Chapter 788 Scapegoat

Recently, the YC Group had been quite steady. Colin didn't want to fight against Nathan anymore as it wasn't the right time to do that yet. When he heard that Adrian was in the hospital, he didn't ask about Mandy. He set aside his personal grudges as he couldn't help but admire Nathan. After all, Nathan had taken over a huge company at such a young age. It was a feat that was nearly impossible to accomplish without real talent.

Colin knew very well that he was just a newcomer who couldn't rival Nathan even if he tried. To his surprise, Eve had acted without his permission. When he found out about this, he was furious.

He knew what kind of person Nathan was. They were classmates in high school after all. Nathan might look calm and composed, but the minute you set him off, he took revenge very seriously.

"What do you mean? Don't be silly. He's not going to kill you. On the contrary, the jewelry of your company's going to be more popular. Isn't that great?" Eve picked up her tea cup and took a sip, leaving a lipstick stain on the fine ceramic.

"Well, if you think that's a good idea, why didn't you do it under your own name? Don't think that I don't know what you're thinking. You just want to use me as a scapegoat so that I can shield you. Ah, Eve, you don't know how much damage you caused." Colin was thoroughly irritated. His face became ferocious, and his veins were protruding on his forehead in anger.

It took everything he had to not wrap his hands around Eve's neck and strangle her. He couldn't believe that this vicious woman had tricked him.

Unfortunately, Eve made sense. Colin could understand why Nathan would probably hate him even more than he did Eve. After all, he was in love with his wife. Would he even trust him?

"So, what do you want?" Colin asked.

"I don't want anything from you. I was just informing you of what I did because I didn't want you to be in the dark. Don't be nervous. I'll help you if something goes wrong in the YC Group," Eve said with a sinister smile.

Colin discreetly gnashed his teeth and smirked. "Well, thanks in advance."

Eve smiled smugly. "You're welcome. I'm glad we're in the same boat."

He thought to himself, 'I don't want to be in the same boat with you.' He hated admitting that he was working with a person with such a compromised moral compass. If Mandy found out that he had been working with Eve, she would never forgive him.

However, he knew there was no turning back.

Ultimately, he wasn't a man to be messed with. He might look kind and gentle on the outside but when it came down to it, he would do whatever he could to get what he wanted and achieve his goal.
