Chapter 919 Let Her Act Alone

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
"Mr. Xu, you have very good tolerance. I am surprised you aren't drunk yet!" Squinting his eyes, Simon smiled and patted Bruce on the shoulder.

Bruce was feeling quite tipsy. He had already downed 6 glasses of champagne. The women at the table had proposed a toast to him one glass after another, and he couldn't say no.

"Well, let's get smashed! I haven't been this happy in a long time." Bruce opened another bottle of champagne. He hadn't felt so unrestrained in forever.

"Come on, Mr. Xu. Let's have another drink!" Simon spoke loudly, quite evidently drunk.

Nacy frowned. She didn't know whether to laugh at them or tell them to stop. She had thought both have them had a poor capacity for liquor. If they continued, they would surely end up snoozing or puking right here.

"Brother, don't call me Mr. Xu. You can call me Bruce." Bruce suddenly chuckled, with a touch of ridicule on his red face.

"Okay, Bruce!" Simon said, laughing out loud.

A few glasses of champagne had them talking like friends when they clearly did not like each other.

Nacy was speechless. She admitted it wasn't up to her to stop them. If they were so happy tonight, she thought it was best to let them be.

She was still taking her Chinese medication and wasn't allowed to drink. She ate from her plate silently, watching the two men clink their glasses with a smile.

Nathan and Mandy were sitting at the table next to Juan's. Eve and Shaun were sitting with him, talking cheerfully. Everybody was flattering Juan, as the occasion demanded. He was, after all, the center of attraction.

All the people here were excellent businessmen. The ability to flatter people was in their blood. They would fawn over whoever was the mayor. But Juan was rather different when it came to matters like this. He wasn't hungry for money. He already had plenty of it, and he had no desire to multiply it with t

ppily obliged. The problem was that Juan had asked her very rudely. There was a hint of conceit in his tone, like everyone simply had to obey him because he was the mayor.

Seeing how he treated Mandy, Nathan decided to get him out of his office. Juan was the only one who backed the Su Family. Shaun was like a cunning old fox in the business world. He had done a lot of dirty things to get where he had gotten. Nathan didn't really think Juan was all that righteous if he was so close to Shaun.

After all, without Juan's support, the Su Family would collapse.

Nathan had calmed his nerves now, and started focusing on what he could do to take the mayor down.

Since Juan had just taken office, he wouldn't do anything inappropriate anytime soon. But Nathan believed as long as Eve was on his side, Juan would soon be involved in some dirty deeds.

Bonnie had drunk a lot tonight. She walked to Simon and Nacy's table, completely out of her wits.

"Oh, I see Ms. Jin is here," Bonnie said loudly.

Nacy twitched her mouth and held onto the glass of orange juice in her hand. She didn't bother to answer her. She knew Bonnie had come there on purpose to create trouble. It was better to ignore her. She let her act it out without paying her any heed.
