A trace of embarrassment flashed across Chauncey's delicate and handsome face. He fell into utter silence.

Chauncey was not ready to talk about Fiona. The man had been love struck with Fiona since they met in the University. At that time, Ethon had also developed feelings for the girl—and immediately acted on his feelings.

Ethon had always noticed the awkward glances Chauncey gave Fiona. Those glances were never appreciated.

Ethon shot daggers at the other man, but that did not seem to work. Chauncey was too dissolute and hedonistic.

Strangely enough, Chauncey kept Fiona in his heart. He only mustered the courage to talk to her right before senior year ended.

Chauncey always knew that he had no chance with Fiona. From the very beginning, the man had accepted that fact. If by some miracle they had become a couple, Chauncey was afraid that he would only hurt Fiona. The man never denied his dissolute tendencies.

Eve stopped teasing Chauncey. Instead, the lady scanned the man from head to toe. She looked rather beautiful and seductive. As she realized that her hunch was correct, Eve could not help but arrogantly raise an eyebrow.

At that moment, Monica sat and waited just outside the ultrasound room. Fiona carried two pages of laboratory reports in her hand as she approached. She brought good news. The doctor had told her that the baby was healthy.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Fiona asked anxiously. Monica looked like she was in miserable pain. Fiona saw the lady curled up, hands on her abdomen.

The pain made Monica lose sense of her surroundings. And then suddenly, the lady heard Fiona's voice. Monica slowly raised her hear. "Fiona, I'm fine. This is just a stomachache," she said as she broke out cold sweat.

"What? A stomachache? Have you eaten something spoiled?" Fiona became increasingly concerned. She took a pack of napkin out of her bag and proceeded to wipe Monica's forehead.

Monica's heart was immediately touched. She would have never thought the girl was that kind. She felt thankful that her son found someone like Fiona.

Monica continued to rub her abdomen. These days, her stomach pains usually kept her up at night.
