Bruce pressed his thin lips slightly, and a faint smile appeared on the corners of his mouth. "You know me best," he said to Mandy.

"Bruce, I think it is time you found a girl to fall in love with."

"Where can I find a girl? Would you be willing to fall in love with me?" Bruce asked, knowing very well he was asking for the impossible. He tried to smile, but there was a hidden pain in it.

"If I hadn't met Nathan, I might have fallen in love with you," Mandy said smilingly, looking at Bruce's eyes, which were a bit complicated.

"You ruthless girl… We both know that the past cannot be changed, but still you are trying to talk about it. You are pouring salt onto my wounds," Bruce said in a cold tone. A feeling of suffocation welled up in his heart.

The word "if" could only be used to deceive oneself and others. It was in fact the most useless word. At the end of the day, what had happened could never be changed!

"I'm sorry, Bruce. I can't respond to your love. Please give up on me. The reason why I'm here today is to make it clear to you that you shall not waste your precious time on me anymore. The person I love deeply is Nathan," Mandy said, and there was a hint of apology in her tone. She knew her words would pierce his heart.

"Don't worry. I don't like you all that much! You know what? I think I will find a girlfriend next year," Bruce said in a half-jokingly tone. Seeing the apologetic expression on Mandy's face, Bruce pretended to be light-hearted, raising his eyebrows with a smirk on his face. He didn't want her to feel guilty for his sake.

"I'm having a wedding next Friday, so is Nacy. We are both getting married on the same day," Mandy said and smiled. Just mentioning her wedding brightened up her face.

"I know. She called and informed me last night. I always knew what she had for me was nothing but an infatuation. I'm glad I didn't accept her love," Bruce said and let out a sigh of relief. If he had accepted her proposal, both of their lives would have been spoiled.

Mandy took the cup with her slender fingers and drank some water. The water in the cup had already turned cold. She frowned.

Bruce was a very observant man, and he noticed the subtle change in her expression. He picked up Mandy's cup and quickly got her

e as she walked up to Fiona.

"Almost done. Ethon is helping me solve a chemistry problem." Fiona closed her books and put them into her schoolbag.

When Ethon saw Mandy and Bruce, he greeted them politely, "Hello, nice to see you here."

"It's late. Don't you want to go home?"

"I'm about to go home."

With her schoolbag on her back, Fiona walked up to Mandy, took her hand intimately, and leaned against her body like a spoiled child.

On their way home, Mandy played a song and began to hum.

Fiona was in a good mood too. She relaxed and began to hum along with Mandy.

"Nana, my wedding is next Friday," Mandy announced with one hand on the steering wheel.

"What?" Fiona suddenly turned to look at her in surprise, wondering if she had heard it wrong.

"I'm getting married next Friday!" Mandy repeated, unable to hide her joy.

Now Fiona was sure that her ears weren't playing tricks on her. Yet, she continued to look at Mandy, dumbfounded. "Are you getting married to Nathan?" she asked.

"Yes. If not him, then who else?" on hearing Fiona's silly question, Mandy replied while shaking her head.

"Wow! You are going to marry into a rich family!"

"Silly girl. Stop talking nonsense."

"Sister, isn't the Jin Family a rich family? Nathan is the richest man in City A!"

"Ha-ha. I consider myself very lucky."

"I'm so happy to have such an excellent brother-in-law, and I can eat imported snacks in the future!" Fiona said joyfully. As a foodie, her mind was always occupied by food.
