he knew that this was the only option he had if he wanted to soar in the world. He had to look after his family and to do so he needed money. Although the salary as a personal assistant for Han Qingshan was not bad, he knew it would be even better if he was the CEO.

It was not only the money that made him interested; he also felt proud that Han Qingshan had so much faith in him. He wanted to challenge himself and prove that he was worth this trust, that he was actually capable enough to take over this position.

Han Qingshan nodded his head when he saw Song Liwei's determined eyes, and he patted him on the shoulder, "I will leave it to you for now," he said with a smile on his face. "If you encounter any issues, you can always look for me, but if you are able to deal with it on your own, do so. Also, challenge yourself and have faith in your abilities. I trust in you, so you are definitely not an ordinary person."

Hearing Han Qingshan's high praise of him, he could only smile sheepishly and nod his head. He felt proud and warm at heart. Han Qingshan was indeed a man that made others respect him. He knew how to delegate work to the useful and talented subordinates.

"You dealt with the Yu Xiulan situation well. There is just a bit of tidying up needing to be done afterward, and I am sure you know how to do so."

Song Liwei solemnly nodded his head. He knew that Han Qingshan was giving him a massive responsibility, and he had to prove that he was worthy of it. He would make Han Qingshan proud.

After handing the responsibility to Song Liwei, Han Qingshan and Jiang Yingyue left Imperial World's office and headed down the elevator towards the parking basement where the Porsche was waiting for them.

Here they entered the car, and while Jiang Yingyue was unaware of where they were going, Han Qingshan's face had turned somewhat serious, his expression grave.

"We need to meet with my grandfather," he said with a sigh after a moment of silence. "He knows about you, and he requested me to bring you over."

Jiang Yingyue nodded her head. She had been told about this Chairman of the Han Corporation before, and she was slightly nervous. From what she had heard from Yan Meilin, and what she could guess from Han Qingshan's demeanor, this man was not very pleased with her.

She still knew that this was a battle she could not avoid, and she nodded her head as she looked at Han Qingshan.

"I'll be fine," she assured him. "Even if he does not like me, that is fine too," she continued. "I am not a noble lady, but I am not together with him either. As long as you do not abandon me, I have no intention of giving up on you either."

Hearing her words, Han Qingshan's pained expression eased slightly. "Don't worry," he said, "I will protect you. I will not let anyone embarrass you."

What Jiang Yingyue was unaware of was that the two people who had caused problems for her during the banquet the evening before had already been punished.

Han Qingshan had given both an ultimatum: give him a satisfactory explanation, or he would take action.

The Dong Jingjing woman had been sent overseas without a return ticket. She was to study abroad, and while her parents would pay for her studies and expenses while studying, when she finished, they would withdraw their support.

She had become an outcast and could not return to the country ever again.

The other woman, who Jiang Yingyue did not even know the name of, had also been punished by her family. Although she had not been punished as severely, her allowance had been removed, and she was grounded for a year.

All of this had been done without Jiang Yingyue's knowledge, but everyone else in the circle had long since heard about it. And although the punishments were harsh, no one could say anything about it, since it was the families themselves who had given out these punishments, mostly out of fear of dragging their whole family down if Han Qingshan was unhappy.

Han Qingshan did not want Jiang Yingyue to suffer even the slightest grievance, and this was also why he was so uncomfortable about her meeting his grandfather.

Although he respected the old man and looked up to him, he knew better than anyone that he was a stuck up old man who did not like him mingling with commoners.

The fact he had fallen for one would definitely not get his approval, and he did not know how to protect her.. If it were anyone else, he would not hesitate to use his might, but in front of his grandfather, he truly was just a youth.
