"Don't worry, I'll be fine soon," Monica said softly as she led Fiona to a bench.

Worried to the bone, Fiona tried to persuade her, "Mom, how many days has it been since you first got the stomachache? We are in the hospital now. You'd better get a check-up so we can be fully sure you're okay."

Monica didn't refuse. She was ready to do anything that would make Fiona rest. With a smile, she answered, "Okay."

Fiona helped Monica make an appointment with the doctor. They had to wait for a while. They entered the physician's office when their turn finally came. The doctor was a middle-aged man who was in his forties. He had a kind face and a head full of grey.

"What are your symptoms?" he asked gently.

"I have been having intermittent stomachache recently," Monica answered honestly. She didn't know what was wrong with her, but she had a bad feeling.

"Stomachache? Can you tell me exactly where does it hurt?" The doctor made several gestures in the air while asking her the questions.

Monica touched the middle of her belly.

The doctor frowned slightly and spoke in a grave tone, "You should get a blood test done and a B-scan to see if there is a problem..."

With her eyes widened in disbelief, Monica asked, "Is something wrong with my stomach?"

"It's hard to say anything right now. You should have the check-up first and bring me the reports," replied the doctor.

Monica stretched her hand and massaged her aching temples. "Okay," she said with a sigh.

Fiona helped Monica carry her bag and accompanied her for the tests.

The process of drawing blood was quick. However, when she did the B-scan, the assistant found that there was something wrong with Monica's cervical cells. He immediately consulted a doctor and arranged for a TCT test for her.

The result of the check-up was due next week. Monica was exhausted by the time all the tests got done.

On the way back home, Monica sat quietly in the car. After a w

shown since he was hospitalized?" Elizabeth hadn't asked about Mandy's situation the night before. She reckoned Adrian's disease was similar to leukemia, but it wasn't exactly leukemia.

"At first, Adrian fainted in the kindergarten and started bleeding. He developed a fever a few days after he was hospitalized. Later he had a nosebleed," Mandy answered dutifully, feeling uncomfortable as she described the events that had occurred.

"What is your speculation?"

"It looks like he has leukemia, but not exactly..." Mandy replied seriously, a little unsure.

"I also think so. I read through his report yesterday. Maybe the issue is with his bone marrow. Leukemia patients need a bone marrow transplant, but since Adrian doesn't have leukemia, he doesn't necessarily need a transplant. Have you drawn his bone marrow?" While she spoke, she suddenly realized another serious problem.

Drawing his bone marrow would hurt his body. Considering his current physical condition, it was nearly impossible to draw it from him right now.

"Twice," Mandy replied, but she was a little confused. With a stiff look on her face, she asked, "Why do you ask that?

"Because since it isn't leukemia, his bone marrow cells are fine. His body is weak now, and he shouldn't be operated on," Elizabeth answered.
