Chapter 427 There Is No Free Lunch

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
"Lillian, can you please accompany me to the musical instrument store? I want to buy a piano," Mandy said firmly as a confident smile bloomed on her face.

"Sure, Madam. Let me just finish with your favorite egg tarts. They'll be ready in around ten minutes," Lillian acquiesced kindly.

Mandy said, "Okay."

Just then, the doorbell rang. Lillian paused with her baking and went to get the door.

"Come on, move all these things in," Damian said as he entered the living room.

Several big, hulking men came in, carrying all sizes of bags in their hands.

Stunned, Mandy stood still and watched them place the shopping bags around the living room.

"Wait... Wait a minute. Why did you bring so many things here?" Mandy asked curiously. She grabbed Damian, who had been directing the muscled men in arranging the shopping bags around.

Before he answered Mandy, he casually sat on the sofa and crossed his legs. "These are your wedding gifts."

"I don't believe in free lunches, Damian. I won't be accepting these gifts. Please take them back," Mandy responded in a low voice. She thought there was something off with Damian. He was now here in her house, delivering all sorts of gifts as wedding presents. He must be hiding something up his sleeves.

"I'm giving you presents, and you're asking me to take them back now? Oh, you hurt me, Mandy. We're family now. Consider me as your elder brother, now that you've married Nathan. In fact, you can call me 'brother, '" he drawled lazily and still sprawled across Mandy's sofa.

"Are you really here to give me wedding gifts?" Mandy watched the bags and boxes piled up on the floor of her living room. The brand names emblazoned across each bag could blind anyone.

"Of course! These are the newest of the winter fashion line. You wouldn't catch any of these in the market yet," Damian replied with a faint voice while glancing at the bags and shoes on the floor.

"I don't care whether I can buy these rare items or not. I just can't accept them," Mandy said, standing her ground against Damian. The relationship between Nathan and Damian

d the door for her.

As soon as they got into the car, Damian fiddled with the temperature so Mandy won't feel too cold.

"Do you know which store you're heading to?" Damian glanced at her quickly while he was driving.

"Let's go to Roberts Piano Store," Mandy said softly as she fastened her seat belt.

"By the way, is there any reason why you're suddenly buying a piano?" Damian asked with a playful smile on his face.

"My room is sorely missing a piano in it. I think that would simply complete my room's look," Mandy teased. At the back of her mind, she thought of the "Midsummer Night's Dream" piano competition.

She never imagined she would play the piano again after so many years. But she surprised herself by breaking her longstanding rule. Perhaps it was because she still held the hobby close to her heart. She could never really let go of the past between her and Sharon, but she also couldn't deny her love for music.

"You want to prepare for the 'Midsummer Night's Dream' piano competition, don't you?" There was a hint of seriousness on his face. Of course, he knew about it. He was the one who paid for someone to tweet about the competition on Weibo. He even asked his own online trolls to comment on Mandy's post.

"What? How do you know about that?" Mandy looked at him suspiciously.

"I've seen the tweet on Weibo," he revealed with a stoic expression on his face.
