Chapter 282 Return The Shirt

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Nathan had just wanted to hurt Mandy, but he hadn't expected that she'd be so innocent. It made him hate Madeline even more. He wanted to seek revenge on the Zhou Group so much that when it went on a crisis, he was considering letting it go bankrupt. However, as Mandy made a compromise, he fell soft.

Mandy was the only daughter of the Zhou Family, spoiled so much by Madeline and Stanley when she was a kid. Obviously, the parents would want everything for her, so he thought that he was just overreacting for pushing the blame all on her.

However, if Mandy didn't go with Sharon that day, she'd still have a suitable heart. He could've agreed with the operation, and Sharon would still be alive.

He shook his head, removing all thoughts of the different possibilities.

What's done was done, and there was no way to change it.

That day, Nathan locked himself inside his room, reminiscing about all the things that had happened to him. At the thought of Mandy, he gently placed the brooch beside Sharon's violin, his expression turning gloomier. "Happy birthday, Sharon. I hope you like the gift." He softly smiled.

It was a bitter smile, a smile that seemed to show all the emotions and hardships he had been through. "You've left me long ago. I guess it's me who didn't want to let you go. I wish you hadn't left me."

It was only a few years, yet it seemed as if he were in another decade. As he looked back, everything was different now. What he felt–it was different too.

As the sun disappeared and the night breeze blew through the windowpane, it soon came to the day when Mandy had promised Nathan to return the shirt.

ps. It was already seven in the evening, so her face was slightly shadowed by the night.

"Lillian, what is taking so long?" Nathan's harsh voice came from behind them.

Mandy almost dropped the bag as she jumped at the voice. His face was dark under the moonlight as he stood before them solemnly.

She had just said that she didn't love him anymore, and he heard it–loud and clear. At the thought, she twisted her wrist–a common response she did whenever she was nervous.

They had already broken up, yet she still felt sorry for what she had just said.

Mandy pursed her lips and stiffly held out the bag towards him.

"I washed it, so it doesn't smell now." Her heart was beating so fast that she thought it might explode.

"You've touched it already, so it's trash to me. Lillian, throw it away." Nathan sneered, with his hand behind his back.

Lillian froze, flushing in confusion. If she threw it away, Mandy would be heartbroken. If she didn't, Nathan would be furious. It felt like she was caught between a rock and a hard place. It was a decision she just wouldn't want to make.
