"Really?" There were still tears hanging on the corners of Mandy's eyes. Her beautiful eyes were glinting like a light. She was full of hope, like a peach blossom that just bloomed in the spring.

"Of course, it's true. She was your bestie, and you were hers! In such a pure friendship, there is no such thing as a supporting or leading role." The expression on Nathan's face gradually turned from dull to calm.

"Nathan, have you ever lost an important person?" Mandy suddenly looked up and called his name. A frown appeared on his face.

While speaking, Mandy kept her eyes on Nathan. However, when he heard her question, his heart twitched fiercely. It felt like he was walking on a flat road and suddenly crashed into someone, falling flat on his face. He was overwhelmed by a sense of unwillingness and anger.

"Yes... It was a long time ago."

"Can you tell me?"

A disappointed smile appeared on his face. "It's getting late. I'll talk to you next time when I'm free, okay?"

He had changed the topic! Mandy was very annoyed!

Mandy didn't think he would dodge such a simple question. It seemed like he was offended by her question. Now she wouldn't dare to ask him again. As a couple, it was his duty to tell her what was in his heart.

"It's only half-past eight. It's not late," Mandy mumbled. She rolled her eyes and glanced at the clock on the wall.

"Now it isn't, but it will be half-past nine once you finish showering." Nathan calculated the time. Although Mandy was a competent and efficient woman, she could spend half a day taking a shower.

"Just come clean and tell me you don't want to share your story with me! Why do you have to lie?" Mandy stared at him ferociously, and the corners of her mouth twitched slightly.

"Who?" Nathan narrowed his dark eyes, and a hint of complicated emotions swept through it. 'What did Mandy know?' he wondered.

Thinking of the woman in Nathan's heart, Mandy frowned and bit her lips slightly. Although Nathan was not her first love, she had already ruled out Daniel from he

ncouraged such a fight, things would be beyond repair.

"I'm tired. I need to have a rest." Mandy didn't want to answer this question. Although she didn't know what kind of animosity existed between Nathan and Damian, family ties were thicker than water.

"Okay, go ahead." When he heard Mandy say that she was tired, he stood up at once and took her upstairs.

"Nathan... Let's sleep in separate rooms." Mandy said at the door of the master bedroom. There was a slight hesitancy in her voice, but she uttered it nevertheless.

"But why?" Nathan asked confusedly. It has only been a few days since they married, and Mandy was already suggesting that they slept in separate rooms! He felt like someone had attacked him with a knife.

"I'm pregnant, and I can't sleep well. Having you by my side feels a bit uncomfortable. It is better if I have the whole bed to myself." Mandy didn't care how her words would make Nathan feel. But she didn't want to sleep with him at any cost. After all, he had hurt her a lot today.

Realizing there was no point in arguing, Nathan nodded his head.

Mandy heaved a sigh of relief, opened the door, and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

When she came out, Nathan had already brought a quilt and put it on the sofa. Mandy was drying her hair with a dry towel. She glared at him and asked, "Why are you still here?"
