Chapter 586 Poisonous Perfume

Eve and Bonnie's friendship started through a fight. When they were in kindergarten, they both took a fancy to the same teddy bear while playing in the doll room. Neither of them was willing to give in and threw a fit. Eve grabbed the toy by the leg while Bonnie pulled an arm, ripping the poor bear into pieces. Strangely, after the incident, they became close.

They grew up together and even went to the same school. At some point in the past, they made a deal never to fall in love with the same man. They had kept that promise ever since, and everything from then on out was smooth sailing.

If they had, perchance, fallen in love with the same man, their friendship would probably have broken up a long time ago.

"I went to the hospital yesterday to visit my uncle. Guess who I ran into?" Bonnie asked with an excited smile.

"Look at you! You must have met Nacy!" Jennifer turned her way with a strange smile playing over her face.

"Yes! She is pregnant. And I made sure to provoke her!" Sneering, she laid on the deck chair cozily, not even batting her eyelids.

"How did you provoke her?" Eve asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

Bonnie lifted an arm and sniffed her wrist. She then waved her arms around, filling the air with the scent of her perfume. Her face broke into a sinister smile and said coldly, "It is harmless for normal people, but for pregnant women, it is a poisonous perfume. If Nacy had inhaled it a few more seconds, her baby would have dissolved into a pool of blood."

Eve's eyebrows shot up when she caught a whiff. "Is that the perfume concocted by Doctor Ouyang?"

"Yes, I wore it for fun yesterday. I did not expect to meet her in the hospital."

"What did you tell her?" Eve also hated Nacy, and she could not help but sulk when thinking of that woman.

"I told her that I had sex with Simon before and that he has a

her security. He has the best people, and it's beyond impossible to succeed again."

'She has a point, ' Bonnie thought, her mouth twitching.

"Bonnie, I heard that the Ye Group and the QH Group are collaborating. My uncle happens to be the CEO of the QH Group. I will leave the case to you." Eve's soft red lips curled up into another nasty smile.

The sky in the distance had changed. The afterglow of the setting sun cast over the sea surface, reflecting every wave. As the sun slowly sank, the rocky outline of the island grew blacker against the orange-kissed sky. The water became darker, and there were silhouettes of birds flying in the air. Soon, the brilliant orb sank lower until it disappeared down into the horizon.

The three women lolled quietly on the deck chairs, lost in their thoughts. From where they were, they had a perfect view of the sun dipping. The beautiful orange haze danced on their faces.

'What a breathtaking sunset!' Eve sighed wistfully, staring at the sky. Her lips bore the semblance of a smile, just enough to show that she was enjoying her thoughts. She reached out her hand subconsciously beside her, but there was nothing. She forgot to bring her camera. What a waste not to capture such a lovely scene!
