Chapter 825 Love Develops Over Time

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
At that point, Claire had done everything to win Linda's favor. They did their best to hide that fact from Shaun.

Shaun had been especially kind towards Claire ever since she lost her child. Over the years, the two had developed a very strong bond.

By that time, Claire was already forty years old. Her first boyfriend had already married another woman, and they had raised a son and a daughter. The wife worked as a kindergarten teacher. Claire knew that the family lived a life that was simple yet happy and fulfilling.

Claire occasionally browsed through her first boyfriend's WeChat moments. Back when they were together, the man only made three thousand dollars a month. But now, he was reported to earn millions of dollars yearly. The figure was feeble next to what Shaun made. However, he had found a very beautiful wife and had a harmonious family now. Adorably enough, he and his wife actually belonged to the same class when they were in primary school.

Claire also sneaked into the wife's blog from time to time. His wife usually posted inspirational content, occasionally including a selfie with her husband or their whole family. Most of her contents featured the lives of the children in her class. Claire found that to be immensely beautiful.

Whenever Claire visited that blog, she would feel a certain resentment towards her decision to not have a child. She still clearly recalled the time when Eve pushed her downstairs. Claire would loathe that woman all her life.

Nobody expected that incident to render Claire infertile. She could have conceived a child, but she was unable to do so because of Eve.

If not for Shaun, Clair would have married her first love. Her life could have been as sweet as the blog's she read. In her head, Claire lived in a very affectionate marriage.

Claire was free to dream. In fact, she was truly happy for that family. The only thing she ever wanted more in her life was a child of her own. Her past never stopped haunting her. She could not fathom what her life would be if she had not met Shaun.

Clair was completely aware that she must let go of her ugly past.

"Eve, you don't know true love. I do not need to mind you. If Nathan loved you, then

ear old man and asked sarcastically, "It says 'Divorced.' What does that mean?"

"It simply means that the man was once married. What else could it mean?" Claire retorted calmly, in a somewhat casual and lazy tone.

Eve raised her eyebrows. Clearly displeased, she complained, "Why would you ever want to set me up with a divorced man, Mom? I am still at the peak of my life; I can't be handed off to a second-hand man."

Claire blankly stared at Eve for an entire minute. The lady could not help but smile, albeit slightly. "That man is very experienced, especially with handling a marriage. What is wrong with having a little more experience? Divorces are really more frequent these days. Wouldn't Nathan also be divorced if he finally decides to choose you?"

What Claire had said sounded reasonable. Eve did not even know how to respond.

Again, Eve felt guilty. She pointed to the man's photo once more and said, "Fine, I'll give him a chance. But not soon..."

"How long do you want to wait?"

"Two months, maybe." In two months—if everything went according to Eve's plan—Adrian would be dead. By then, it would be easier for her to instigate a divorce between Nathan and Mandy.

Claire smiled enigmatically and then decidedly closed the photo album. Although she knew that Eve was up to something, she simply decided not to act upon it.

"Okay. But in the meantime, try to befriend that man. Love takes time to develop, you know!" Claire said with a smile.
