Monica had already mentioned it twice, but Malcolm remained indifferent and cold on both occasions. So she resorted to keeping quiet from then on. She hadn't expected Malcolm would remember it.

Many people dreamed of traveling all over the world. But what use was to do it alone?

It was like a poem written by Haizi, a well-known Chinese poet. "Since you've come to the world, you ought to see the sun. Together with your sweetheart, walking on the street."

Monica's best friend had married a very wealthy businessman. Two years ago, the two had embarked on a world tour. Her WeChat moments were filled with pictures from Italy, France, and Scotland, in which the two of them walked down a beautiful street or ate at a cafe overlooking the sea. Monica was truly envious of her.

But for her it was alright if she didn't get a chance to travel the world. She was happy to just visit a part of City A if she could go there with Malcolm.

On Sunday night, the new mayor of City A took the office and decided to throw a big party. Many powerful businessmen were invited.

Nathan and Mandy also received the invitation. At first, Nathan was reluctant to go. Since he had been spending so much time at the hospital, he was in no mood to attend a party. But the mayor was Eve's uncle and had recently been transferred from City B.

The previous mayor, Joshua, was caught embezzling money and had been sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Shyla had almost gotten arrested too. But the night before Joshua was arrested, he sent his daughter and wife abroad, telling them not to come back for the rest of their lives.

Shyla and her mother both left for Singapore. By the next day, the news of her father's arrest was already online. Her heart broke as she read the reports. She started crying uncontrollably.

She really wanted to go back to City A and see him, but she knew she would end up in a troubling situation herself if she went. Their once prosperous days were now behind them. It felt like all that was now in store for them were bitter days.

It had never occurred to Nathan that Eve's uncle, Juan, would become the new mayor of City A. He had been the mayor of Cit

Mandy spotted Nathan in the mirror. Smiling, she turned around and greeted him, "Nathan! Here you are."

"Go and change your dress," Nathan said straightforwardly with a dark face.

Mandy narrowed her eyes, frowning. She had just finished with her make-up. Coldly, she asked, "Why?"

"This dress reveals too much of your skin. You are a mother now. It's not appropriate for you wear these kind of dresses anymore." Nathan's sharp eyes narrowed. Truth be told, Mandy looked gorgeous in this dress. It outlined her perfect figure in a graceful way.

Mandy smiled. She hadn't expected him to say this. She saw the dress in his hand, and asked gently, "What have you got there? Is this made for me?"

"Who else? Is there a second woman here?" Nathan said jokingly as he walked to her. He stretched out his slender and bony fingers, touching her sharp jaw.

Mandy looked up straight into his eyes. She rose up and planted a gentle kiss on Nathan's cheek. With a mischievous smile, she said, "I didn't know you were so narrow-minded. No one will look at me. They know I'm married. I'm no longer the object of their desire..."

Nathan smirked. He was wondering why she didn't know about her great charm. Every time they went for a dinner party, all the men would look at her with lustful eyes. Mandy never looked at them, and maybe that was why she was unaware of her charm. Nathan, however, couldn't bear it.
