Chapter 661 Is It Bad That We Take What We Need

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Morry regretted saying those words the moment they escaped her mouth. Usually, she was calm, collected, and eloquent—even in court—but right at that moment, she felt like she couldn't even form coherent sentences in front of a man. Aside from that, she felt her insides quiver from the tension building up around her. It frustrated her a whole lot, but there was nothing she could do.

"That is okay," Colin said, sounding relieved. His gaze was on Lisa, who was sleeping soundly.

"Can... can we go out and have a talk?" invited Morry, sounding shy and unsure. "I... I really want to straighten some things out with you." She felt a nasty headache coming on, and so she started massaging her temples. 'Why am I so angry with Colin?' she asked inwardly, feeling agitated.

Colin didn't respond right away. Instead, he kept silent for a long moment, until he finally said, "Okay."

Right after they exited the ward, Colin made sure that door was closed tightly. The two of them then walked along the hallway, not side by side, but one after the other. Since Lisa was alone, they decided to not go too far.

The only thing illuminating the hallway was a dim ceiling light. From where Morry was standing, Colin looked like a part of the night, dark and concealed.

The tense atmosphere was making her fidgety—she didn't know where to place her hands, and so she kept folding them across her chest and resting them on her waist.

Finally, she broke the silence. "I've liked you for the longest time now," she said, her voice quiet and gentle.

"You are so silly, Morry," Colin said, as he shook his head and chuckled a little bit.

If it was hard to make friends with other people when a person is past a certain age, how much harder would it be to fall in love with someone else? Yes, Mandy had left him, and now he was all alone with their daughter, but it didn't mean that he was ready to look for someone else. Deep inside him, he still hoped that Mandy would change her mind and come back to him.

The answer disappointed the already on-edge Morry. She took a deep breath, raised her head, stared at Colin, and asked, "You knew, didn't you? You knew I liked you since the very beginning."

If a woman had feelings for a man, it was only natural for her to shower him with affection and admiration daily, to the point that she was willing to sacrifice anything just to make sure that he was happy. Morry had a stunning career that she built for herself, but despite that, she decided to stay by Colin's side. If that wasn't a testament of her devotion to him, what else would it be?

"Molly, let's not talk about this, especially not right now," Colin said dismissively. However, he had a warm smile on his face.

"No," Morry said firmly as she shook her head. "Why are you al

traightened out his shirt. His face was devoid of any emotion, and he was looking straight into Morry's eyes.

"What? Was that too strong for you?" Morry said, smirking mischievously. Despite not getting the answer she wanted, she knew that she had planted a seed of doubt inside Colin's mind.

"You should act more responsibly. Acting brash like that would only lead you to dangerous situations," Colin said patiently. While he had never had sex with anyone, he was set on giving Mandy the honor of being the first woman he would be with.

"Have you ever thought about it?" Morry continued, ignoring Colin's dismissing of her. "Lisa will grow up one day. If she doesn't have a mother, she will be incredibly lonely. Yes, you're always nice to her, but when she grows up, she would need a female who would guide her through life. It's not good for a girl to grow up in a family without a mother," Morry said thoughtfully. She loved Colin so much that she was willing to use anything and anyone to make him fall in love with her as well.

"That is still far ahead in the future," Colin replied. "I am not worried about that. Also, I really don't have the energy to date someone right now." He stopped and took a deep breath. "Morry, I know that you are a good woman. If I wanted to be with you, I would have already made my move. But I do not. I want to be alone in the meantime."

"You are lying! You want to be with Mandy! Why are you telling me that you want to be single? I know that you will not give up until you make her yours!"

Colin lowered his head and looked at his watch. He smiled coldly and said, "It's time to go home."

Quickly, Morry threw herself at him and wrapped around his arms like a koala would a tree. Colin frowned and immediately tried to get her off him, but she wouldn't budge. In the end, he had to let her have her way.
