Chapter 450 Let's Get A Divorce

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Mandy didn't have the energy to wail. The pain was excruciating, but she remained expressionless. Thoughts of her unborn child tormented her.

In the operating room, a baby boy's cry came through. This woke Mandy from her stupor.

She had no way of figuring out how long she had slept. But soon, she gathered it was midnight. The coldness in her body had disappeared. Her heart suddenly sank. She opened her red and swollen eyes and made an attempt to sit up.

This small action brought waves of pain. The wound on her belly hadn't healed yet, and Mandy was now clutched by intense pain. In spite of this, she didn't remain still. "Where's the baby?" she asked in a hoarse voice. Nathan, who was by her side, heard her call.

Her question worried him. He recalled what the doctor had said a few hours ago.

"We will have another child in the future," Nathan responded. The look on Nathan's face was stiff. He looked at Mandy's sparkling eyes, while a stream of guilt began to flow in his heart.

Nothing made sense to Mandy now. She was still in shock, and the pain in her belly made it hard for her to think straight. On wracking her brain, she remembered how the doctors had stripped the baby from her stomach. Vividly, an image of the umbilical cord being cut came to her mind. 'How can this happen? How could I miscarry?' she wondered helplessly.

Right at this moment, she felt her whole world collapse. She bit her lips and felt a lump in her throat. She couldn't control her tears anymore. She let the tears roll down her face recklessly. "I am asking you once again, where is the baby?"

Nathan reached out his hand and stopped her shaking body. After holding her hand, he said, "Mand, the child... The child is gone. The doctor said that since you are in good health, we can have another baby in the future."

"In the future? Nathan, there is no future for us! Get the hell out of here!" Mandy shook Nathan's hand off. His presence brought disgust to her. Seeing he wasn't leaving, she began to roar like a wild animal.

Nathan's heart was experiencing so much pain. To watch her like this was unbearable. Even before she woke up, he had anticipated she would react in this manner. After all, she had lost the baby she was so excited to see! Yet nobody could see the pain he was in. He, too, had lost a child! Life,

finally opened her mouth.

"Let's get a divorce." In the garden, Mandy, who was sitting in a wheelchair, looked neither sad nor happy. Her long hair was tied behind her head, making her look mature and elegant. Although her pale little face was shining in the sun, it was difficult for her to hide her sadness. She looked up at the sun, only to realize that she could no longer laugh. The emotion she felt at the moment was numb.

Nathan's eyes didn't shift from her even for a moment. Hearing her cruel announcement, his black eyes were filled with sadness, and his heart broke into pieces. His biggest nightmare had turned into reality. The thought of being separated from Mandy was unbearable.

For several seconds, there was pin-drop silence. Nathan didn't reply to her. Instead, he simply uttered her name, "Mand."

Mandy ignored him. She had no desire to interact with him.

"Let's go home, shall we?" Nathan suddenly squatted down and looked at the woman in the wheelchair with a doting smile in his dark eyes.

Mandy sat motionlessly in the wheelchair, neither sad nor happy. During these days, Nathan had never left her side. And she knew he had done this because he worried she would commit suicide. Truth be told, this thought had crossed her mind so many times. However, she wasn't stupid enough to do it. After all, she wouldn't be content until she brought justice for her baby. That was the only thing she could give her dear child. 'The person who killed my baby will pay the price, ' she thought with an unbreakable determination.
