Chapter 531 Fiona Is Released

"Colin, what should we do?" Mandy turned worriedly as her eyes shone with unshed tears.

Colin held her more tightly as he whispered in her ear, "Don't worry. Leave it to me."

He let go of her and stood in front of Harrison. The smile dropped from his lips as his face clouded over. He looked like a lawyer about to start his prosecution in the courtroom. "Mr. Li, could you tell me what happened?"

"According to what the suspect said, she went to the bar with her friend tonight. Her friend gave the bag to her," he answered easily, handing the file to Colin.

"Did you get the surveillance video from the bar?"

"I did, but it wasn't turned on tonight." He sighed in embarrassment.

"Since the bag belonged to her friend, then you can check the fingerprints. I believe she's innocent," Colin pushed.

"Even if the bag wasn't hers, it would be hard to explain this kind of thing clearly. Mr. Yu, you've worked as a prosecutor yourself. You must now that all the evidence is pointing against her," he argued back.

Colin and Harrison went to a more private area to discuss the case. With no other choice, Mandy was left in the lobby.

Since it was almost impossible to get Fiona out of there, Mandy turned on another person for help.

She held her phone tightly in her hand as she took a deep breath. A part of her didn't want to make the call, but if she didn't, then it was as if she was letting Fiona spend the night in the police station. She couldn't do that.

After seconds of hesitation, she walked outside and dialed Nathan's number.

It was already

n, Adrian, ' he thought with a smile.

After spending another five minutes outside the police station, Mandy finally walked back in. Not long after, Fiona was released without any case needed.

She didn't expect that it would be that fast.

However, to drop the charges, she was supposed to end her marriage.

Perhaps it wasn't a bad thing. Mandy knew deep down that Morry had always liked Colin. Since she and Colin weren't destined to fall in love, why not leave him earlier to let him find his own happiness?

Upon seeing Mandy, Fiona rushed to her. "Sis!" she cried out.

Mandy patted her shoulder comfortingly. "Silly girl, it's okay now."

Colin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. They still weren't finished discussing the case when Harrison's chief called him to release her.

"What's going on?" He glanced at Harrison. He had begged the officer to let go of Fiona for half an hour, but he still wouldn't agree. Why was he letting her go all of a sudden?

"I don't know. The chief called for it." Harrison shrugged helplessly.
