Hearing her words, Nathan squinted at her. Throwing his arm up subconsciously, he said, "Eve, don't think that I'll fall in love with you just because you dress up like Mandy." He sneered. "Even if you're the only woman left in this whole galaxy, I would never love you."

Tears streamed down Eve's cheeks as her ears buzzed from his words. Throughout her entire life, Nathan had never been this cruel to her.

He broke her heart.

Eve gritted her teeth. "What about you then? Do you really love Mandy? Or is she just Sharon's substitute?"

Nathan scoffed. "I've never seen her as a substitute. I used to love Sharon, but it wasn't as deep as my love is for Mandy now."

Eve was stunned by his words. In an instant, her eyes turned misty. She clenched her jaw. "I hope you won't regret what you've just said today," she snapped. "The woman doesn't come close to deserving your love."

He took two steps towards her as he curled his lips into a cold smile. Without another word, his hand shot up to strangle her. She coughed, struggling under his grip. "Even if she doesn't love me, I'll still do my best to get her back. If I find out that you're playing tricks behind my back, then you might as well go to hell!"

He didn't even look back as he turned around and walked away.

It felt as if Nathan had sucked out all the oxygen in the room, leaving her ultimately breathless. She furrowed her eyebrows. Her uncle?

Eve didn't have an uncle, but her stepmother, Claire, did have a brother called Ray. 'Was she up to this?' sh

Plus, the doctor already said that my uterus walls are too thin. If I lose this child, I might not be able to conceive again. And, I know how much Simon's looking forward to being a father... I'm not being impulsive, right?" A bright smile weaved onto Nacy's lips.

Mandy shook her head. "It's my fault. I didn't tell you that different people have different symptoms when they're pregnant. I shouldn't have let you drink."

"Don't be silly. I'm sure the child will be safe and sound." Nacy was practically glowing with pride as she said it.

"I'm happy for you."

"How about you? Are you ready to start over with my brother?" she asked casually. Mandy frowned uneasily.

"I'll be honest, Nacy, there's just a lot of things that I can't let go. Colin and I already have an adopted daughter...She's so young, and I don't know how to explain these complicated things to her, and– Colin's just....he isn't doing very well." She sighed deeply.
