Chapter 279 A Coincidence

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Mandy knelt in front of Sharon's tombstone. Her lips trembled as she recalled the time when fate had separated her best friend from her. It had been a terrible car accident.

The time went back to July 14, 2000-and-something.

"Mand, I'm going to take you to meet someone special to me." Sharon bit her lips and was staring at Mandy with expectant eyes. She was grinning from ear to ear and a subtle blush crept across her cheeks. Her eyes were glinting with happiness as she had fallen in love with a man for the first time. Everything seemed new to her.

Mandy looked at Sharon, wondering what was the reason for her happiness. Sharon and Mandy had just completed their college entrance examination and were sitting in a taxi. Mandy had no clue who Sharon was referring to. The blazing sun outside the car felt as if it had set the earth on fire, and the smell of tar wafted in the air. Summer was Mandy's favorite season, and she was enjoying every bit of it.

"Oh, come on, Sharon! Tell me the truth. Who are we going to meet?" Mandy whined. Sharon and Mandy had grown up together and were best friends. They always shared everything–there were no secrets, fear of judgment, or complications in their relationship. But today, Sharon seemed like she was hiding something from her. Who was this person that she did not know?

"Patience, Mandy, patience. You will know when we get there." Sharon chuckled and rested her head on Mandy's shoulder as the blush deepened. She couldn't keep the ecstatic grin off her face.

Mandy rolled her eyes and wondered who it was.

"Sharon, do you know what my biggest dream is?" Mandy said dreamily.

"Of course, I do! You want us to get admitted to the Mozart Conservatory of Music in City A, after which, you will marry Daniel, and live happily ever after," Sharon said. Sharon had always envied Mandy for having a great boyfriend like Daniel. He was handsome, smart, and treated Mandy like a princess. Mandy's love story was popular in No.1 High School.

Mandy's face flushed with embarrassment. Sharon was right. She couldn't wait to get married to Daniel. That was indeed her biggest dream. But getting into the Mozart Conservatory of Music with Sharon seemed more important at the moment.

Mandy snapped from her reverie when the incessant blarin

much sooner.

Daniel was a great guy during high school, and that was the only reason why Mandy had decided to forgive him. Everyone needed a chance to turn over a new leaf.

A gust of cold wind brushed over her, and a lock of hair caressed her cheeks, wiping the tears away. Her melancholic eyes were fixed on Sharon's grave. Her noisy brain seemed to rest, and she felt as if Sharon was whispering in her ears.

Mandy sat by Sharon's grave for a long time and didn't leave until five in the evening.

At No. 520, Haibin Road

Nathan did not go to work today. He had directly gone to Sharon's grave and mourned for his first girlfriend. He had sat there for a long time and had left a bunch of her favorite flowers before leaving. He had woken up early and had reached the cemetery at six in the morning. It was Sharon's birthday today. "When I grow old and finally leave the world, I don't want you to mourn for me on my death day. I want you to come to my grave on my birthday as if I were still alive," she had said.

Sharon's words were vivid in Mandy and Nathan's minds. They kept up their promises and had gone to see her on her birthday.

Nathan was a mess when he returned home from the cemetery. He locked himself in a white room with a gilded door, which was on the third floor of the villa. It was a room filled with memories of Sharon. It contained Sharon's old violin, her pictures, clothes she had worn, and the books she had read. Nathan had tried hard to collect them all to keep her alive in his memory.
