"It looks like heart failure. I don't think he will survive," Mandy said sadly and rested her hand on Nacy's shoulder.

"What did you say? That's impossible. This is a joke, right? Simon, that's enough! Wake up. Don't do this to me." Nacy was sobbing relentlessly as tears streamed down her face. She shuddered and slipped on to the ground as her legs became wobbly. Nacy was sitting by the door of the operating room and punched the ground with her fists. She was drowning in her whirlpool of emotions.

"Nacy, please stop crying. I can't see you like this. He slipped into a coma after the surgery. We have given him anesthesia, so we can't move him," Mandy said, holding Nacy's trembling hand. It broke Mandy's heart to see Nacy like this, and she hated herself for being a part of Simon's plan.

"Mandy, please. There's got to be some way to save him. Please do something. He is young and healthy. How can he die? Don't play with me. It's not funny," Nacy said, sniffing loudly. She was tugging on Mandy's clothes desperately.

"I tried my best, Nacy. There's not much I could do. Spill your heart out to him, Nacy. You will feel better." Mandy choked up. She couldn't take it anymore.

Nacy was an effortless actor and was never affected by death scenes. But it was different in real life. Simon, her best friend, her first love, was going to die. She couldn't lose him.

The pain was unbearable; she wished that she were dead instead of him.

Cassie walked up to them and said, "Please excuse me, I have to wheel the patient back to the ward."

Nacy wiped her tears and accompanied Cassie to move Simon to the Cardiology Department.

Mandy had arranged a VIP ward for Simon that was two thousand dollars for a night. The VIP ward, unlike the normal ones, was secluded with a separate bed. It had the aura and the warmth of home.

Once they entered the ward, Nathan slipped hi

e wake up! What will I do with you, Simon?" Her voice became shaky, and she tried to catch her breath. She trailed her finger across Simon's cold face. There were many bruises, cuts, and scrapes on his handsome face.

Her heart sank at the thought of the amount of pain he would have endured.

"Simon, you were the love of my life and the reason for my existence. I always thought that you would be by my side at all times, that nothing in the world could separate us. We grew up together..." Nacy couldn't stop crying. "How could you leave me? You have broken your promise, Simon. I hated to see you with Bonnie. I know that you did it out of spite, but I could not stand it. It's normal for me to be mad at you, right? You know how important self-respect is to me, don't you? I tried hard to forget you and find my happiness." Nacy rested her head on Simon's chest, loving the feel of the warmth of his body seep into her skin.

"But why do I still like you after everything you've done to me? I can't live without you, Simon. I accept my defeat. You are right, like always. Please wake up now!" Her chest was heavy, and her mind was exhausted. She didn't know what to do or say, so she just lay there against Simon's chest, loving the closeness of his body.
