Chapter 650 Construction Worker

A sad song's prelude filled the air. It was a melancholic love song.

Shyla raised her head in a daze, feeling extremely upset. She was a proud woman and was respected wherever she went. She was surprised with herself that she was begging a man to be with her.

The melody gently caressed the sorrow of her heart. The low and blue voice of the singer depressed her, making her feel lonely.

Did she have to play such a dirty trick to get Ethon? After all, she was just a young woman who wanted to be loved. Was that too much to ask for? She wasn't wrong, just in love with the wrong person.

She had known Ethon for a long time. In fact, their families were close too. Still, Ethon never showed any interest in her. She wondered if it was because Ethon wanted to be with a more exotic person.

"Hey, Shyla, what business do you have listening to such a sad song! You're still young! There will be plenty of opportunities. I think you are so much better than Fiona. Don't be upset. You'll get Ethon sooner or later...and if not him, someone better than him...you'll see." Eve leaned over, poured a glass of wine, and handed it to Shyla. She then cut off the song.

With a sad look, Shyla raised her glass and gulped it all in one go. She took a deep breath and giggled ironically. "Sure," she muttered, scoffing.

"I have heard Fiona's mother is a lunatic. Her parents bring her shame, you know? Ethon's family is powerful and wealthy. I am sure they won't accept a woman from her family background. In the end, Ethon will come to you." Eve sat down next to Shyla with a glass of wine in her hand, and she poured some more wine for Shyla.

"Yes, you are right! How can Fiona even compare with me?" said Shyla coldly.

A sly smile flashed across Eve's charming face. Lazily leaning against the sofa, she put on a happi

n the south." It was a call from Fred.

Nathan had bought a piece of land in the south business district some time ago. He intended to build an office building for the Mandy Mall. He hadn't told Mandy about it yet, as it was supposed to be a surprise for her.

At the site, a construction worker was going to jump from the topmost floor, which was the fiftieth floor. Soon after, a large crowd of onlookers had gathered around the building. More than a dozen police cars had come. Reporters and ambulances were present as well.

"What is it? Is it something serious?" Hearing what Fred had said, Nathan tightened his arm around Mandy's waist as the two walked forward together.

In the background, Nathan could make out the sound of the sirens of police cars and ambulances. His heart sank with a bad feeling.

"The construction worker is trying to commit suicide. Mr. Jin, he said he wants to see you." Fred was in a dilemma. He knew that Nathan would be landing at this time. He was supposed to deal with this matter carefully, but there was really no other option than to call Nathan.

"Okay, I'll be right there. Please ask someone to comfort him first," Nathan said curtly after pondering for a while.
